Yes. Also using Chrome.

Only happens when I have the mod enabled....

Did you download the right version? You need to download Sidebar Anywhere by BOP5v210.zip

Then once installed you have to go to the mod settings and enable it on specific pages- by default it is only enabled in the Activity Stream.

Instead of? I'm not sure how you would disable the blog sidebar, maybe via css display:none. You can add blog as a custom page, it works, I've tested it.

Realistically not anytime soon. I'm working on upgrading my 3.x site to VB 4 so after that I may go back and add some useful features to this mod.

Any idea why having the sidebar everywhere causes formatting issues with non-desktop browsers like on phones and tablets?

My guess is because the mobile browsers do something to fake their widths, which works well most of the time.

I recently got a tablet (finally) I will be playing with it and see if there is anything I can do.

I reverted some template in the activity stream template when I was doing changes to colors, etc. after doing so, it removed your modification. Tried removing and reinstalling several time, but can never get it to display. Any tips on forcing it to work again?

BTW, that formatting issue I posted only happens when the sidebar is not on the forum index. So, essentially anywhere else.

Just tested and on my cell phone (Galaxy Note II) the sidebar still shows even with disable sidebar anywhere if mobile device detected set to yes.

Confirming you did install the mobile detect mod?
Is your mobile browser set to display desktop versions of sites?

Using the default style as my template. Ensured proper user-groups selected and enabled on activity stream and a few other locations.

Mod is not showing up.

Sure the root cause is based on me reverting some templates.

Did you try uninstalling / reinstalling the mod again?

If it doesn't work on the default style after the mod is reinstalled it can't be a template issue- the mod is made to work with the default templates so reverting them should never break it.

I don't know how xcache could effect it but if it "remembered" the settings it was never truly uninstalled.

You can PM me login info, I will take a look, and try to remove the product completely.

That was my mistake, works perfectly now.

Btw, thank you for implementing my suggestion you didn't seem to like the idea at first. But... this solves all issues :)

Hello everyone. I have a little problem:

It seems that the style of the tag cloud (bigger font if the tag is more used) is lost when the sidebar is shown in other place different from forum.php

Make sure you downloaded: Sidebar Anywhere by BOP5 v220.zip

Forumdisplay will be a yes/no option in settings. Just choose YES.

Having a problem with the width when changing it in the style vars?

It works on the forumhome, but it does not work the width on any other page???

It stays at 250px, I would like to make it 200px on all pages not just the forumhome page?

EDIT

Additional problem:
It seems that turning off mobile devices is not functioning, members are reporting its still on using iphones, ipads, and androids?

In Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Forum Sidebar and Block Options you can choose Left or Right. Note this only works for the newer version of this mod- "Sidebar Anywhere" not Sidebar for Activity Stream.

The width should obey the stylevar forum_sidebar_width.

I have this mod working perfectly with all the pages I want except one. For some reason attachmentgallery|attachmentgallery isn't working with the following:

Looks like I left out a special CSS template if the tagcloud is used.

For now you can fix by going to Admin CP -> Products & Plugins -> Plugin Manager

Edit the template Sidebar Anywhere CSS

Erase everything in the plugin and replace it with this code:

I'm wondering how to make it work on tags.php, which gets lots of hits. The problem is that there seems to be no template associated with that.
