I have just had from quite a few members that they never see the shoutbox if they are logged in. While they are logged out they can see it but of course can't use it. As soon as they log in they lose it completely. I have used one of the members credentials to test this and in fact it all disappears on log in.

Please fix this. It is a great addition to my forum but like this it is a disadvantage to many.

This is because of the 500 ISE you yourself discovered. Please check your Apache server's error_log file.

On cPanel/WHM systems, this is located in /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log though your system may vary.

I am unable to replicate this issue on your site or on my local test board. Please provide me with the credentials of a user that is affected by this issue.

We are not using Apache or CPanel

In that case you'll need to find the error log yourself or contact your host - you may need to Google to find out where 500 Internal Server Error messages are logged for your system & web server.

I am experiencing a new issue with the shoutbox with vb5.0.3 . Some messages aren't showing even though they are sent, and they are definitely sent as they are currently showing in the downloaded archive. I have tried to clear the cache but this has no success. It also doesn't seem specific with a certain browser, do you have any ideas?

Can you please install the "Firebug" extension in Firefox and inspect its Console when you're sending the shout, to see the status of each AJAX request?

I do not use firefox and I am unable to replicate the issue, however most people on the site have given up due to how many "shouts" are not being sent.

I think I may have worked out how to replicate this issue. It appears that it occurs in all browsers.
When the forum has been opened and logged in (Shout box showing). Then the log in times out, the page on vBulletin doesn't change so it still appears to be logged in and the shout box still shows. This fools the user to think they can just continue to post in the shout box as they can still see everybody else's posts. However when you click onto another page you do actually realise you have been signed out. Is there any way to have this not occur or have vBulletin auto redirect to a log in page when it times out?

Unfortunately not, no :(

If someone posts a shout before their timeout period appears, or they use the "Remember Me" checkbox when logging in, this issue does not occur.

i tested this on my forum, it didn't work for me, maybe it does not support VB 5.0.4 ? if not when it will support it because im considering of buying it.

Im having a problem with the shoutbox, its installed correctly but when i close the website the index shows as :There is a serious error and the page cannot be rendered.

but when i open the website, this problem are solved, when i removed the shoutbox and closed the website no render problem.

I just installed this today on VB 5.0.4 but the installation stopped unexpectedly.

I found it's in the 610a3.php install file - the "metakeywords" field didn't exist in my 'page' table (I'm not sure why - but it was a fresh install of vb 5.0.4).

So, I just commented out line 36 in that file and it completed.

Now it's working - it looks great so far. I'll also be looking to buy the Pro version of this (and the Arcade)

I'm not expecting a reply - just letting you know (in case others get a similar problem trying this out).

Actually, that entire file is obsolete as of 5.0.4 - I had forgotten I made it that way :p

I've fixed it in the Lite (& Pro) version available @ our site for now.

Can you please let me know how can i add the chat in every thread page? The Site Builder allows me to add on a single page at a time :) I can find the required templates if i need to add some sort of code inside the template.

There's no form of "all page" deployment in the vB5 version due to the inclusion of the Site Builder, sorry :(

Another bug, sometimes people can't chat, i mean the message is not sent. To fix this issue, i clear the cookie for the entire forum, reauth and it works but its annoying of course ;)

Also, if i create a Global Room, the tab appears on top but when i click it, the chat is cleared, the button is gone and i am back to the original ShoutBox

Doesn't play nice with 5.0.5 currently. Users can send messages but not view them. The chat just stays plain white. If you turn on "Edit Site", all off a sudden the chat messages appear.

But that doesn't help with normal users..

I'm getting the following error, sometimes hundreds of these a day. I've pulled out the important part, but I can send the entire stack trace email if you'd like.

I believe it is not compatible with the latest PHP. I had the same issue, I rolled back. Works fine now.
