It will appear at the bottom of your vBulletin Options after all the standard vB settings as 'Word Links by BOP5'. All of the settings for my other plugins seems to appear there in the order I installed them.

What word is linking?

As explained this is something that can be set in the options. Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Word Links by BOP5 (near the bottom but not always at the bottom.)

In the options you can set new window or same window for all links. If you setup a csv file you can specify for individual links.

It is possible. No promises. Will be sure to post here if any update.

Is it possible to add a hover over box to the link? That would be very useful. IE before they click it says "Amazon - Be sure to use your XYZ forum memeber benefit" etc...

Not possible with current mod.

I am now linking to other parts of my forum and to external web-sites I run that sell products.

Couldn't be easier to do.

Does this mod affects the already existing links or only text?

For example, if I have the word amazon, I understand that it will transform it into a link per my settings but if I already have something like this:

"I bought it from amazon" the plugin will try to put a link on the amazon word that already has a link under it?

It doesn't currently work in the CMS.

It will ignore existing links.

If not a fairly easy edit of the plugin code would do... If so it just isn't possible without some significant editing of the mod.

Word Links FREE 2.0 Released!

Happy to announce the release of Word Links Free 2.0-
I have improved the efficiency of the code by putting the main function into one external php file.

I have added a new option to disable in specific styles.

I have made usergroup and forum selections easier (now point and click, no need to look up id numbers.)

I have added unique phrases for the auto-link notices to differentiate between posts and messages.

I have also released a new GOLD version which works in even more places. See the first/top thread for details.

If you're happy with the older 1.6 version and don't need the new features feel free to continue using it- I wouldn't expect any functional difference.

But if you do upgrade be aware there is now a php file that needs to be uploaded to your /includes/ directory and you should re-check your options/settings as some have changed.

No you will not have to re-enter your sites if you upgrade. Don't uninstall the mod, just follow the upgrade instructions and it will be fine.

Is there any known conflict between this mod and [DBTech] Advanced @User Tagging v2 (vB4)? We'd intended to use the Word Links added to make automatic links to our Bulbapedia wiki, mostly for character & Pok?mon names. But at the same time, we've also got a lot of forum users who've incorporated those character & Pok?mon names into their forum usernames. Seems like both addons would be going for the same words quite frequently, and I'm not sure how they'd handle that conflict.

This mod should ignore any text in a link and if it doesn't it can probably be quickly fixed by editing the "custom regex" setting on the mod.

I know of no known conflicts, but if you find one simply disabling the mod will undo any changes- no changes are made to the database.

If that's how the addon works, then I'm guessing the problems we're having are likely to not be a conflict, but something to do with that other mod and vB4.1.11 then. That's a bit of a relief.

If you can give me a link to a post with the advanced user tagging mod in use I can check for sure.

I would like to turn this phrase:

but with this addon text phrases can only turned into LINKS.. :(

Looks like you are trying to force Amazon referral credits. It's a good idea but something that simple might backfire- what if "ref" is used on a non-amazon link?

That said vBulletin has a built in "Replacement Variable Manager" in Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Replacement Variable Manager.

You set that per style and you could set it up to replace /ref= with whatever you want.

Can I recommend that on your site that you allow non-registered members to see the pricing of your product? I shouldn't have to sign up to your site just to see to know the price.

Without talking too much about price here, I thank you for your feedback. Prices are visible to guests as they are part of the forum name (so they are in the breadcrumb and would be visible if viewing the forum index) however if you didn't notice them I am sure other's haven't either.

I will post them in a more prominent place. It was never my intention to get people to register to see pricing.

For SEO use what is this actually doing to the links? Is it using 302 redirects or a better SEO complaint way?

I don't know why you would use a "redirect" - these just make everyday links just the same as if whoever wrote the post included the links themselves- although the mod gives an option if you want "nofollow" or not.

There is no redirecting involved.

There is a check box in the mod settings: Enable link notice? - Set to "No."
