waiting for RC2 :)

Bouncer222 01-20-2010 12:24 AM

Well I don't know what there is to take a screenshot of??

If you want you can look here.. www.brotherhoodofgamers.com

If a member has 2 awards, and our settings is set for 3x2 then it would be shifted to the left, meaning it starts off from the left, I would like it to be centered. in posbit_legacy.

BTW: I have a few feature suggestions, Mass Award Giving

-Enter a numerical sequence of IDs at once EX. 3,6,7 (Users with the IDs 3,6, and 7 would receive that award.)
-Enter a numerical range of IDs at once EX. 1-1000 (All users with IDs between and including 1 and 1000 would receive that award)
-Give Awards Based Off Usergroups

That is needed.

Change to the Custom CSS display style and edit the awards_css.css template.

jeryp 01-20-2010 11:57 AM

Installed on my forum.
When you click on Awards showcase in the users Postbit it takes you to a page called

member.php?2-user&tab=myawards

which is just a blank page with no medals showing?

What did I do wrong :erm:

CypherSTL 01-20-2010 12:10 PM

Have an actual link?

--
Guys, it would be a lot easier for me to try my best to help if you would simply post more than "It don't work", etc. Screenshots, actual links to your site where the problems are, would be a very big help and trying to find the bug, if it is a bug in the awards system and not something else causing it.

Eh could you provide a step by step? Not too good with vbulletin, thanks.

Xanlamin 01-20-2010 09:08 PM

Hello guys, first off please be running version 4.0.1 of vBulletin and YaAS-4.0.0-RC1, and it is preferred that you also be running at least version mySQL 5.0 if you want to use the points system. This combination fixes a lot of the problems you are having. It has been said several times. If you are running older versions of the awards system on the newer version of vBulletin then you will have problems, if you are running an older version of vBulletin you will have problems. It is a must that you upgrade both vBulletin AND the awards.

Also if you link to your site....PLEASE have guest allowed to view where you say you are having the issues, we will not register on your site in order to help you, and post screenshots as well to help identify the issue.

coloradomoms 01-21-2010 12:00 AM

I have a few issues. The recommend award goes to a page that says the user cannot view that page because of permissions. Even the admin. Also there is no awards tab on the member profile.

I can give screenshots if needed. Everything else is perfect! Thanks for the great mod!

Have you enabled Request/Recommend Permissions in the usergroup permissions?

What release of YAAS and vBulletin 4 are you running?

The current YAAS RC1 requires vBulletin 4.0.1.

As stated in previous posts, you need to upgrade to 4.0.1 to get tab functionality back.

I'm having the same problem. Otherwise it works great! I'm also not sure if it's been brought up before but is there any way to give one award out to more than one person at a time?

Thanks for an awesome addition!

molieman 01-21-2010 08:43 PM

I'm trying to enter the PM and Subject contents but get an error saying the phrase could not be found.

What is the phrase and where should it be?

Excellent ad-on btw. :)

argothiusz 01-22-2010 03:27 AM

Still waiting for RC2 release :) What caused the delay? xD

Trek 01-23-2010 08:34 AM

Just installed (was using it in my 3.8 install though).

I'd like to see it so that I (the admin) can set an award NOT to show up in the awards list in awards.php. Basically so it only shows up on postbits and memberlist if someone has the award.

I have awards setup that I use to create new awards later. This way they are already there and I don't have to look them up. Some use the same icons, etc.

The reason for this is, I wanted to make it so that when someone mouse overed the award, instead of (or in addition to) showing the award name, I wanted to display the issue reason.

So some awards have the same icons, but the issue reasons are different.

One more thing, if a category doesn't have any awards in it, don't display it. I have some categories premade that I'm awaiting icons on. Would be nice if we could set entire categories not to display actually.

EDIT:
Found something else. I'm using the default postbit style (1) and it's not showing the border as usual.

Thanks for the mod though, it's awesome work.

Might be able to setup something in the next release with the option to display catagoriesor not. Could use those type of catagories to put your "hidden" awards in, but still displays in postbits, profile, etc.

From what I can tell, and done through testing, that has been fixed. If you've edited your awards_css.css template since the last update last week, redownload it, and update to that release, as well as look at the "Defualt CSS Data.txt" for the fieldset CSS code.

CypherSTL 01-23-2010 09:26 AM

I am still working on the RC2 release. Had some work pop up last minute on another IT project, so I've been having to put most of my time towards that.

Covert-OPs_ 01-23-2010 02:23 PM

I did not realize that I had to come to the 4.0 add ons to get the newest version. At any rate I went ahead and upgraded everything and I am getting a db error. If you click the link below you should be able to re-create it.

The line that seems important is the following:

Quote:

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'award_pointvalue' in 'field list'

I installed it, but the awards profile tab will not show up. Also, it won't show on the profile sidebar.

What MySQL version are you running by chance?

Keldaria 01-23-2010 06:28 PM

I see that you have the "Awards" page be added to the nav bar. I havn't installed the mod yet but I would like to know if there is an option for that tab to not be placed there before I install the mod... my nav bar is rather full as is and I would rather add the link elsewhere

EDIT: NM i see the option in one of the posted pictures of the admin CP

Xanlamin 01-23-2010 07:07 PM

for points to work you must be using minimum mySQL version 5.0, also stated in past pages.

I just installed this yesterday and haven't done any editing to it at all. As I said, I did upgrade from a vb3.8 though. I'll dig around and see if I can figure out what's going on. My postbit isn't looking very good anyway so I think it's time to dig into that and while doing that I'll see if I can figure this issue out.

Xanlamin 01-23-2010 07:34 PM

If you had a vB3.8.4 board and had the YAAS mod installed then upgraded to vB4 you will need to check your templates. you will need to uninstall the 3.8.4 version of this mod and may need to revert to the default vB4 templates and install the 4.0.0 RC1 version of this mod overwriting ALL files

I did this actually, all of the templates are new vb4.01 templates.

What I did NOT do is uninstall the mod as I didn't want to lose all of the assigned awards though.

Trek 01-23-2010 07:58 PM

My users are reporting some issues with the display of the awards in the postbit.

It seems as though the display of the awards is different depending on browser version. A user has uploaded screenshots of IE7, FF 3.5 and Chrome and the awards are all positioned differently. Some are out into the post text itself, to the left, right, etc.

As soon as I figure out how to get the screenshots out of the new system to show you.. I will. heh But if you test yourself for this, I think you'll see the same thing. Not sure if it matters, but I am using postbit style 1 for legacy postbit.

Xanlamin 01-23-2010 08:02 PM

We will look into resolving this, sometimes it's as simple as getting the spacing right. Most of our testing is on the newest version of FF as it is the most used browser, and I know with IE and vBulletin there are some spacing issues, this is not a problem with the mod so to say but with div tags and how the browsers read them.

arg...my bad, I did not mean to say uninstall, I meant to say disable.

RedTrinity 01-24-2010 07:01 AM

I've just installed this on my 4.0 forum, and imported the award tables from 3.8 over.

However the awards are now all assigned to the wrong users? I'm not sure why this is

Example:

Member distribution for a particular award on old 3.8 forum... Jordiesmum, RedTrinity, Boo, firefly, tad, Sandra, skyebaby_3, Sunny4eva, Bec

Distribution for the exact same award to members on new 4.0 forum, after importing tables... RedTrinity, LukesMummy, firefly, Ronansmum, mummy2boys, bnzsmum, lilmky, jennie1985, Unikwa

:confused::confused::confused:

Would appreciate some advice on how to fix this. I've still got our 3.8 database running, so I can re-back up tables if need be.

Cheers,

Nikki.

Xanlamin 01-24-2010 08:50 AM

first make sure your running vB 4.0.1 and you should have disabled the mod for 3.8.4 and upgraded your vB 3.8.4 forum to 4.0.1 then installed the mod 4.0.0 RC1

I bought VB4.1 as a separate license to my 3.8 forum, as I plan to still make use of the older software as it currently is but for a different purpose (ie. have 2 forums running).

This is why I did not upgrade.

The version of this mod as its currently installed is the latest version (4.0.0-RC1)

I need that too.. I believe he's referring to the awards in the posbit_legacy

When some of my members have a little amount of awards such as 1 award, it's shifted to the left, I need it to be centered.

I asked this a couple pages back, with still no response to date.
