If you change translate the phrases related to tournament status ($vbphrase['tmnt_waiting'], $vbphrase['tmnt_inprogress'], $vbphrase['tmnt_finished']) then it wont work. I will be changing this in later version.

I was going to suggest putting then randomly as well, but then I discovered it already does that. I didn't check, but I assume you could reorganize them manually by editing the database. Not too important, but any plans of letting us set the brackets up our own custom way?

Again, I'd like to thank you for all the recent updates. This mod seems to be getting better with each one!

Few questions. I've setup several test events (as Im sure most have) during testing of this mod. I've removed all the brackets now, but in the HOF its still showing as having winners. Is there a way to remove these records (even if through myphpadmin?)

Also, I read that there is already a way to have stats show in profiles? If so, how? I've not yet been able to figure that one out if its even possible yet.

I gotta admit however, what I was really looking for was a mod that lays out just like this but allows for, say, the opening thread that is created to serve as the "ready, get set, go!" thread where people can battle whether it was a flame war, rap contest, etc. that people could score or use a thumbs up or thumbs down on but that probably goes far beyond the planned capabilities of this hack.

I was really hoping for some sort of scoring ability that regular members could give the people involved in the tournament.

I do have to say that it's already awesome, just throwing my thoughts out there. ;)

How do I delete an entire tournament?

You can remove players.. just not after it has started.

To delete go into the tournament and scroll down to the bottom right.

On right hand side there is link to 'Add Player'
To add slots click the + or - buttons next to number of slots
Once tournament has started it is not possible to add players.
Open tournament and at the bottom right hand side is [Delete] link.

Can you add an option to allow us to start the tournament when we choose to as well? I'd like registration for tournaments to open at a certain time and then start the whole thing at another time.

There's a way to manage "mixed-mode" tournament ? I mean tournament made by a preliminary group of ladder/division and then only the fist xx of each ladder/division go to the next tournamente phase, the 1vs1 "eliminatory" matches.
Just to make an exmample: the European or Mondial Football Champ

One last thing from me as far as requests go. I am editing my php file each upgrade so that I can do a mass edit to a tourney. When I edit a tourney, I can edit number of players/freeslots/status.

It's a really handy feature especially if a tourney goes full and you need to add players. Can this be added as a standard feature? Tired of editing the php file lol.

Pretty simple to do, just edit the .php file and template tmnt_edit. Just think it'd be a great standard feature.

After installing this lovely mod, i can't seem to find it anywhere in navbar links or forum links. If i go directly to www.mywebsite.com/forum/tournament.php i can see it... but, isn't there any other way ?

Is it possible to add the option for members to submit a win/loss ?

Also in the LMS the option to have a beginning date and ending date

Also any to have the ability to have a lifeline added

Example:
Player A has 3 points
Player B has 3 points
Player A defeats Player B
Player A gains 1 point making his total points to 4
Player B loses 1 point reducing his points to 2

Whom ever reaches 0 point is eliminated from the event
All players with lets say 10 points or more will be entered into the Featured tournament for the Event

Yeah just go into your plugin Mgr and uncheck the "Active" buttons under the tournament mod for "Postbit" and "Membeinfo" if you want to remove those.

AdminCP -> Plugins & Products -> Plugin Manager -> Edit {Tournament Postbit} -> Set 'Plugin is Active' to 'No' -> Save
The link is under tournament details
Check the tournament isn't full
Make sure your usergroup permissions allow you to join tournament
Make sure the template (tmnt_display is not edited... if it is click 'revert template')
It should auto-insert link into both navbar and quick links if you have permissions to view tournaments
If it doesnt then open up navbar template
Find
Place After

upon tournament creation and also editing tournament (link at bottom right) when it hasnt started.

My biggest suggestion at this point.. is to keep this simple. OR, if you do decide to add the above suggestions, consider including a way to disable them.

Im sure there are board where such would be overkill or unused features. The bracket system alone makes this a killer modification.

My final suggestions at the moment,

Give the system its own AdminCP menu, where you don't alway shave to go through VB Options.

Consider adding the ability for an administrator to create events from the Admin CP.

May it be possible in the future, to make some events "Invite Only" ? So only the people you want to join can do so (without having to add them yourself) OR just a way to disable joining for some events?

fantastic hack, absolutely what i needed for my gaming forum, and i hope u release the league one to. I have a few idea for future releases:

• Being able to name players like by there gamertag/username instead of players 1,2,3,4,5,6
  
• more statistics in profile/postbit i use it for pro evolution soccer so i would like to see, goals scored, goals conceeded wins, losses etc etc..... (maybe more suitable for a league structure than tournament but u get the idea)
  
• more categories but u alread said ur doing this

For the ladders, I STRONGLY urge you to use the ELO Rating System. It's the best way to calculate points IMO, and it used by all the big ladder and tournament sites:

yes, the user ID along with username needs to go away. it takes twice the time to create a tournament. besides...users are too incompetent to know what their id is, and how to find it.

I agree with "snapoff " it should be either username or user ID either one entered should be sufficient.

Not to sound ungrateful or greedy...
But is there an update coming with any of these suggestions implimented?

I'd be patient. There have already been TONS of updates since the original version came out. While im no coder, im sure it takes quite a bit of time to implement even smaller changes / updates.. much less such large ones.

Give him some time.. he has already issued more updates, in far less time than most modifications ever get =)
