That info is posted throughout this thread.

I looked through the thread, and all I see is that the staff page uses the same ACP options as showgroups, which is not what I want. Any other ideas?

OK, then edit it to only show the usergroups you wish to display.

You can use this to make multiple pages to display any usergroup.

When I go to staff.php page, it tells me I don't have permission to view... even though it's an admin account.

It will only do it to the default style but I will try to fix that
Has this been fixed yet ?

Yup, that's exactly what I'm after. I want staff.php to ONLY show mods and admins (usergroup IDs 5 and 6), and showgroups.php to ONLY show registered users that have donated.

My expertise in PHP isn't too great, though, so I don't know what code to find and replace inside staff.php. Any help is appreciated.

MarkFoster 07-24-2008 08:23 PM

Hey you should add in meet our staff a place where the mods/admins can talk about themselves.
Like this page: http://www.spiralmountain.co.uk/site_staff.asp

Spank 07-27-2008 02:02 AM

i would like to show only a couple of custom fields on the meet the staff page is this possible?

This mod picks up info from the forum leaders page. Go to each usergroup you don't want
to display & uncheck the Show on Forum Leaders Page. Also add your new usergroups you wish to display.

This can be done by editing the meetstaff_usergroupbit template & removing
the fields you don't want to show. Again, I edited my downloaded Meet the Staff
with a larger text area to allow more content. View my post.

See above quote.

Spank 07-27-2008 03:30 AM

Thanks blind-eddie, I've been ripping my hair out trying to customize showgroups. This should do the trick.

Spank 07-27-2008 04:40 AM

I'm trying to swap the avatar to profile pic but I can't figure it out. anyone know how to do this?

Worked great :). That replacement code worked well blind-eddie.

Demo: http://www.creeight.org/forums/staff.php

I also added a simple horizontal rule to provide a break between each staff member's info. It looked too combined together otherwise.

I like that, share your info?

I can't work where to put the custom profile field on usergroupbit template. I tried creating a new row in the table and putting $post[field5], but nothing shows up.

yingzhou 07-27-2008 08:36 PM

It dont show up the collapse icon on my forum! 3.7.2 PL1 with version 2.0, default template. Please help me!

vmacedonia 07-27-2008 09:18 PM

One note, date of birth is always showed in the staff list, even if the member has chose the option "Hide Age and Date of Birth".

I don't know this is a bug or just the way should be...

You should know that the occupation field in shows the members name rather than Occupation.

But in that case, wouldn't the usergroups shown on the forum leaders page be the same as on the meet our staff page? I want them to be different.

blind-eddie 07-28-2008 04:37 PM

They are different, this show's more info. Forum leaders does not.

What did you do to correct this? I am having this issue after adding new usergroup.

That's exactly why I would like to use both systems independently- Forum Leaders would be a long list of donors, while Meet out Staff would be a short list of moderators with additional profile info - however, I would in that case need to modiy the code in staff.php to list usergroups 5, 6, and 7 instead of checking the vboptions. Through my question I'm asking how I'd accoplish the above modification.

Ohiosweetheart 07-29-2008 07:51 AM

I love your mods. Thank you!

skcyber 07-29-2008 09:56 AM

How can I hide this page for guests ?

Poppet 07-30-2008 08:23 AM

It works great from the forum but if I click on it from vBadvanced portal I get a 404 error...

bada_bing 07-30-2008 12:27 PM

Seems redundant to show forum leaders. Can this be setup a way to replace the show forum leaders with this hack rather then having both now

Spank 07-30-2008 12:50 PM

^ You can, that's what I have done, just point the view forum leaders link to staff.php

gbox master 07-30-2008 08:12 PM

This has nothing to do with the Modification. You have to set the usergroup option for the Miserable users to not show up in Forum Leaders.

Edit the Usergroup -> Viewable on Show Groups: No

Krumbz 08-01-2008 12:15 AM

excellent, love this product.

cSh 08-01-2008 04:57 PM

thanx for sharing

Spank 08-02-2008 11:20 PM

What do I need to edit to make the table width narrower, it currently stretches the whole page. If you look at my meet the staff page and look at Spencer Christian, you'll see what I mean. I only want the text to reach as far as the pm button and then go to the next line.

Any ideas?

Edit the width of the field that applies to that line.

Spank 08-03-2008 12:35 AM

Done but doesn't work

blind-eddie 08-03-2008 02:09 AM

Edit your meetstaff_usergroupbit template.

Look for the line that creates that field to display on the staff page.

Edit it's width there.

Spank 08-03-2008 06:21 AM

done but still having no effect

blind-eddie 08-03-2008 12:08 PM

You edited yours quite a bit from what I am seeing. Looks like you removed everything
but the bios section. That was set below everything, spanning 100%. You will need to
view history of your template & re-add what you are missing to allow is to change in size.
