AME2x did and I am sure 3x will - however its still new and still in beta so give it some time :)

After editing the hooks_vbcms.xml file, go to your plugin manager, edit the hook mentioned and click save. You don't need to change anyting except removing the line mentioned in the hooks_vbcmls.xml file. (the readme goes into a more detailed step by step, so you may want to check that out :) )

Hope that helps!

No it's not. You just have to look in the correct place (which is documented in several places).

wacodep 12-29-2009 12:46 PM

How do you change the default size of the video box(es) containing the videos?

@wacodep Youre best to edit the definitions embed setting in the AME CP.

HTHs :)

I did, but the boxes still show the same size.

movslow 12-29-2009 06:48 PM

Is this a required update from 3.0.0 Beta 2a ?

The Geek 12-29-2009 06:49 PM

Hmm, try editing and resaving one. vB caches recent posts so the changes may not be visible to recently created posts.

ccjc 12-30-2009 09:12 AM

Hey,

If anyone has enabled cache but has not specified a path and left it BLANK.
You will have an error every time a video link is posted.

I got rid of it by copying the default path it generated. Literally solved my problem!

Thanks for this. I was getting this problem too.

Another issue I noticed was when I tried to rebuild the cache in ACP it said "Could not find phrase 'ame_saved'." - That one's probably not major though. Can't expect perfection from a Beta.

Thanks for this release though, Geek. This is one of the most useful mods ever, very happy to see it adapted for 4.0 :)

It will not embed attachments (unless that's changed in vB4 and someone hasn't told me). It will embed locally hosted MP3s not uploaded as attachments, but not until a definition for MP3s has been created for this version of AME.

DJ is correct, 'out of the box' AME4 doesn't have any additional definitions than vB4 comes with.

BTW... I have been experimenting with AME'fying profiles. If there is enough interest I may 'formalise' this as an addon. Basically it allows you to tell AME to render certain custom profile fields (that ideally have a media url in). It will then show in the profiel depending on where you assign it. Right now there are about 6 different places.

Digital Jedi 12-31-2009 06:29 PM

You already know how I feel. Yes, please.

Just installed so far it looks like its working :)

How do i add other sites like break.com or will these XML Files https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=175378 work or do they have to be updated 1st?

The Geek 01-01-2010 03:44 PM

They need to be updated first :)

jaffaman 01-01-2010 05:23 PM

Ok thanks for the fast reply :)

ColinM94 01-01-2010 11:34 PM

After installing, when i go to the AME CP it says page not found?

everything had been installed right. :S

The Geek 01-01-2010 11:42 PM

Did you upload all of the files? If you renamed your admincp folder, you will need to upload admincp/ame.php into the renamed folder.

Please click install if you installed.

HTHs

Good morning and happy new year.
I've installed this wonderful plug in but it do not look like ok.
i do not see the functions actives to set to convert the link in video.
and i've modified the hook file in xml and also opened saved and recharged the plug in in pug in manager.
i use Vb4 PL1 and ame 3. beta 2a because i've tried to installed beta 3 and the system has crashed and i had to restore all.
i've read the instructions to update but . .

have you any suggest about this problem?

way2xtreme 01-02-2010 06:13 AM

Hello everyone:

I need help with AME Regex URL. And I am willing to pay a reasonable fee for someone who can help. Here is what I need:

Any time AME sees an URL starting with "http://MySite.com/P/?" it then out put the entire url as a parameter. I will then put {vb:raw code} in a embed code.

For example, in this URL

PHP Code:

http://MySite.com/P/?@4ATsy4DPut4ELHH2qQtFpage_1_test&ZZ@4ATmv4DFyC4EEFc@4AWJg4BWWy1CTVO4DLvN4EByx1qJijpage3&ZZ@

It starts with

PHP Code:

http://MySite.com/P/?

Then the whole URL is the parameter, nothing needs to be altered...

PHP Code:

http://MySite.com/P/?@4ATsy4DPut4ELHH2qQtFpage_1_test&ZZ@4ATmv4DFyC4EEFc@4AWJg4BWWy1CTVO4DLvN4EByx1qJijpage3&ZZ@

Thank you very much in advance and happy new year!

WC

ps. here is my older code which still work fine on the old forum:

$p1 is the parameter; it will get the entire url

Well, I don't know what's changed in the new version of AME yet, but in the previous version, at least, you could just use something simple:

Code:

http://[\w.]*mysite\.com/P/\?[\w&;@]+
And just use $ameinfo[url] (I assume The Geek didn't change this in AME 3) for the URL. You don't need to escape every forward slash, and you don't need % or - unless you have some URLs that have those characters. If so, just add them to the last set of brackets. I'd recommend putting the dash last, as I've run into a couple of problems putting elsewhere in the brackets.

Sounds like you have the file cache on, but not a valid path (which is the second setting).

Try this, I don't have any embed code to go off of, but assume you can tweak if needed.

Note that because of the way vB4 deals with video parameters, you don't want a semi-colon in your parameter.

@DJ - Keep meaning to update the readme with an outline of the new formats, but keep getting side tracked :D

Because its really vB4 doing the video management, we are somewhat limited in some of the things we can do, but not many. The key restriction is that there can be only one parameter (and it can't contain a semicolon!). That parameter can be fetched from another site or from the URL. There are no other parameters that can be used in the embed code other than this parameter, so no titles, sizes, etc...

Il get to writing it soon enough!
