twistedsymphony 12-05-2010 01:38 PM

I'm running VB 3.8.0 and there are no other plugins installed... I've uploaded all the files in the ZIP, and installed the product-itrader.xml file then went though the config page, activated it and tweaked some settings

-the new tab in the user profiles appears, and this seems to display properly
-the iTrader link in the main nav bar appears
-iTrader doesn't appear in the memberlist
-iTrader post bits don't appear
-clicking the main nav bar link or clicking to rate a user though the user profile produces the following error:

Quote:

Twistedsymphony, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I've gone over the config screen option by option a dozen times, I've re-uploaded and re-installed the plugin 3 times, and I've read every post in this thread... all I've found are other people having similar options and receiving no solutions...

some people seem to be running this without a problem... how did you get past the security and postbit issues?

twistedsymphony 12-05-2010 10:12 PM

I thought maybe it was my version of vbulletin, so I upgraded from 3.8.0 to 3.8.4 PL2

... same exact problems
re-uploaded and re-installed
... same exact problems
:(

twistedsymphony 12-06-2010 12:45 PM

I figured out the problem.

All usergroups will be defaulted to deny access to iTrader.

To allow access you will need to edit each usergroup through the usergroup manager in the admin CP.

at the very bottom of the list there is a section for iTrader where you can control the viewing, editing, and administering permissions for that group.

Once I went through each of my usergroups and set permissions everything started working exactly as it should.

... hopefully this helps someone else who was having similar problems to me.

Did you try giving yourself permission to view iTrader?

Makes me wonder why coders just stop responding/updating, even when people pay for support.

I wouldn't go by that too much. It'll count you as active just from a partial page load.

Encountering some SERIOUS problems with this mod after installation.

I uploaded all files to their correct location(s), then imported the product-itrader.xml file through the AdminCP > Plugins and Products > Manage Products > Add/Import Product. Installation completed without any error messages.

I've turned the iTrader system 'on' through the AdminCP, and gave my User Group (I have a separate User Group just for myself above and beyond the default 'Administrator' group) permission to view, rate, and administrate ratings; all other usergroup permissions have not been turned on yet. When viewing any user profile, the Feedback Score tab appears and their feedback is shown (all zeroes, as this is a new install of iTrader). The iTrader link is shown under the 'Communities' link in the navbar as well. All very normal.

However, the problems start here.

Whenever I click on the iTrader link in the navbar, the feedback score under my user name, or the View Complete Feedback link for any user, I get a "500 Internal Server Error" screen saying that the server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

I get this same error whenever I attempt to access ANY of the six .php files which were uploaded to the root directory of my site.

I know I am not the only person in this discussion thread who has experienced this issue, but seeing as vbenhancer has essentially abandoned all of us with respect to iTrader, can anyone suggest a possible fix for this? Could this be a PHP version issue (my server is running PHP 4.4.9)? Do I need to contact my webhost to request a PHP update?

I have wanted to install the iTrader mod for quite some time but have been putting off doing so due to an obvious lack of support. Now that I have done so, I am encountering EXACTLY what I feared would happen.

vbenhancer 12-08-2010 06:05 PM

... actually, do not talk in my back if you know nothing about the situation... or i'll snap your fingers.

first, your 500 error is not related to this hack but by how you uploaded the files... are they chmod properly with default setting like all the other files? what do you use to upload your files? same engine that you used on your forum script?

and for the lack of support, stop whinning like a baby, this hack is tagged as not supported, you're lucky that i pass by.

you paid? here on vb.org? tsss fun joke.

oh, you paid on my site? the site is closed for 9 months already, and there was never more than monthly subscriptions that were all done when i closed the site, so you received the support you paid for, sorry for your mother.

that's just another pityful example of why i will not support my stuff here anymore... whinners.

I didn't say "I" paid, I said "when people pay", there's a difference.

"Sorry for your mother"? What the heck is that supposed to mean?

Digital Jedi 12-08-2010 06:57 PM

Is that anything like Word to your Mother...<ahem>

It does sound like you might have the files in the wrong location. Did you upload them all at once, or did you try uploading them one at time? One at a time is often a comment mistake. Possible FTP uploaded in the wrong format.

Talk in your back? I'm posting on a public forum. I'm not talking in your back, I'm talking directly at you.

I've fixed the problem with the help of my web host's support personnel. As it turns out, the permissions were set wrong - they were all set to 777. I've chmoded them to 644 and everything is working fine now. I'll agree that it was probably a novice mistake/error, but I didn't change the file permissions prior to (or after) uploading the files to the server so I don't know how they became set to 777. It may very well be a setting in my FTP program which I am unaware of (I use Cyberduck for the Mac OS X). I'll look into it.

Regardless, the problem is fixed now.

No, they were all uploaded to the correct location. It was a permissions issue. All the files had their permissions (automatically...?) set to 777. I changed them to 644 on the advice of my webhost and everything began working properly.

Wasn't whining sir, I was just commenting on the fact that numerous coders seem to start a plugin, then dissapear

vbenhancer 12-08-2010 09:05 PM

actually i did not start that one, i upgraded it to 3.8.x, which is actually working as planned since the first download on more than 900 installs...

the problem with the instructions are not mine... i upgraded the code, the documentation was already missing from the start... right now, i've seen so far that most of the installs are successful, and most of the bugs are related to bad usage, and not bad code... i tagged this script as unsupported, so if you install it and have problems, you can still post your problems on the thread and be answered by generous people like Digital Jedi, who is a great guy btw...

thecorvettekid 12-12-2010 01:47 PM

Hi all,

I installed iTrader a short time ago, and with the exception of a file permissions error (which was entirely my fault) I encountred at the beginning, the plug-in has been working fine.

Until now.

I upgraded PHP on my server to v5.3.3 and now, whenever I access any of the itrader.php files (those in the forum root) like itrader_main.php, itrader_detail.php, itrader_report.php, etc... I get the following appearing at the top of the screen:

Quote:

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/supercha/public_html/includes/init.php on line 55

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/supercha/public_html/includes/init.php on line 107

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/supercha/public_html/includes/class_core.php on line 2552
This didn't happen when the server was running PHP 4.4.9.

From the above error messages, the problem doesn't seem to be related to iTrader (since none of the iTrader files are being referenced) but this only happens when I access itrader.php or any of the itrader_x.php files. The rest of the site seems to be working fine.

Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, can you suggest a fix?

I'm a real novice when it comes to PHP so you'll have to forgive me if this comes off as a stupid question.

BOWZONE 12-12-2010 02:31 PM

Installed and works perfectly...thank you!

kyle1745 01-01-2011 01:44 PM

So there will be no further updates? and or a itrader for VB 4?

Additionally my statistics have never worked the "recent ratings" any ideas?

TopShelfGamer 02-11-2011 01:43 PM

hope you still check this.

Is there a way to edit feedback? i just opened a site and would like to transfer everyones feedback to there former numbers at other sites.

TopShelfGamer 02-13-2011 03:41 PM

Does anyone know how to edit the feedback of a user?

Hawk7173 02-13-2011 08:32 PM

installed and works like a charm!!! Thanks!

Welshy2008 03-07-2011 01:19 PM

Are there any plans to port this to vB4, please Guys?

Also, would someone be able to post a link to this itrader in action please? (or PM me with it). I would like to see this.

Thanks.

Kyliee 03-09-2011 07:30 AM

Mine doesnt even show the place to give feedback and it says The iTrader system is currently closed.
did all steps correct

blauauge 03-09-2011 09:46 AM

everything works fine, still even there is no easy way / link to find where to give feedback.

Gadget_Guy 03-13-2011 03:09 AM

If the developer is no longer developing this Mod, I would love for someone to pick it up.

This is the #1 used mod on my forums and it could use some further development.

SublimeBoa 03-26-2011 08:36 PM

Will I lose existing members and their current ratings if I upgrade to this newer version?

SublimeBoa 03-27-2011 01:12 AM

Never mind. The answer is no. The current ratings remain.

But I do have a new question. Why is there no way to rate a user? The tab shows up, the info, the transaction remarks, the menus, it's all there except for a way to actually leave a rating.

Did I miss a file when I uploaded them to the server? Any help would be great. Looks like a great tool. Now if only I could use it.

I can't find how to edit the long comment... but only the short!

edit:
the "long comment" have to exist!!!

dizzynation 06-06-2011 01:09 AM

IS this considered the release thread? if so,

I believe i have successfully uploaded iTrader to my forums, because when i click on a name it should a feedback score, but there is no "leave Feedback for this person" option, and i cant find any options in the editing options to change it. Did i do something wrong? I want my feedback to be set up just like rctech.net

Thank you so much to the person that can help me figure this out

Diz

Sonic625 08-22-2011 03:14 PM

I know this may not get answered but throwing it out there.

Installed and works great, however on the back end the mods and Admins are getting alot of emails while users update their old feedback threads into the itrader. I have turned off the 2 email settings in the ACP setting and still get them, any ideas on this?

Also where would I look if I wanted it to show how many +1 and -1's (ex 13 +1, 2 -1)in the postbit instead of total feedbacks?

hpidriver 09-01-2011 06:54 PM

Installed and works great, however...
when I try to use any of the itrader navbar links such as:
"Browse All Members," "Find A Customer" or "Find a Seller" I get a vbulletin message claiming there are no members to list.

The main itrader page shows that it clearly has all members and ratings recorded though. Any one have a similar issue?

jilly 09-10-2011 03:28 PM

I tried clicking on the link in the description to go to the vbenhancer website to check out more details of this mod and it was a boatload of spam ads and I never even made it to the website despite lots of clicking. Then I tried just typing in vbenhancer.com and that was nothing but ads too.. what gives?

His site has been hacked, most likely. I've had a similar thing happen to mine. It looks like the developer isn't aware of it yet, most likely he's been offline for a few months.

Oh man, how i wished for this system to be maintained. Can some skilled coder please pick this up in any way?

DavidUnbekannt 01-17-2012 09:43 AM

How can i install this addon? I see no tutorial or instruction.

Thanks!!!
