I don't understand. I must be missing something. I thought "free" classified was the only way to run this as is. I didn't intend to charge anything, nor did I see how to.

Does anyone else have this same issue? This is kind of important as you'll only know about the message if you actually visit the site. I think many advertisers will want to know as soon as they have a message.

I looked in the database and the only difference I can find is in the pmtext table. Messages send through the Classifieds don't have any values in the touserarray field. Not sure if this is the problem or not.

This checkbox is visible only to those who have permission to Moderate, as a way to help them to promote an Ad which belongs to a user who does not belongs to a usergroup with priority 1. To remove such an from premiums, you need to edit and uncheck this.

As I said before, a user can't see that checkbox. Is visible only to moderators.

I can assume the reason. Mary didn't liked to use vB's datamanager as a way to keep her mods compatible with upcoming version. So in this case just added the message in the database (but in correct way) without to use datamanager, and thus I believe that this is the point. Without to be 100% sure, I believe that adding the message using datamanager the emails will send. I'll try and I'll be back to this soon.

I think that this is a vB bug as it happen to me when I uninstalled the vB Project Tools. Seems that on uninstallation something is messing with the removal of cronjobs. Try to delete from vb_installation/includes/cron/ the file microclassifieds_cron.xml

Thanks for the reply. I went through earlier and removed all of the files that were part of the original upload, and I haven't had the error yet. I uninstalled earlier this morning (around 12 hours ago), and I got the error 5-6 times. If I don't get it again in 48 hours, then I think I'm safe.

Don't worry, I don't believe that you'll get this error again. Only the fact that you got this error 5-6 times only, means that it was coming from the cronjob, because that file really tried to load the phrase group microclassifieds. I'm wondering why vB does removes the cronjobs when uninstalls a product.

I can not find what if anything I am doing wrong. When I click to go to classifieds /classifieds.php) I get; vBulletin Message - you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

And I am the administrator!
Any ideas?

Even if you're the administrator, you need to assign the right permissions for this product (as for any 3nd party product). Goto admincp-> Usergroups and assign permissions to each usergroup.

The file which is related to usergroup permissions is: bitfields_microclassifieds.xml and it must be locating at vb_installation_folder/includes/xml .

1. Be sure that you haven't uploaded by mistake to microclassifieds/includes
2. If you're sure that the file is at the correct folder vb_installation_folder/includes/xml, then do a trick as most probably vB engine messed it.
   1. Goto your admincp->Usergroups and enter to any usergroup. It's a fake action as you'll do nothing there.
   2. When you'll see the list of the permissions, keep the page open and connect with your FTP client to your site and delete the fire: vb_installation_folder/includes/xml/bitfields_microclassifieds.xml
   3. Back to your admincp sceen, click cancel and close the the usergroup permissions.
   4. Click again Usergroups and enter again to any usergroup. Most likely you'll see a message "Rebuilding Bitfields" and after it you'll directs you to the usergroup page.
   5. Now upload again the file bitfields_microclassifieds.xml
   6. Follow steps 3 & 4. You'll see again the message "Rebuilding Bitfields" but at this time you'll see the microCLASSIFIEDS permissions. Please note that most likely they'll be a bit before the end.

I would agree. It would make it easier for new users to get started. I increased my font size and changed the color in that "row" of text, but could only do it so much as it ran into the search box text.

by "free" classified means, ads with no price attached to them. more for display and contact without any buy price/bid etc...

Ah, I understand - sorry, I'm suffering from one track mind. :) I've been trying to figure out how to get a cut of sales, like eBay. Or some way to charge a little bit for Premium Ads, or for Store Ads, or some easy way to make a little money for the site.

Have you already gone live with Classifieds? Most probably I'll change a bit the functionality of the extra fields. Instead to define some extra fields as searchable, I've already added 5 empty fields in the main table, which you can setup exactly as you're doing now with the extra fields. The big difference is on the performance. Much less queries as I don't need to join tables, and thus not server overload. Also it will be easier to add them in listings.

No, not yet. I still need to move some of the existing Classifieds to this one and do some more testing. We also recently installed a site translator and had to fix a few issue with that concerning the Classifieds software.

I have done some database development myself. Less queries and better database design is always good. :)

Is it possible to import Classifieds from Photopost classifieds?

Is there a way to make it so this classified mod works on ( fluid ) forums? For some reason, it's set to a certain "px" and will not extend on over to the whole site... does anyone have any idea where I can change the settings for this?

I am also waiting for an update w/ extra fields. is it possible for you to increase the field count to 10 or 15 ? i have a setup where i have more fields, limiting to 5 extra fields might be a problem (or is it the case that these 5 are searchable, along with more extra fields that are non-searchable? then it would be ok).

I'll not remove the current functionallity. The extra fields as is now will be there. The 5 fields that I talked about before are for those who want to have 5 additional searchable fields in the search form.

Be sure that the file functions.php has been correctly uploaded to microclassifieds/includes/ directory.

The design is fluid. It uses 70% for the main block and 30% of the sidebar. Just check the microclassifieds/includes/classifieds.css the width of:

1. Yes you can. Goto Usergroup permissions and assign rights for each group
2. Goto Plugins Manager (Just below the Products Manager) and uncheck microCLASSIFIEDS Tab
3. In microCLASSIFIEDS General settings
4. From the Phrase manager, or translating the phrases at the end of product_microclassifieds.xml and then re-importing it.

Keep in mind that there are 10,000 active ads there for testing how fast is. Try the keyword search by entering eg pio or any word that you're seeing as title (or keywords) on the ads there. Keep your eyes on the main block to check the speed. Finally click the close button to see again the ...original content!!

Clicked the advanced search and enjoy so many filters, but still speedy. Try to change the ordering as you like.

Give a look in the effect of the Random classifieds. Finally click on Get RSS on the right top. Have you even seen so configuranle feeds?

Looks good, as a feature request I need my members to be able to promote that they are donating x% of the sale to my site and their donation totals are viewable in their classifieds profile.

You can do it by adding an extra field type text. Is easy, and it will appears on the view ad page.

Deleting old ads automatically is essential but it would be nice if there would be an automatic email, letting the member know one of their classifieds is about to expire. And a link to renew that classified with just one click.

I tested a classified feedback but somehow was not showing up. I don't really see the need for the delay and it may be confusing if it is not showing up right away.

The same questions from my side. Pro looks really great!
