Does this go for everyone? In 'Callback URL' setting put -> http://yoursite.com/xd_receiver.htm

Also. I have a Facebook contact grabber on my site to send invitations and if I enable your add-on I get this error after I submit my Facebook login info:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Facebook in /home/global43/public_html/includes/facebook/facebook.php on line 37

If I turn your addon off, it works fine. How can I make them both work?

Here is the url to the grabbers, there is 6 of them.

http://globalhockeynetwork.com/inv_invite_friends.php

I'm not quite sure how to set all my settings on the Facebook site. It's asking for callback URLs and a bunch of other URLs and settings.

What exactly do I need to fill in on the Facebook side to get things rolling?

gweb 12-11-2008 11:53 PM

Wow, is all I can say. Great Add-on and I will certainly be employing this once my new site is up and running (waiting for 3.8 gold)

I would love a noob guide for setting that up, for sure.

All you need to set is the Callback URL which should be the url of your forum like http://www.site.com/forums/

OMG sweet thanks!

This MOD is great if all of our forums were new... if your has members already then we would be excluding them... and in most cases the current members post the most...

Are there plans to allow established users to use Facebook connect? i ididn't notice any type of dev roadmap... otherwise... this mod is easily going to win MOTM soon

Always pays to read the last couple of posts above yours. ;)

I logged out and I was re-directed to -> http://sllik2.homeip.net/other/vbcon...&fblogout=true

????????

Digital Jedi 12-12-2008 02:47 AM

Both of your ZIP files extract to a folder named fbconnect-1.0.1. Might want to update that, cause it confused the heck out of me for a couple of minutes there. =/

nascartr 12-12-2008 03:02 AM

works ok now? what's your forum? would love to see it live :)

TriMe 12-12-2008 03:14 AM

yes sir.

It works, but now I'm going to try and use my Facebook contact grabber. Maybe you can try it as well.

The site is http://globalhockeynetwork.com
and the grabber is http://globalhockeynetwork.com/inv_invite_friends.php

TriMe 12-12-2008 03:23 AM

The grabber doesnt work if your logged in through Facebook. If you log out, then invite.. it works. Strange. Any suggestions on how to fix? I would love both to work :(

EDIT*** Correction. As long as your addon is enabled, the grabber won't work. Regardless if someone is connected normally without a Facebook account or not. Nutz!!

nascartr 12-12-2008 03:35 AM

One thing I noticed is that I can only click the Facebook Connect using IE7 on the forums page. I could click on any other page of the site (vBAdvanced page, arcade, etc.) but the login box would not pop up.

I could take a look at it tomorrow... no promises though

nascartr 12-12-2008 03:37 AM

Update: I can get the login pop up in the shop, calendar, and blog areas. Can't get it to pop up on the homepage and arcade though.

nascartr 12-12-2008 03:40 AM

Works on Google Chrome on any page...not IE though. Gonna try Firefox.

nascartr 12-12-2008 03:41 AM

Same on Firefox as IE. Only pops up on certain pages.

That would be great. I would donate for your trouble (and a great addon) if you could fix it.

My site works fine for the popups. In IE 7 however, I do get this JS error (no idea what it means)

nascartr 12-12-2008 03:43 AM

Double checked with Google Chrome and I can't get the login popup to come up on the arcade and home page.

TomJames 12-12-2008 03:46 AM

That's weird, I seem to have a similar issue.

The facebook connect thing pops up fine in FF as far as I can see but on Opera and IE it doesn't pop up on all pages (for example it doesn't work on the homepage.) Could it be vbSEO causing a problem?

Other than that, works great!

nascartr 12-12-2008 03:47 AM

Figured something out...added xd_receiver.htm to my main public_html and now it works on the homepage. Gonna try adding that file to the arcade folder now.

Didn't help.

sllik 12-12-2008 04:07 AM

I think i have an idea whats causing these problems.... will release a fix in a sec

EDIT: it doesn't look like a browser issue...

< Never used Faeces Book, but many of our users do.

Do we need to create our own FaecesBook account for this to work? for this referrer URl thing, or just set it up via admincp, once we configure this hack?

Yeah you need to create a facebook account to get things going...

sllik 12-12-2008 04:30 AM

Version 1.1.1 is up. Please let me know if this solved the js & login popup problems. Thanks!

Bugger.

nascartr 12-12-2008 04:44 AM

looks like it works on all pages now! Thanks for all your hard work!

blanky 12-12-2008 05:14 AM

Great mod, but I'm gonna wait untill it's stable, still some errors (try logging in and out then clicking the button again, nothing will happen, or, it will say "thanks for logging in", and log you out

Kel-D 12-12-2008 06:04 AM

Mine only works in IE and not Firefox which is a shame cos I don't use IE. :o
