No such monster in my vb3.01 or am I blind

I had the same problem.. What you need to do is go to
Admincp>> Styles & Templates>>search for bbcode_quote, open that template and replace it with the code from ht etext file.

Hey Dexter.. Any luck making a dark image for this hack?

Thanks

I have had this installed and it works fine for the most part. My question is, is it possible to have the size of the quote "bubble" automaticaly resize depending on the amount of text inside the quote? As you can see from my screen shot, mine has a lot of "extra" space inside and it doesn't look that good.

Thanks for any help

Loxias 05-20-2004 07:03 PM

I'm having an interesting issue. I wanted it left aligned in my posts so I added the align="left" and wound up with this. Suggestions? Adding three line breaks at the end of the table seemed to fix it if there's only a small amount of text but not for larger amounts.

There was also a typo in the code for RoundedQuotes_vB3[1].0.1.txt:
style="margin-top: 5px; marin-bottom: 5px; width:$stylevar[codeblockwidth];"

Missed a g for the margin. :)

It was easier than i thought:

Here's what i did:

1. Log into admin panel
2. Go to Styles manager -> Edit all templates
3. Open the BB Code category and doubleclick on the BB code QUOTE template
4. PASTE the .txt attach of the first message in this thread
5. Upload quotes folder to your /forums/images/misc folder

Try it! ;)

58sniper 08-13-2004 07:30 PM

Okay, I have a question. Has anyone with a static width site had a problem with this stretching the width? I'm trying to track down a problem, and I keep coming back to this hack....

BestReseller 08-21-2004 03:12 PM

For those who have a style with static width, download the txt file and replace the code again. I've changend the width from fixed to a percentage width. Now the quote box resize according to the content in the quote, and just to the 100% without going beyond the width of the postbit table.

regards.

I cant read that post as it is in a different language.

awesome works NICE!

may want to put those vb3 instructions on the first page though.

imported_Sc0rpion 10-16-2004 05:18 PM

Great work love It :)

I noticed a few members asking for images to use on dark forums, I had to convert them for myself so I thought I'd share ;)

The images make white speech bubbles with a transparent background, all optimised. hope this helps a few people out.

the wiz 10-17-2004 02:26 AM

I don't know what the deal is here, but when I go into the BB code mananger, I don't see the list of BB codes.

Look at the post by Turbid mate, just a few posts above yours ;)

How many styles do you have on your forum? You must edit the bbcode_quote template for every style on your forum. Did you perhaps overlook this?

This mod worked fine for me, easy to install and easy to undo.

thanks

I like it but it does give off a young vibe. Is there a mod where its not so round? its seems very 18, Hillary Duffish.

Is it just me? Its hot dont get me wrong. Just get this young vibe from it.

It works but I still get this white line across the text. How can I get rid of it and also can something be done to wrap the quote just around the text and not all the way?? Thanks

Ok I got it to work, but when not quoting a member, just using [quote]test[_/quote] it still brings up the Orginally posted by: field without the username...how can I fix this to take out this field.
