Ah yes, it doesn't respect that particular setup, because it's virtually impossible to do so.

Forum exclusion is a Pro-only feature so there is no way to resolve this in the Lite version unfortunately :(

hpidriver 04-09-2012 03:42 AM

So then the Pro version would eliminate this issue entirely?

vivoperdio 04-09-2012 07:37 AM

Any live demo site?

Alan_SP 04-09-2012 11:53 AM

You can check all DBTech's mod on their site.

They also have demo site where you can check ACP and test mods as an admin. But, I think that demo site is momentarily down.

You'd be able to exclude that specific forum from Live Wall, yeah :)

When will be the next release?

DragonByte Tech 05-05-2012 10:31 PM

We don't currently have an update for this mod planned, but we never make ironclad plans more than a month or so ahead in time :)

Fillip

thecore762 05-06-2012 02:19 AM

The reason I was asking was because you guys fixed the forum block on the right side when there are long links posted so it doesn't go outside of the box.

Forum Live Feed & User Wall v1.2.3

Is it possible to remove the quotes around the status updates?

DragonByte Tech 06-08-2012 05:20 PM

Not currently, no. Sorry :(

Just updated to the latest version of this on vB 4.1.11, and got the following error. We've noticed this error on upgrading other DBTech mods recently as well. Any idea what could be causing it? We don't have this issue with any other mods.

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in [path]/includes/adminfunctions_plugin.php on line 1557

Replied to in the duplicate of this post in the other thread :)

In regards to permissions issue, there is a forum "spy" version of a live feed, similar the the new Activity Stream, that only displays posts in the live feed to folks who have access to that thread.

This looks very cool but without the ability to keep non-subscribed members from viewing private forums / threads, I can't use it. It sounds like the Pro version will only let us determine who can view the feed and who can't - not by thread permissions. Is that correct?

Another great mod, however. Thanks.

DragonByte Tech 06-23-2012 05:38 PM

In both the Lite and Pro versions, Live Wall will not display threads that are in forums users cannot view, or lack the password for.

If they can view the forum and thread titles, but not thread content - or if they can only view their own threads, then Live Wall will still display the thread.

The Pro version lets you flat out exclude forums from showing up, so if one of your forums matched the above exception then you could exclude that forum.

Fillip

tsptom 06-23-2012 06:06 PM

Strange. That's not what I am seeing. I have signed in as a user without permissions and completely logged out, yet both times I could still see the private threads posts in the live feed. When I click on the thread link it tells me I don't have permission to read that thread, but I can view the contents of the post in the live feed wall.

Maybe I have something set wrong? ty

By the way, I plan to buy a few Pro mods from you after trying the lites. Not only are they all cool, but your support here has been awsome!

DragonByte Tech 06-23-2012 06:13 PM

Can you enter the forum permissions manager for that specified forum for guests, and take screenshots of the permission setup? If so, maybe I can get to the bottom of this :)

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2012/06/3.gif

And here are the ones with permission...

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2012/06/4.gif

If you need anything else, let me know. If you'd like the link to the live feed I can PM you. I've changed the name from the default to keep memebrs from getting to it.

tsptom 06-23-2012 06:59 PM

This private forum is working correctly in the live wall feed and I see "Can View Forum" is set to '"no" for registered users, so that must be the difference.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2012/06/1.gif

I do want some of the private forums to show on the forum homepage, but I don't want registered users to be able to read the threads.

The difference between them is, one is for moderators (not visible) and the other private forums are for folks who have subscribed (paid) for access to these forums, so I want the nonsubsribers to see that there are forums they can't read unless they subscribe.

If you are looking for some input, I wouldn't mind seeing the thread title but no content in the feed for forums with "Can view forum" and "Cannot view thread" permissions. That's what Valter does with his Advanced Forum Stats mod.

DragonByte Tech 06-23-2012 11:34 PM

I can see that, would you mind reposting the input in our support forum over at www.dragonbyte-tech.com as a feature request?

That way, we can be sure that it won't get missed when we're updating the product next :)

Thanks :)

I set to wyświetlało me the same status update, I turned on the manager sidebar blocks and columns, but unfortunately the Live Feed sidebar is not displayed at all ...

What to do?

GONUMBER6 08-01-2012 04:31 AM

I randomly get this database error, not often, just sometimes. Can you tell me what it means?

DragonByte Tech 08-11-2012 08:09 PM

Have you actually added a forum block via the Forum Blocks Manager?

Fillip

AURFSCAN 08-13-2012 04:24 AM

hiya DBT

any way to disable display settings and privacy settings for members in that the feed will display everthing and they have no choice in what gets displayed

eg.
1. just me
2. everyone
3. your contacts
4. your friends

so in effect disable 1,3, and 4

That's not currently possible, sorry :(

You can disable the plugins that integrate into the UserCP, but that won't undo any existing customisations.

DB, can I ask something.

Is this the activity stream and wall in one. I.e they are intergrated, or is it two seperate thing?

I just don't want to have an 'activity stream' and then a 'wall', they should be in one as facebook is. Ifyswim?

deverill2010 08-21-2012 06:17 AM

DB? Will this do what I want or is it two separate pages? I'm referring to the paid version by the way.

DragonByte Tech 08-21-2012 06:07 PM

Yes, it's integrated. User Wall is what happens if you click a username - you get taken to their personalised stream similar to Facebook.

If you are using the Pro version, please post support questions in our Pro support forums :)

Regarding compatability with this mod - vBLive Status Updates which one is it exactly? As there are a couple from what I can see.

deverill2010 08-23-2012 06:26 PM

I thought I would test it out and ry to customise it. But..

How do I display the status box on showthread?

I have copied this -

Code:

        <vb:if condition="$vboptions['dbtech_livewall_status_maxlength']">
<div class="collapse" style="padding-bottom:10px;">
        <h2 class="blockhead">{vb:rawphrase dbtech_livewall_whats_on_mind} <a class="collapse" id="collapse_dbtech_livewall_status" href="{vb:raw relpath}#top"><img src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_button}/collapse_40b.png" alt="" /></a></h2>
        <div class="blockbody formcontrols settings_form_border" id="dbtech_livewall_status">
                <div class="blockrow">
                        <input type="text" class="primary textbox" name="livewall_textfield" data-command="status" style="width:100%" />
                        <br />
                        <div style="margin-top:6px;"><input type="button" class="button" name="livewall_submit" data-command="status" value="{vb:rawphrase post}" /> <span class="dbtech_livewall_smallfont">[<span name="livewall_remainingchars" data-command="status">{vb:var vboptions.dbtech_livewall_status_maxlength}</span>]</span></div>
                </div>
        </div>
</div>
        </vb:if>

And put it in SHOWTHREAD where the status box shows correctly, however it doesn't work. I can type in it but it doesn't post the status update.

I have some questions, too:

Whats happend with:
- Blog integration
- Content (.php) CMS integration
- integration from your other mods (e.g. User Status & Moods, Quiz...)

Can you do this?

Nothing's happened with it thus far, we'll take it into consideration for future versions :)
