Sounds fairly simple to do (undoubtedly I'll find it won't be) so yeah I'll give it a shot. Any other obvious options or extra stuff to do with Adsense sharing I should know about?
Thanks a lot! I'll just make some sort of how it works :)

USER-SIDE
The user will enter his Adsense ID and Channel ID in his profile.

ADMIN SIDE
1. Can turn Adsense Revenue Sharing on/off

2. Can configure the percentage (%) of how ads will rotate, i.e. 50% for the user (thread starter) and 50% for the default (the owner)

2. Can configure how many posts required before the USER's ADS will display in the areas of the forum.

4. Can configure number of days a user must be a member before they can participate in adsense revenue sharing

Optional: If possible sharing can be split on three: The Owner, The Thread Started, and The Last Poster. This way, users will entice to post becuase if he is the last poster then he has also the chance of showing his ads. The sharing can be 40%-30%-30%

:)

This ad is brilliant but i've got 1 problem. When using opera the ad works fine and is displayed as in pic 1 in the attachment. However when using firefox or i.e is is displayed way too the left as in pic 2.

I tried doing center allign but no luck. Any help appreciated!

RedTyger 12-20-2006 12:56 PM

sim10 12-20-2006 01:23 PM

tried it, didn't work..thanks for the suggestion though.

RedTyger 12-20-2006 03:19 PM

Ronak 12-21-2006 03:32 AM

Hornstar 12-21-2006 04:51 AM

I paid for one just like this, and now im thinking this one is even better lol

nice work.

chkdgate 12-21-2006 06:27 AM

RedTyger, I upgraded to 3.6.4 so I'll be installing this version soon. My question is that in this current version, did you also apply the custom mods that you made for me? I'll upload my custom version so you can see it again.

Edit the leftcolumn/rightcolumn_advertisement and alter style="padding-left/right:12px;" to your taste.

RedTyger... I just thought of a feature that might be useful for future versions of this plugin.

My advertisers pay me to run banner ads for certain time periods. Usually, monthly, quarterly or yearly. It would be great if we could place a start date and an end date for when these ads run.

That way, I could manage my banner ad program with all of my advertisers easier.

Thanks, CFDev

RedTyger 12-23-2006 10:51 PM

What, per banner? Per section? Globally?

cfdev 12-23-2006 11:18 PM

RedTyger... yes, per banner would probably be the best case scenario.

For example, say I have 10 advertisers. For simplicity, 10 rotating banner advertisements are displayed at the top of my forum. Throughout the year, the advertisers decide to advertise with me at different times. One may sign on quarterly from 10/1 - 12/31/2006. Another may sign on monthly from 10/1 - 10/31/2006. Finally, one may sign on yearly from 10/1/2006 - 9/30/2007. (I offer discounted rates the longer they decide to advertise with me.)

I have to manually keep a log of when they start advertising and when they end advertising with me. (In case they don't renew, I don't want them to get free advertising.)

Make sense? If I could automate this, so that there was a date check before the banner was displayed, that would be great.

I may well add this for the static banner code sections but for the random banners that's quite a major task I'm not looking to do at this stage, which I appreciate is primarily what it's for but if it's very important to you and you don't mind a required payment there's a mod by The Geek called GAB which does it per banner I believe.

Click Install so you don't miss updates...

cfdev 12-24-2006 10:59 AM

RedTyger... that makes perfect sense. Even if it were just "static" banners, that would be great. I'm all about product usability... and I think this would be a great feature to implement.

sanereddy 12-24-2006 11:00 AM

just paid for branding free for my 2 sites... great product

cfdev 12-24-2006 11:04 AM

RedTyger... a few other questions.

Your install instructions ask that we modify multiple files. If we don't plan on having banners appear in certain sections of our site, do we need to modify those respective files?

Also, your "screen shots" show left column and right column banner ads with Bart Simpson... your install doesn't create these columns, does it?

I just want to make sure before I import this plugin as I don't wish to have a left or right column with my forum.

Message received, thank you very much indeed! Please PM me with the URLs of the 2 forums and an email address for each so I can send future updates direct. :)

No, you don't need to edit any templates you don't want to add adverts to.

It does create the columns by itself, but like every other ad section you can turn them on or off in the AdminCP. All are off by default.

cfdev 12-24-2006 12:37 PM

One last question... if I already have a right column on my home page, will your plugin overwrite the files I have already modified? This is for another one of my forums. I just don't want any changes overwritten. See link below...

RedTyger 12-24-2006 12:40 PM

No, it won't. Nice theme by the way.

cfdev 12-24-2006 12:52 PM

Thanks for the compliment. I hope other gardeners like it as well. :D

maxicep 12-26-2006 01:33 PM

thanks. installed.

funkmeister 12-26-2006 03:04 PM

Can you give an example or screenshot of how this is supposed to look:

Quote:

Forumbit random advertisement code
If you want to use random rotations, enter your ad codes here separated by commas. You can put each set of code on a new line to organise them better as long as each line (except the last!) has a comma at the end.
Is it smart enough not to include the comma as part of the code?

So it goes like this?

Code:

<a href="adcode.html">Ad here</a>, <a href="anotherad.html">Another ad</a>
-OR-
Code:

<a href="adcode.html">Ad here</a>,

<a href="anotherad.html">Another ad</a>

Thanks in advance.

RedTyger 12-26-2006 03:40 PM

Yes, that's correct.

<MG>CP 12-28-2006 03:58 PM

Followed all instructions, it is working on the footer, when displaying all threads in a specific forum, but not in the threads themselves. Only step I could not follow was header_advertisement because there is no &nbsp; in our custom header which has an ad.

Any idea where I can start looking to find why it is not displaying when viewing threads?

RedTyger 12-28-2006 06:43 PM

If you're sure you've done the postbit edit correctly then I'd go back over your settings carefully.

<MG>CP 12-28-2006 07:48 PM

Thank you, I went over steps 2 and 3, but step 1 I missed the postbit edit.

triphp 12-29-2006 01:52 AM

Any updates on Adsense Revenue Sharing? :)

RedTyger 12-29-2006 09:42 AM

I ran into a problem or two doing it. But I've done most of it so I assume it'll be included whenever the next update is.

No estimates, done when it's done. :)

chrisbr 12-29-2006 10:20 AM

RedTyger,

Is there a way that we could make the side advertisements scroll down when users of the site scrollt down too? or is this not allowed?

RedTyger 12-29-2006 10:22 AM

Yes, but you'd have to edit the plugin and change it from using tables to divs. Plus it wouldn't work in IE 6 or below, cos it's crap.

chrisbr 12-29-2006 12:44 PM

Ahh okay then - heads up on IE being crap - i'll leave it for now!

FreshPrince 12-29-2006 04:29 PM

Hello,

I've been following the instructions here, but I did not see a line that I was told to replace in the instructions:

Quote:

v2.0 Find &nbsp; in your header template and replace it with $header_advertisement.

RedTyger 12-29-2006 04:59 PM

Just place it where you think best then, you can move it if it's not right. I can't help with custom templates.

FreshPrince 12-29-2006 05:46 PM

I put in the code for an ad in the "footer_advertisment" underneath this text:

<div align="center">
$footer_adcode
</div>

<p align="center">

Ads are not working on my site though.
