This is a great mod.

Its just a shame the ghosts dont work as they look fantastic. Would be great if the author or someone else managed to evolve this script.

Awesome hack and it is working great on my forum! I think most users are using IE 5 or 6. But please, can we get a quick fix for Thanksgiving... and any other major holiday.

It would actually be great if there was a way that we could add our own... with a set dimension for any on the .png or .jpg files... Pretty please? :)

Ok folks... since there is no response for Thanksgiving support... I suppose the author got busy with something else... Here is a quick fix for Thanksgiving!!!

Do this!

Right click on this gif image on my website and save it!

http://www.smclassified.com/forum/season/ghost/sam.gif

Backup your old sam.gif under your season/ghost folder and replace it with this one...

Then set the season to Uncle Sam... Presto!

--------------------------------------------------
You could replace any of the icons... but I chose the sam.gif.

To make the gif....

I had to lasso the turkey in Photoshop and place it in a transparent 34x32 image and save it as a .gif. You can do this with just about any image!

I am gonna do this with Santa in a sleigh or something... since there is only snow flakes for Christmas...

Enjoy! :D

Doesn't work for me either. It says to upload some bg file which is not even in the zip. BTW, what the hell do you "click to install"??? I see that written where your file is downloaded from in bold. I'm using VB 3.6.8

Allnick 11-22-2007 07:56 PM

A complete newbie here...requires some help with this please.

Upload product-guidevb_bgcolor.xml
Upload the season folder to your forum directory

It's the second instruction....upload season folder to your forum directory?

How exactly do I do this...and where is the forum directory?
Are we talking ftp or via ACP?

Many Thanks.

Upload product-guidevb_bgcolor.xml - via the ACP (products and plugins // manage products // add new product)

Upload the season folder to your forum directory - Upload via FTP. The forum directory is where all your vbulletin files were uploaded when you first installed.

Allnick 11-23-2007 12:04 AM

Many thanks powerful_rogue,
Installed with no problems:up:

I was just wondering, will this hack be updated for VB 3.7
when it comes out?

Thanks

Cobro 12-02-2007 02:26 PM

what about 3.6.8
?

inciarco 12-02-2007 03:28 PM

Two Bug I've Found in vBulletin 3.6.7 PL1!! :(

The "Forum Home" option don't Work!! Only the Global (Everywhere) Option Works!! :(

The "Fireworks Pixel 2", take in many cases a width Larger that the Window Width, so the Explosions of the Fireworks Don't Show!! :(

Two Questions:

-1- Is there a Way to Limit the Width of the Explosions so that they Fit Inside the Window all Times??

What Code Should I Replace on the Scripts??

-2- How can I Limit the Drop of the Snow Flakes to the Top of the Page (some amount of Pixels, perhaps 200 or 300), so that the don't have to Fall to the Bottom of the Page (some of my Pages are very Large, so the Flaked would look better only Falling in the Top of the Page)??

What Code Should I Replace on the Scripts??

My Best Regards!! ;)

:)

lgw2981 12-02-2007 07:25 PM

Very Nice.....INSTALLED

Suggestion: what about turkeys for thanksgiving????

sandbender 12-03-2007 04:22 AM

This is REALLY cool. The first time I've seen snow in years...

However, one of my members is blind and uses a voice reader which bleeps when I turn on the snow. I was hoping it was just the larger snowflakes that hit the side of the frame and make it jump a bit, but it seems it's hitting the text that does her wrong. I don't really understand how that's happening, because the snowflakes don't reach the chatbox in Firefox... Any ideas?

I'll put in a user conditional for her, but thought you might like to know about this possible glitch.

Ummm... you apparently missed this a few pages back... helps to read the latest before you post and ask... it's annoying to waste more pages on the same subject... Also, Thanksgiving has gone and passed here. Where are you Pluto? ;)

ymy 12-03-2007 04:12 PM

This hack will be nice if it work auto by date to add seasonal effects
just choose date for seasonal effects.

thnaks
