I uploaded and installed this incredible theme a while ago for my site, http://www.controlbooth.com, and a couple members noticed that the grey thread status icons were hard to see against the dark background, so I edited almost all of the thread status icons in macromedia fireworks(except for the plain closed envelope, not really any editing to do there). I have uploaded a zip file with the edited images and the png files that I used to create them.

Here's a screenshot of what they all look like:

*note: the screenshot does not include the thread_new.gif image, I just forgot to include that in the screenshot :o

Cool - I considered redoing those myself, but business has been kind of hectic lately. If you don't mind I'd like to add them to the main distribution and add you as a supporter for the style. If you're cool with that I'll update the XML file to 3.5.3 as well while I'm at it.

That would be great! I would love to be a supporter. I have also considered changing the hot icons to images of flames atop the letter, but the results haven't turned out very well so far. Is there anybody else who wants to take a go at that?

If you're already running this skin on vB 3.5.3 you don't need to upgrade it since there weren't too many template changes that came about with the last upgrade.

flavoflav2000 02-19-2006 05:56 PM

I run bglold on www.westcoastbikers.com - I am having users inform me that when they go to register or send email they cannot see their font. I investigated and it seems like it may be google tool bar and its autofill feature.

With IE and on firefox as the browser google toolbar autofill makes the background light yellow - very close to the set font color, so you cannot see it. This confuses people.

is there a script to disable autofill on certain form fields? or can I change the font just on form fields? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Suggestions? :ermm:

Are you making one for 3.5.3? I really like your style but it wn't let me install it as you made it with 3.5.1 and I want it on 3.5.3

???`S?LV?R???` 02-26-2006 05:53 AM

It'd be awesome to see a 3.5.4 version of this, I tried installing on 3.5.4 and it came out all compacted, not stretched on the page like I've seen some of the other's installations. I'm not sure why it did that, but can anyone here show how to fix this?
Can someone with this working properly on 3.5.4 post some steps to get this working correctly?

And also... does this affect the 3.5.4 version at all since the templates might not be updated to any changes that might of occured within the 3.5.4 version?

Here's a screenshot of how my installation came out.

Andrew 02-27-2006 01:31 AM

You can install this on 3.5.3 and 3.5.4 without any problems - None of the template changes affect any of the templates that I customized. I do plan on updating the XML file though sometime this week. I will send out an update once the new one is uploaded.

As for the width thing you just need to change the value for "Outer Table Width" in the Styles and Templates section of the AdminCP. A value of 100% will make it span the full width of the window.

Ockie0107 02-28-2006 10:35 PM

I love this template, however, is there anything that can be done about the sizing of the last post column so that they are all the same sizing? Right now it looks kinda odd not having it all aligned.

Any ideas or fixes?

Thanks, that's good news to hear, I'll be looking forward to the updated xml file.

Also just to note, the quick replies are hard to distinguish between the text area and the surroundings :)

???`S?LV?R???` 03-02-2006 08:03 PM

(still looks forward to it) lol

just kinda anxious to get the update.

Andrew 03-03-2006 05:05 PM

I will get the new release out this evening. Sorry for the wait - I've just been swamped lately with school and work.

Your right, I noticed that also, I'm not sure if that was mean't to be like that, but it'd be cool to be able to change that to alligned, basically having some instruction posted for some users that would like to do so optionally.

There is a fix for the column alignment issue at the bottom of the style description.

From the vBulletin Admin Control Panel > Style Manager > Click Go for the style > Under Sizes and Dimensions > Change Main Table Width (pixels or percentage) to 100%

Cissy_Malfoy 03-11-2006 11:17 PM

Very nice style. Thank you

Lazarous 03-30-2006 10:04 AM

Fantastic style, many thanks...

For some reason the bottom of my forum areas look like the attached picture. Can anyone advise what I need to check to remove the black row?

Thanks.

Edit:
Sorted, I found that I was missing the following CSS code from when I installed this on a test board...

.tfoot2
{
padding: 0px;
background: #222222;
color: #FFFFCC;
font-size: 6px;
}

...sorted! :)

Has any one tryed this on 3.6 Beta yet I hope you will be updateing this for 3.6

Andrew 06-08-2006 07:23 PM

I haven't tried this out on 3.6 yet myself, but I do plan on releasing a ported version once 3.6 Gold is released later this summer. I might try it on a test installation this weekend just to see how much is going to need reworked.

EDIT: I tried installing it on a localhost installation of 3.6, and at the first glance it is going to need some major reworking to be fully functional (Over 20 templates had major changes made to them.) I might just start over with a clean style once 3.6 Gold is released, but I will definately be porting it over (As well as hopefully releasing some new styles :))

I am a complete idiot! How do i add this template to my fourm?

dvsDave 08-06-2006 06:27 PM

Andrew, do you have a timetable for the 3.6 version of black and gold? I am hoping to update my site within the next two weeks before school starts and wanted to make sure that I could update the theme at the same time..

Cool Matty 08-09-2006 11:08 AM

Yeah, I am interested in the update of this theme also. Our forums use it, and we won't be updating to 3.6 until we can get your theme working.

Thanks, and awesome job!

mustangcanada 08-14-2006 01:25 AM

ditto, the style is definately the best i've seen. I use it on my forums. Just waiting for 3.6.0 to be released!

Cheers and keep up the great work!

Mysticales 08-15-2006 03:44 AM

Well im using it.. I reverted all templated tho to adopt my "Parent" skins mods and tweaks, so far didnt seem to break anything. =)
