Do you think this hack increase the number of quality postings, what have you observed so far? Thanks

mclark2112 05-24-2006 12:54 AM

This is great. Thanks!!!

dhaliwal 05-25-2006 04:23 PM

any plans on the following post

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=157

Celtic_Mad 05-25-2006 04:44 PM

Is it possible to allow members to view a certain forum if they've posted, say, 100 posts a month with this hack?

Coast to Coast 05-25-2006 08:36 PM

Could you rewrite this so that the requirements do not affect the Administrative or Moderation teams?

Yep, or any other selected usergroup.
In my case I have a VIP group of paying members, I can't force them to post or to anything to be able to download attachments for example.
I can't ask them for any posting or anything else, they are paying money.

This new feature will be great! Hope to see it soon!

Valter 05-26-2006 09:22 AM

Version 2.8 - May 26.2006.
-Added - Now users with no permissions to send PMs can post PMs to usergroups you choose
-Added - Link Posting Permissions. Member must have x posts before can post links.
-Added - Now you can easily exclude usergroups from any restrictions (see updated screenshots)

I'm little tired, this was big upgrade. Please report any bugs you find. Thanks.

Yes you can do that with the new version.
I installed it and its working fine! :)

webgroup 05-26-2006 05:49 PM

I would like to know how can I add some text to the attachment message?
Right now it says: To view attachments your post count must be greater or equal to 100

I would like it to say:
To view attachments your post count must be greater or equal to 100, but if you don't want to wait, click here and become a paid member now!

I've been trying to add the text with no success, please help.

Thanks!!!

Speedy131 05-27-2006 02:01 AM

great hack!

maybe an idea for the next upgrade
instead of totally disableing the attachments for users with < X amount posts, let them view the thumbnail and then when they click it to see the full sized version they get the error that they need X amount of posts (some javascript popup box or something)

Hornstar 05-27-2006 07:18 AM

Okay, for some reason this has made the max pm length to 5000 characters.

this is the message i just got

The text that you have entered is too long (9255 characters). Please shorten it to 5000 characters long.

that is so small lol.

I've had a look, but there's nowhere to put the amount of posts that a member has to make a month to have access to a forum.

Valter 05-27-2006 08:51 AM

Celtic_Mad,
You can NOT do what you want with this hack.

hornstar1337,
This hack has nothing with your problem.

webgroup,
You need to edit phrase "error_postcount_too_low_attachment". Momentarily "100" must stay at the end. I'll change this in the next version.

webgroup 05-27-2006 11:01 AM

I'm trying but its not working, I also tried editing the xml with the same luck.

always the 100 shows at the end oh the message:

To view attachments your post count must be greater or equal to , but if you don't want to wait, click here and become a paid member now! 100

Valter 05-27-2006 04:27 PM

Version 2.9 - May 27.2006.
-Added ability to hide last post info for choosen forums
-"To view attachments..." phrase is now more flexible. Now required post count number must NOT be at the end. Add {1} where you wish to show required post count number and add {2} where you wish to show user's post count in phrase.

rmxs 05-27-2006 04:39 PM

Added ability to hide last post info for choosen forums...

from who hide the last post??i see in the screen shot that you select forums that wont hide the last post, byt when users show the last post and when not.

EDIT:
I fount that hide tha last post etc hide from all user the last post (also for admins moders d.moders)

----------------------------

Edit.
Sugestion| Can you make a option if the user dont post for X days in some forums cannot see the threads in 1 or more forums..|1 post needed per day in forums 7,8,9,10.....to see forum 1

squishi 05-28-2006 09:58 AM

Hi Cybernetec,

this is a really great product. I've had very good results with it so far.

The update is very nice also. Keep up the good work!

Speedy131 05-28-2006 11:00 AM

I have one question about the "Private Messages Permissions"
There's only an "allowed usergroups" option (very neat btw), but not an "excluded usergroups" one

Think maybe that can be added in a next upgrade? ;)

and oh yea, does this hack do extra querries each time or does it work with info vbulletin pulls up by default anyway?

moonclamp 05-30-2006 05:24 PM

I love this hack.

The only issue I have is that if a user goes to send a pm, they get the 'no permission' message after they hit submit. That means they can spend ages typing out a message only to be disallowed.

In my opinion it would be much fairer to give them the 'no permission' message when they first hit 'reply' or 'send pm'

hmmm if you click this link:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/private.php?do=newpm

Sorry, there is no better way to have this working.

Version 3.0 - May 31.2006.
-Bug fixed. Usergroups who are excluded from "Forum/Thread Permissions" will be able to see last post info in forums where you have choose to hide it.

Didn't think of that. I guess it's cos I don't let any usergroup bypass the block. I still think some sort of warning message would be nice though.

rmxs 06-02-2006 09:48 AM

Cybernetec what about my sugestion??
Sugestion| Can you make a option if the user dont post for X days in some forums cannot see the threads in 1 or more forums..|1 post needed per day in forums 7,8,9,10.....to see forum 1

It's not on to-do list but if I make something like that it will be the separate product.

Valter 06-03-2006 08:47 AM

Version 3.1 - June 03.2006.
-Added "Excluded groups" to PMs Permissions
-Users with no permissions to send PMs (except to allowed usergroups you choose) will see note on New PM page (see screenshots)

ibsteam 08-23-2006 02:59 PM

Thanks for the hack - very handy! Got a little problem though:
I made a restriction not to allow links for users that have less then 10 posts. It works if you're trying to create new thread, but doesn't work for existing threads. Any ideas?

Valter 08-24-2006 12:00 AM

v3.4 - Aug 24. 2006.
- Fixed bug in "Link Permissions" (user can post link when replying to thread)
- Added "Product Version Checking" - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=124679

For all feature support please check this thread:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=123002
Yes, it works with vBulletin 3.5 too.

monkeywarplane 09-13-2006 07:55 PM

Forget what I said about the error, I'm dumb.

Great product!

*clicks install

Hi Cyb. I was wondering one thing. I am on 3.6.1 and I noticed the font size is extremely small for one of the warnings. See this pic here

How can one adjust it?

Toopac 09-20-2006 12:49 AM

Wrong thread sorry

daiver 10-20-2006 11:19 PM

I installed it, configured it to not let users with fewer than 10 posts to post links and it didn't work.

bigmonay2k 10-30-2006 10:30 AM

does this work for 3.6??

Zia 03-01-2007 01:54 PM
