One feature I think I may have mentioned earlier on would be for the hack to automatically put donors into a specifc usergroup?

On my forums, members get special benefits if they donate, but currently I am having to manually put them into the correct usergroup. If the hack could do it for me then that'd be ideal.

That was implemented, but never released. When I do the next release, it will be setup to do that.

I have just installed this on my 3.5 board and it went excellent. I haven't tested the communication between PP and my server just yet, but everything appears to be in working order. (I have this also installed on my 3 - 3.0.X boards.) You wanted to know on the first page of this if the installer was worth it. In my opinion, YES! I uploaded, ran the installer, had to make one manual edit, and then finished the configuration via acp. It took me all of 1.5 minutes to install. Thanks. These are the mods I enjoy installing.

(My board is HEAVILY modified and the install went flawless.)

ok. the missing section in admincp needs to be fixed (everyone knows). also after i ran the installer, i get an error on /forum/donate.php. Im using GOLD 3.5

me everything is empty! even donate.php

The admincp issue is an easy fix, but I doubt anyone can help you with the donate.php error if you don't say what the error is. :nervous:

How is it an easy fix? I edited out the "vBulletin" in the donations xml file, but the admincp section still does not show up.

Nevermind I got it working.

welll i get no error when doing forum/donate.php but i get a database error only. I jsut upload everything and ran the installer. Is there anything I missed? Or should reinstall

The uninstaller is NOT working with 3.5. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times. This was problematic because it KEEPS adding to the templates that IT DIDN'T uninstall. I manually uninstalled this contrib and that corrected the layout problems that arose from the uninstall not working.

I recieved a PM about this, so I will post the same response here for clarity:

If your ACP Navigation is NOT showing, do this:

Open up cpnav_paypal_donations.xml from your /includes/xml file and edit the 2nd line that reads:

<navgroups product="vBulletin">

and make it read:

<navgroups product="vbulletin">

Then upload it to: /forum/includes/xml/

I know this was already posted, but it wasn't clear for some people as to how to do it.

Ive installed this, the install seemed to go smoothly.

Now I may be going blind, but I cant find anywhere to set donation goals?
Also, its not possible to enter a donation on the donate page?

You can't donate until you add a button. Do you have the three options outlined in this screenshot?

Where do you get the screen you are looking at in your pic... I also can go to donate.php on my system and see it and I have settings under my vBoptions in the admin - but do not see the pic you are showing.... No where do I see the buttons for goals and the others that you have?

BTW, when I upgraded to 3.5 I installed all the vB files into a new directory so there cant be any old files in there causing issues.

I also reverted all templates straight afer the install so modded templates should not be an issue either.

Im running the default vB3 style at the moment so there shouldant be any issues from weird styles either.

The other Hacks I have installed are all plugins or products.

well, i have tried all the tips suggested..and still get nothing in the admincp, and donate.php is empty..

Looks like i will have to wait for a Gold release thats working fully...
I did use it on 307..and worked great..so was a little dissapoited this never worked...

Do you have the 'paypal donations' section in your AdminCP? I don't mean the one under all settings, but the one on the left menu column? If not, you need to fix the xml file as addressed within the last few pages and reinstall.

Revert your postbit or postbit_legacy (depending on which threaddisplay you're using), then open that template and find the IM icons line (aim, yahoo, etc), and put this below it:
The uninstaller doesn't remove this code, so every time you reinstall it adds this code to that template again, and eventually breaks the layout or shows multiple icons per user.

Did you edit the xml file? vBulletin needs to be changed to vbulletin (it's a case issue) in the product line near the top. That's the only thing preventing the admincp section from being installed correctly.

After the script places the tables?

I can't recall off-hand, but it was near the end of the process. After getting the error, I would refresh the admin and see the options to "unistall" and would run that just fine. I am however VERY new to PHP & MySQL & vBulletin (I'm a ColdFusion Developer on Window's systems ... ColdFusion/MSSQL/FuseTalk advanced user).

Only the option to uninstall? Not the other 3 options:

Plugins Only Install
Templates Only Install

I dit it a bit an other.
I looked op all the templates in mysql with the user "Paypal donations"
There i found, like you said; postbit and postbit_legacy
there i delete one of the two time of the link like you gave me.
Next to the template of postbit end postbit_legacy i needed to delete this line once from MEMBERINFO

Yes, I saw all 4 options. Didn't try any of the others. Come to find out that the unistall didn't work. Since I am in the testing stages on setting up this board, I simply deleted the DB and recreated the boards from scratch ... takes 3 minutes ... much easier in this instance than spending hours tracking down template fragments.

Anyway, you could use the other 3 options as well... And the later on, parhaps, you'll need to delete some things in the templates

Turns out I didnt upload the changed file... :nervous:

Now uploaded and vollia!!! the menu appears.

I'm running a clean install of vb3.5 gold and have the problems I've been asking about. THe thread starter must have fell off the face of the earth? And no one else acknowledges me so I'm assuming my problem is uber difficult?

Good luck with it. If I don't hear anything by today, I'm gonna have to uninstall and click the uninstall button :(
