Access Control List

(afaik)

Wayne Luke 12-05-2007 05:22 PM

That is what I thought and was trying to make sure. You never really know with Acronyms.

And no... Access Control Lists would not happen in a minor version or feature release version like 3.7.0. Implementing them would probably require a rewrite of the permissions system in vBulletin. That wouldn't happen until a Major release version, if it even does.

are we specting for it in december at least or more? I actually was working on redesigning the memberinfo template, now I see lots of stuff that I actually added in the 3.6.8 damn lol I better wait but I need to release my site very soon, any toughts on this

Rat1972 12-06-2007 07:27 PM

It will be released this month, pretty sure about that.

Paul M 12-06-2007 08:08 PM

The only thing likely this month is a beta, and you shouldn't really run that on a live site.

mjname 12-06-2007 10:50 PM

Is there a way to get on the beta release list?

Ohiosweetheart 12-07-2007 02:05 AM

The beta will most likely be released to all customers.

Just to say that there are major things lacking in the vb 3.7 as previewed on vb.com currently.
I've been going through everything thoroughly and discussing what's needed.

This is just a small note to say this is REALLY going to need mods in order to work halfway decently. So thank heavens for vb.org

Better have a 3.7 section all ready to activate the day the 3.7beta is released. The requests will be pouring in! For updates on current mods but also for specific ones to patch up 3.7's naked bits.

In fact the mods over there are CONTINUALLY teling us to just get mods to make it work!

There is no list.

There is generally a staff preview first, followed by a public beta some unspecified period later (depending on how much of it the staff break ;)).

There will be a 3.7 beta section here, but it's unlikely to be on the day it's publicly released as we are generally not told in advance. Adding a new section requires quite a few backend changes here.

What I meant was it would be wise to prepare a forum, but keep it invisible. Then make it visible fast when the release arrives.

because creating a new forum takes soooo long.

Jafo232 12-12-2007 04:42 PM

Although they did give anti-spam measures a bit of attention, I wish they would have gone farther and tried to incorporate something like my Akismet hack where spam could be checked against a known database. The feature cuts spam down to almost nothing on my boards. Surely this could be done better natively, instead of my hack.

Ahh well.. Maybe 4.0...

There is a lot more involved here than just creating a new forum. Since you have no idea, I suggest you keep any further sarcastic comments to yourself.
