just a question - right now i have vb 3.6.9 and if i upgrade to 3.7 will i have to install the version from this thread? or will it keep on working without a problem?

njoker555 - you will have to install this version otherwise you will get bitfield collision problems down the road - which will prevent you from installing hacks :p not to mention theres some template changes which better fit the vb3.7 templates, like the profile. it will not affect your accounts or settings if you basically follow the upgrade instructions, but use the installation template edits from the vb3.7 version to double-check your edits are still there.

Hmm, how do you get it to display that? Is that an upgrade? Because I installed it and did all the template upgrades and I only can get "credits" under my username.

those links show up based on your permissions. for example, if your usergroup is allowed to see the transaction logs of others, the check link will appear. if you can donate to that person, the donate link will appear.

in the usergroup options is the set of limits for the post award system. using non-zero values will give the power to award other users from within threads and profiles that does not come from your account. look for the gold icon to appear in your postbits, similar to what shows in that screenshot above.

My memberlist options show that everybody is allowed to view credits. What I'm I doing wrong? I don't get the graphic, but it shows the credit amount.

i said those things are determined by the usergroup permissions :) for check to show up - usergroup must be able to view everyone's transaction logs. for donate to show up, usergroup must have a nonzero donation limit, and donations must be enabled in the specialty settings for vbcredits.

Yeah, i'm logged in admin and said yes to admin's usergroups(even to view transaction logs), but it still doesn't work. Also, the coin doesn't even show up.

the coin only appears when you have nonzero limits for the post award system in the usergroup settings.

If you changed the bitfield for the old version, change it back. Make sure the new bitfield file for vB Credits overwrites the old one as well.

Oh yeah, I know you can award more credits, but what do you do with them? Can they be converted to anything? Lke after 500 credits you get a forums feature, etc.

It works just fine on 3.7.0. From what I can tell.

check the following:
in your global settings, is visibility set to all or private?
in your usergroup settings, are you a member of group locked from vbcredits?
in your usergroup settings, is the group of the person you are looking at locked from vbcredits, or set to hide their credit totals?

This version is made specifically to work with vb3.7 and was verified to work on it (naturally :p). There are some extremely minor bugs left which have been reported to me (if you find more please tell me!), but the main bug which is holding back from a gold version release has been removed for the rc2 version while i recode it. it was in the code for threads/posts get moderated. now, moderation does nothing automatically while i work to recode it for 1.4 gold. otherwise, even banking and loans are fully operational :D

A few comments and a problem!.

While this is an OUTSTANDING script I really wish you guys would have spent time on the store that has been in the works forever. Personally, I feel you guys have made this WAY TOO complex. Again, it is an OUTSTANDING script and I am grateful. I have been willing to pay $50-$100 for an amazing store for nearly a year now. You have one part of what I feel is a two part program. What good is "cash" if there is no where to spend it?

My problem is that my admins can see the "donate" button in the POSTBIT, but no one else can. I have checked all of the settings and the Usergroups and I don't see anwhere to set it up so everyone can donate. Any idea? Is donate the only way to send money? Or is there a "sent Cash" feature. Technically, you are not donating when you are buying something.

More like three part, but let's not get into it. Not everyone will want a bulky shop(s) with their points system :p this gives them the option to install as much of the eventual package as they would like, and let's face it: the points earning part needs to be finished first and the most solid part of it. There are other addons you could use this with; pretty popular are the addons for the arcades for example.

Also, I agree with you that it is too complex, however I have incorporated a lot of suggestions, and I have another large list to include as well :p I am thinking of ways to condense how it works without losing the dynamic functionality it has, largely planned for the next major release of vBCredits which will be rewritten from the core. If you have any ideas to contribute to that effort by all means tell me as I am very interested and open to them :)

As for your donation problem, sounds like you have set the maximum donation limit to 0 in the usergroup settings of the non-admin groups :D

Isn't the usergroup thing in vB Commerce or Customiser? I know the first one is in the pay modification vB Limiter or something, but isn't the second one in one of the free shop systems being developed for vB Commerce?

And by written from the core, you mean like vBulletin 2 -> 3 or vBulletin 3 -> as in, nearly everything changed? Like vB Credits 2.0?

well charging to view content is my content merchants pro addon. buying paid subscriptions with credits will be an itemtype in vbcommerce. both should be discussed at my site :p

and yes, rewritten basically on how it saves credits... right now its kind of had an addon approach, where new features have for the most part been added onto the original code. now that there is a large bunch of stuff, i will revise how all of it fits together and simplify how you set it up. i basically never expected or programmed for some of the things that it is expanding into or what people want, for example micrologs for all earnings. also some features which are becomming their own major systems will be modularized and expanded on their own (I may even remove them from the main hack in favor of addon status, such as the bank, lottery or post award system, especially since those 3 tend to be used by less than the majority so may as well speed up the main hack by making them even more optional). that kind of stuff needs an overhaul of the entire system, and indeed the next major version of vbcredits will be 2.0 :p however, I havent begun development on it yet (beyond some notes) and dont expect to for some time; theres a huge list of stuff everyone else wants first ;)

I have checked over the above settings and they all appear to be in order - visibility is set to "everyone", and the example usergroup (Admin, which I am part of) is set to "no" regarding being excluded from VBPoints. I can't see the other 2 admin's credits on their profile and they are part of the same group with that setting.

So I am not too sure what else it could be.

Would appreciate any further help in identifying the problem!

I may have missed a setting somewhere so forgive me if this is what it is. However, the default negative post awards (for deleted posts, etc) seem to also effect the usergroup induction credit when they are removed from it. Is there a way to exempt usergroup from the negative awards?

dlynx: if you are using rc2, there should be a setting for applicable negation awards in the global award settings. make sure Induction is unchecked.

I can't seem to get the Applicable Negation Awards to work. I got it set at -1.5 and checked the new thread field. But when I test it by creating a thread and then deleting it, the points that I earned does not get deleted.
