Anyway to make it so if your referred and someone buys a subscription they show in a different color or box? We want users to refer people and give them a FREE month for anyone who purchases a subscription.

I am currently on 4.1.5 PL1. When I upgrade to 4.1.7 or above, I will look at it then, since I have not had any reports of it not working on 4.1.7 until now. Are you sure it isn't working or you just don't see it? Look under the Settings link at the top right of the forumhome.

i can see the referral link after clickin the settings.
but what it doesnt show is the number of referred members, can u fix that plz ?

Post a screenshot of what you see. Also look under the About Me tab on the Profile page at the bottom.

This is a weird. I installed this yesterday.. I am having a large number of users saying they never referred anyone, yet their profile shows they referred several people.. Even my own profile shows I referred people I don't believe I have (never used my referral id).. Any idea why this is? Could the referral table be corrupt or the query not correct?

This mod only PULLS (READS) the info, it does not change anything or add to the db in any way. My query is correct. You have an issue somewhere else.

You don't need to give anyone your referral ID link, it's enough that someone uses your username when registering as referral and that's it.

I also have people who referred me as they referral. Some of them I know, some don't, but main thing is, I never used referral link. You couldn't be certain why someone chooses to use someone else as their referral.

On side note, I needed to change instructions (phrase) for error when someone gives wrong (not registered) username as their referral. As you know, when you register, there's a field for your referral. And many users think they need to fill all fields, referral one included. If they give wrong username, system won't let them proceed with registration. That's why there may be some strange referrals.

This referral thing especially might be confusing for unexperienced users who don't know why they can't register. Anyway, this is reason I changed error phrase for wrong referral user, specifying that they don't need to give referral to register.

Maybe some other Mod conflict with this one.

I don't have the settings link at the top of the forum. I just click the user name to go to your profile, but I don't see it when I do go to the profile. I do see the information in the about me. I also added the css changes and still don't see it. Any ideas? Running vb 4.1.5, and 4.1.10.

The settings link and the profile are 2 different links.

Really? I always though it took you to your profile.

Settings = usercp.php
Profile = member.php

One question. Am I able to search by month the referrers?

I'd want to perhaps pay for the referrals but only after I see 2 months activity. So if I was in March, can I put Jan 1st to Jan 31st and see all the possible qualifers?

Currently there is no search by month option available for this mod. I think it would take more time than it is worth as a free mod to add something like that, to be honest.

I have an error atm, when the url is reffererid=, it doesn't show the referrer in the referral box.

If I change it to refferer= it works, but it only shows my Username, regardless of what ID is entered, is this a known problem?

Just installed and it seems to be working great. However, I'm using vba cmps and would like the referral link to go to my index page rather than the forum page. Any way to change the link? And if I did, would it still work correctly?

Is there a way to not show the text box at in the user control panel?

I can only see the referred members count and usernames on MY OWN profile, I cannot view the referred members by others via their about me tab, again I can only see this information on my own profile (admin)

I made the manual template edits, (the member info template and additional css) and uploaded the most recent version of this hack.

Can you look into this please?

Is there any way that you can get a list of the user to see how many each user has referred or do I have to do it manually? Also is there any way of making it so that each time they refer someone they get forum cash or points or something along those lines? Haven't looked into it yet but I have an idea...

This does not appear to be working for me at all on vb4.2. I imported the XML and did the template edits as specified in the files, however I don't see the referral message/link in my user profile.

The referral link in under settings and the count is displayed when clicking the About Me tab.
