Perfect! Works 1000% :D great job , thanks.

Akyeame Kwame 03-30-2012 09:43 PM

Nominated for MOTM. AME's tool couldn't fully convert but this did the job.

Quickness 05-02-2012 01:50 PM

As long as the format is:

Code:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=#####&feature=####
It will be fine. However, sometimes links look like this:

HTML Code:

http://www.youtube.com/feature?v=#####&watch=####
And this is when this mod doesn't convert the link.

Never seen this url. Maybe this might work:

Go to Settings > Auto Youtube Link Converter, change the following values:

As new regex code:
Code:

/<a href=\"https?:\/\/((.+\.youtube\.com\/((watch)|(feature))\?v=)|(youtu\.be\/))([a-zA-Z0-9-_]+)(.*)?\"( target=\"_blank\")?>.*<\/a>/
As new regex position: 7

Very Nice :)

chrisbeau 05-13-2012 06:07 PM

Nice, any possibility of making it convert the links on the vbadvanced page ?

marccap 05-13-2012 06:39 PM

Added and install - Thanks

gremrock 05-23-2012 03:27 PM

Thanks

BAMGADE800 05-24-2012 12:40 AM

Excellent! Very nice!

Jncocontrol 05-24-2012 08:04 AM

not to be rude, But isn't this pretty much what AME does?

Basically yes, but less bloated I think. For people who just need youtube embeds.
Pick the one you need/want, altough it is fact that you become more beautiful and intelligent if you pick my modification over AME.

XML Error: no element found at Line 0 when importing the XML file from your server

AME (AME3 - Auto Media Embeding and Video Extender) hasn't been updated in over 2 years, isn't supported, and requires a forum user submitted "hack" in order to work (which isn't necessarily a good thing to rely on).

So it appears AME is no longer being developed.

If this mod could continue where AME has left off (auto linking other video sites, and more importantly, capture/regrex page titles for using in the video url linking), that would be awesome. :)

Are you sure the xml file downloaded correctly and is not empty?

You could try to remove blank lines and whitespaces in the first and last lines, but apparently in all other vbulletin versions, this mod works. Not sure what could be wrong with your vb installation

karanyaphong 06-11-2012 11:30 AM

Excellent!

work on 4.2

Romamo 07-03-2012 05:19 AM

Perfect product!

But why this one ignores forum permission "Allow [VIDEO] tag"?

Raptor 07-15-2012 10:57 PM

Works great in 4.1.2

I had to ditch AME3 as it was causing our vb4 to load MASSIVELY and we have a huge dedicated server with just our VB on there (almost 2 million posts and over 55,000 members - so those that say AME3 is working just fine for vb4 are talking sh!t or doesn't have a busy board) - used it on vb3.x for years with no issues - a shame cus it was a really great mod and is hugely underrated as being useful for vb4 - just becuase vb4 has a video button doesn't mean its bloated and an extra step in the posting process)

thanks so much for this script - its very leans and is a great base for doing similar parse requirements too. I also like the mobile browser detected snippet - will come in handy.

Thanks again.

Since the mod uses the default vbulletin functionalities for the actual embedding, maybe your vbulletin options should help.

Eagle Eyes 07-24-2012 09:43 PM

Is it working for the 4.2?

KrU$ty 08-07-2012 03:27 AM

Dev: You mentioned earlier that you would be willing to fix CMS/VbaCMPS functionality, (links don't parse into videos), if you were given admin access to a forum with those features. I'm willing to give said access if it means it will work in these areas.

Sure, that would help.

KrU$ty 08-07-2012 08:15 AM

I've PM'ed you the details.

Would it take a lot of work to make this work in vb 3.8.x?

wally07 11-26-2012 07:14 PM

this works perfectly on 4.2 patch level 2.

Thank you!

I would even go so far as to claim it works in vb3 as well. The way the post system works hasn't changed much.

Would you want to try it out on a test forum if it works?

testerv 11-26-2012 08:55 PM

I'd give it a try.

djbaxter 11-29-2012 01:46 PM

This add-on breaks the built-in vBulletin video bbcode for Facebook videos: see Posting videos from facebook.

Hum, people actually use facebook videos and post them on forums? Silly world.

Jokes aside, I'll see what I can do.

ehmud 12-01-2012 04:58 AM

Great it is :)

PoorGuysGarage 12-26-2012 05:07 PM

I had this installed in my vb 4.2 and it was working great, then it suddenly stopped working.
