Hi DragonByte Tech,

There is a same mod but for vB4?

I really like this mod and want to have it on my forum :)

Not at this time, no.

I have tried to replicate this issue @ your site using the same testing methodology reported by the other user. I tried posting a new thread, and I tried replying to a thread. Both actions presented the correct thanks/like count in the postbit (after re-enabling the display for one of your buttons).

I forgot to mention in my previous posts; I saw the issue about the blank forum topics, my guess is that it's to do with deleted content. I updated the SQL query for fetching new entries accordingly.

Hello Fillip,

I am having another issue that I just noticed. When I take my forum offline I get a soft error, a white page that says software error when any dragonbyte product is enabled. If I disable both the info panels and thanks product the board goes offline without error displaying the board is offline.

Could you please elaborate? What do you mean, "software error"?

This is what appears when either of my DB products are left enabled when pulling the site offline:

DragonByte Tech 07-03-2016 07:13 PM

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be currently possible for our products to function while the site is offline, sorry :(

I don't know why vBulletin 5 decided to make every single API call from templates fail with that error but I have found no way around it.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help :(

5.2.3 not work?
Thanks friend

DragonByte Tech 08-22-2016 07:53 PM

I don't believe this has been explicitly tested with vB 5.2.3 just yet.

When I turn my forum off anyone (not logged in) coming to the forum gets this error:

A System Error has occured.

The software is experiencing a systems error.

You should attempt to repeat your last action. If this error occurs again, please contact the site administrator.

Which I assume is related to this Dragonbytes software.

Well the issue isn't so much for the mods to run, but that that weird error shows instead of simply "Forums Closed for Maintenance" / "Forums Offline" etc. The weird error shows because of your mods.

---

I am trying to track down database errors (My SQL Server has gone away)...Do your mods, the ones I have on my vb5 forum - do they use GET requests for API calls ?

Those would be the vBShout v6 (vB5) [AJAX] and the Advanced Post Thanks / Like v3 (vB5) [AJAX] mods.

Do they use GET requests?

noypiscripter 09-27-2016 09:21 PM

<a href="http://vbmods.rocks/blogs/vbulletin-5-tips-and-tricks/532-how-to-enable-debug-mode-in-vbulletin-5-for-selected-ip-addresses-only" target="_blank">Enable debug mode</a> to see the detailed PHP error. From there you would know what the issue is and possibly what is causing the error.

mdawg 09-30-2016 01:40 PM

We've tried everything to track down the cause.

As part of this debugging process, I just need to know if these two apps use GET requests for API calls?

noypiscripter 09-30-2016 06:56 PM

You could inspect in the browser dev tools (F12) Network tab and observe the dbtech ajax calls. I don't know the AJAX URLs are for the calls but I guess it will be obvious and you could easily identify it.

DragonByte Tech 09-30-2016 07:36 PM

API calls are not performed using AJAX, they are performed using the {vb:data} template tag which is then resolved into a PHP function call during run-time.

Just installed on 5.2.4 and it was a clean install.

Tested each button and they record and display in the postbit as described.

The 5.2.4 instance was a clean install not an upgraded board database.

The setting only covers emails, at the time of creating this modification the Notifications interface for vB5 didn't exist.

At this time there's no way to disable those PMs.

Fillip

mbgelsin 02-24-2017 10:41 PM

Actually I wasn't getting notifications, I was only getting messages. I had to comment out the code that did that and reupload the product.

daddybird292 03-28-2017 01:32 AM

This was my favorite mod on VB4x...... does it work with 5.3?

mdawg 05-16-2017 03:13 AM

All of the DbTech Mods have minor issues on vb5, but I continue to run this Mod and a couple others from them, on my 5.3.0 forum.

Actron 03-31-2018 02:27 PM

Can't find this option in Lite: Require a Button Click: Allows you to hide the content of a post, or hie an attachment, until the person clicks a button on the post.
The Pro version = Advanced Post Thanks / Like (vB5) [Beta] for 84.95$? If yes and it work with 5.4 i will buy it! Great!

TheLastSuperman 05-29-2018 12:41 AM

Is this lite version complete? By that I mean as a "Lite" modification it can function on it's own entirely without use of the pro mod or files? I'm not sure but something seems amiss here...

The reason I'm asking is, in the readme.txt file it states:
Quote:

/*================================================= =====================*\
|| 3. First Time Installation / Upgrade ||
\*================================================ ======================*/

1. Upload all files from the "upload" folder to your forums directory.

2. CHMOD the following folders to 0777
/core/packages/dbtechthanks/vbactivity_type

3. In AdminCP -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> Add/Import Product
in the "OR import the XML file from your server" put

./packages/dbtechthanks/xml/product_dbtechthanks.xml

4. Configure your Usergroup settings by clicking "Manage Buttons" under
"DBTech - Post Thanks" in your AdminCP navigation menu, then
editing each button and setting your usergroup permissions from there.
However the folder and .xml file are not present in the current .zip file you have uploaded here to vbulletin.org, I see the last time this was updated was on May 7th of this year, I believe someone forgot to include all the required files for the "Lite" version in the new .zip file will you please check this and correct? Thanks :D

The zip file is correct and all files are present & accounted for.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2018/05/4.png

As you can see, the folder and XML file is indeed present.

Whether the instructions work in the latest version of vB5, I can't say, as whether the "core" part of the folder is needed for the vB5 AdminCP to work as intended seemed to yoyo back and forth between versions the last time I looked at vB5.

Fillip,

It appears my download wasn't complete (rare that happens but it did) after I re-downloaded the .zip file just now the folder is present, I extracted to a different location to compare and low and behold the one from just the other night is missing the folder so perhaps something was amiss on my end at said time of download!

Thanks for confirming :D.

Hi there! Is it possible to make new "Likes" received go to the Notifications rather than to the Messages?

Whenever a user receives a reaction on some content they have posted, they get a notification.

Can this mod be used to hide links on ver 4 and 5 pls?

LuckyRiver 10-31-2021 10:46 PM

Hi,

Thanks the the mod!

I have the same error as one mentionned in the other add on of vbShout on latest version of vb (5.6.5).

DBTech - Post Thanks Feed
Collapse
An unexpected error was returned: 'Call to undefined method vB_UserContext::getReadChannels()'

Is this a known issue?

Thanks!

mdawg 11-16-2021 05:02 PM

I am using this on two sites running 5.6.5 with no issues. I haven't tested extensively, but on both sites I was able to Thank / Like a couple of posts.

mdawg 05-19-2022 03:08 AM

I think this finally started having issues, with 5.6.8 I am getting
An unexpected error was returned: 'Call to undefined method vB_UserContext::getReadChannels()'

at top, and the mod stopped working entirely as far as trying to Thank / Like / Dislike posts.
