Where did you add the answer?

If you added it to the default question set, that won't work for existing applications. You need to add it to the questions for the Position.

Go to AdminCP->Application Positions and select Questions for that position and edit the question there.

If you did that, and the new answers don't appear then it is a caching issue with either your server or your browser. Clear the cache and reload.

That is exactly how it works to begin with. All Postions are listed under the Application Type.

1) In Application Forum Settings, set Activate in Navbar Tabs to 'Yes'.

2) In Application Types, set Show in Navbar Tabs to 'Yes' for your application type.

3) In Application Positions, set the Application Group to the Application Type you want to have it appear in.

Ok now that I am getting a feel for this mod I would like to ask if there is any intention down the road to be able to add a field in the application to allow attachments, like screenshots or whatever? I know one mod does allow this and now that I have set up several application types I realized this wasn't enabled and could use for sure and don't want to have to redo what I have already done. Furthermore I am not a script guru and therefore would like to make a request to add this feature into your next release.

But for now, I am swamped with server moves and site re-designs. So, it may be a while before I can get around to it.

Thats cool and FULLY understandable. ALot of work involved in both areas, lol. I know first hand as I have had to switch servers a couple of times due to me having my own webhosting biz and not happy with webhosting companies. :p

I'm looking for a way to go straight to the application form. Are either of the following two methods possible:

1. Bypass "application-forms.php?appid=1" and go straight to "application-forms.php?do=start"
   
2. Remove the radio button and not be required to tick it off to successfully press the "Start Application" button

There is no way to do that at this time.

At my board I usually discuss withing the entire staff (Mods, SM, Admins) who we will like to be a mod. We bring the username into a new thread and we all discuss about that user making it easier since some of us know that user from other forums and know more about that user then other staff.

So I think on the feature you have here to auto make a New Thread on a certain forum. It will be nice to add the thread as a POLL with questions like
YES to be a Mod
NO to be a mod

that will make it easier for other mods or staff can discuss about that user and the sametime can vote for yes or no..

There is an add-on at my site that does exactly this. And promotes the member based on the results of the poll.

having issues with it making a new thread after the application has been posted. it does not create a new thread at all....

1) Make sure Report in New Thread is set to 'Yes'.

2) Make sure you've selected a forum for the post.

3) If you have the Poster ID set to 0, make sure that the usergroup also has permission to post in the forum you have selected.

Any chance to include line with "add attachments" for .doc, .txt files? I'm using this form for recruiting of new editors, moderators and I want some articles, etc. They must upload it on free fileshare servers and it's a bit sucky :)

I would kike to have a convenient way to order questions like Vbulletin has for ordering forums etc. It took me a lot of time to click for ordering the Application Questions

I'm having issues when I'm trying to allow users to post applications.

I have it set that all usergroups can make an application, but it continues to say (on a test account and on my own account) that we're not currently accepting applications. All the settings are set to allow applications.

PS: Now there are suddenly no application types showing in the list anymore. It's very confusing.

You've probably already done this but anyway....

Double check these settings....

Application Form Settings/Accept Applications - YES
Application Types/Edit/This Application Type is Active - YES
Application Positions/Edit/This Position is Active - YES

Also in these sections...

Application Types/Edit/Allowed Usergroups
Application Positions/Edit/Allowed Usergroups

...make sure you have selected the usergroups to allow.


If it's none of those (and now your app types has vanished) it might be worth trying to re-upload/re-install.

There isn't a dropdown list available at this time.

Your only option for a single selection would be radio buttons (Single Selection).

If the the birthday field is used the mod will check to make sure its in the correct format, ie. 02/14/2012

If the phone # field is used the mod will check to make sure the number is in the correct format, ie. 555-555-5555

There is no detection of what type of information is being requested from a member. So, there is no way to validate a date or phone number response.

Also, I just ran across something similar to what you want for phone numbers in a major paid project. That phone number format you want to use is only valid in some places. The entire world doesn't operate on US phone number formats. (ie: ###-###-########## is a valid format) ;)

Well I mean just a to only allow numbers and hyphens!

As I said, there is no detection of why type of information is being requested from a member.

So if you ask for a phone number and make it a single line text box, there is no way of looking for the hyphen in the response.

Very nice mod nhawk, I use the poll and promote as well. :up:

We use it mainly for a clan application and have it set up with a post count mimimum of 10.
When members try to access the application with less then 10 posts they receive this error - This is the wrong impression because we are accepting applications. I do see the phrase - when I search for it.

Am I missing a setting?

Thank you for pointing this out. There is a bug that is eliminating the applications completely if the post count is low.

For now, change the advapp_off message to be the same as the post count message.

I'll work on a fix within the next week or so.
