Can you make this go through the usual reputation process (i.e. reputation_add_process) so that reputation rules are followed as well as code from other plugins run as well (such as uCash)

great hack:D id also be very interested combining this hack with the hidden content hack

TJFweb 10-29-2005 01:09 PM

Edit! Managed to integrate it with uCash ;-)

mfizzel 10-29-2005 03:12 PM

Abe1 thank you for all of your work, this mod is the most used one on my board.

I just upgraded from 3.0.7 to 3.5 and installed this...I was worried that all of the 'thanks' stats wouldn't convert but the upgrade went flawlessly, thanks again.

divided_by_fear 10-30-2005 02:37 AM

is there anyway to make the pages cached? cause i get Uncached templates: post_thanks_postbit_legacy

I will try to fix it for next version.

divided_by_fear 10-30-2005 02:42 AM

thank you very much... love the hack though its sweet..

ombossman 10-31-2005 08:18 AM

thank you very much...realy good man

mfizzel 11-01-2005 08:32 PM

My template isn't caching either, it's adding 1 query to every thread : Uncached templates: post_thanks_postbit (1)

mfizzel 11-02-2005 04:31 PM

Could I make a request? Don't know if it would be possible but if you could integrate AJAX technology with this and make it to where thanking a post didn't need a page refresh...that would be INCREDIBLE !!

Tulsa 11-05-2005 12:32 AM

What would really be useful would be a "GROAN" button to go along side the thank you button.

yea or like a 'dumbass' button that could be configured to take away a rep point.

Version 2.3 (11/5/05):
  • [ADDED] Cashe Templates

C_P 11-06-2005 03:50 AM

I wish there was a "Thank You" button for this one. Great job and easy install!

*Update, Am I losing it? I clicked on thanks button to thank someone and it worked fine all around. BUT now, I go to any boards and there is no thanks button anymore... anywhere. I have not blocked any user groups of forums from seeing it either!
I then thought it may be due to me adding one and I removd the thanks I did and still do not see it on my forums?
Ideas Abe?

*Update #2 now they are all back??? What is going on? Is there some kind of wait limit or cache issue with these?

Did you make the template changes to ALL your styles?

C_P 11-06-2005 05:09 AM

No, just default wich is the only one we use but will do.

If it's YOUR post, or you ALREADY thanked a post, you wont see the 'thanks' button.

Version 2.4 (11/07/05):
  • [ADDED] Setting to disallow users from deleting thier own thanks.

(As per a request.)

Avalon111 11-07-2005 04:44 AM

i realy like this extension but it has one big dissadvantage in my case.

i have to exclude 34 forums!

i think that it would be a good idea to use the Forum Manager to activate or deactivate this extension.
When editing a Forum in the Forum Manager i would just need a option called "Post Thank you Hack enabled in this Forum: Yes, No"
That would make it much easier to control if it is enabled in a from. searching the Froum ID and adding it into the excluded list is realy painful.

emtee 11-07-2005 05:29 AM

When will this Thank You Hack integrate with one of the Hide Hack for vB3.5, if possible ? It's the only thing keep me from installing. I know a lot of others want this integration feature too, so it would be nice to have it implemented in version Thank You Hack 2.5 or even Thank You Hack 3.0.

Abe1, can you integrate this with the hide hack? I will pay for it just to show my appreciation. Thank you.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll see what I can do.

On my forum I've been thanked 1700 something times - it says 'Thanked 1794 Times in 510 Posts' - How can I make it use commas ie - 1,794 instead of 1794 ??

I implemented by adding 2 new hooks to the hack. One for the postbit and one for the member info page. It will be in next version's release. I want to first see if I'll be adding any of these other requests right now.

It uses the forum's defaut settings to see howit should format the number.

mutawa 11-09-2005 08:24 PM

Thank you Abe1 very clean code, I installed it and working fine.

I wish I could change the thank you message or translate it to other language since I'm running my forum on a different language.

How can I access and change the thank you message?

They are all phases. Search for them.
