Almost 200 clicks !!!

Go, go , go

Allen I was wondering if it would be at all possible to get the PSD files for the gradients? I completely love the look and feel of your work but I wanted to color code it better to match my sports related site.

Thanks!

HollyS 01-12-2007 06:04 AM

Qaulity job Allan! I too would love to have the psd for the gradient and also would love to see a fluid version of this. Thanks a bunch!

Hey ALAN - very beautiful work - nice style
Thanx for the sharing

Allan, found a problem with your skin

http://www.unseenuniversity.co.uk/forums/?styleid=5

I've got a forum without a category at the top of the forums and it's expanded wide. Any pointers as to how I can fix it would be great :)

Hi Sres,

I have seen this before when I used this style. It has something to do with your first forum and categories. Check it out and see if you forgot to set a forum to Category. Maybe its the "The Mended Drum" forum or the one that comes after it.

Sres 01-17-2007 10:44 AM

It's because there is no category Adonfun, however that is a valid forum layout and I'd be grateful if someone can tell me what I need to edit (it's confusing in the styles section), as all the other themes for the site handle it correctly.

Sres 01-17-2007 10:46 AM

Actually I just noticed what is missing, it's the Forum Last Post Threads Posts header section, I'll compare it against my other themes to see if I can rectify it.

adonfun 01-17-2007 10:47 AM

Sres, try to change it into a category just to see what happens.

Some other people in this thread had the same issue and selecting a forum as category solved their problem. If this doesn't solve the issue on your board then someone else might have the answer for you.

Sres 01-17-2007 11:09 AM

I've solved it by adding the forum last post thread header, however there is now a fault at the bottom (only visible to admins) I can't find where the style gets $forumbits from, where the problem lies.

Sres 01-17-2007 11:39 AM

Ok, sorted it to my liking now, it's not perfect, but it allows you to have forums without categories now.

Hope will also make a fluid version soon indeed, think I will like it also, merci!!

It's easy to make your own fluid version.

Open up the xml file of you choice (Chestnut-style_vB3.6.4.xml)

Search for this line in the XML file
Code:

<template name="outertablewidth" templatetype="stylevar" date="1156846388" username="Allan" version=""><![CDATA[950]]></template>
Replace with this line

Code:

<template name="outertablewidth" templatetype="stylevar" date="1156846388" username="Allan" version=""><![CDATA[100%]]></template>
All I've done is change the width (which was set to 950 to 100%. Then just upload the XML in the standard way and name it Chestnut Fluid.

**Installed** my forumites love this theme!

Allan 01-18-2007 09:08 AM

More easy, AdminCP => Style & template => and choice chestnut, in stylevar, check the first value, on top, and change to 100% ^^

Sres 01-18-2007 09:13 AM

Didn't know that thanks :)

I've noticed that the none fluid site gets squashed if you add it too vbadvanced, it looks a shambles in the UserCP / Avatar section, I didn't know how to change the number of avatars it shows in the Uploaded Avatar section, if it showed 4 instead of 5 it would be great.

I alsoo noticed that you've hard coded the width in a number of areas like showthreads etc, this doesn't help with vbadvanced as it pushes it all out on the right and if an image is too large for the page it also cuts it.

chrisfay 01-23-2007 07:32 PM

Fantastic style! By far the most professional I've seen....Installed

Allan 01-25-2007 06:15 AM

Thanks :)

flindersredclaw 01-25-2007 07:58 PM

Hello

I just came here just to mention that. Can we have a button that says 'Quote & Reply' instead of just 'Quote'.

Thanks!
hanji

I'm having a really weird issue with the menu bar.

For someone not logged in the images don't align like they should. But the "Register" button appears as it should, the rest of the buttons to the right do not.

If you're logged in it all appears as it should.

If not, well, you can see the image I've attached.

Dang, that was a stupid, stupid, issue.

Just the spacing of my code, it wasn't parsing it correctly so it wouldn't work.

So, no need to worry. Sorry about that. I'll be clicking "installed" soon as I roll it out to my production forum from my testing site here shortly. :)

Red Spider 02-06-2007 09:04 PM

Best style on here, 5-5 :D

mtlcore 02-07-2007 01:31 AM

Installed but still get french buttons? Aide-moi svp. ;)

talenak 02-07-2007 04:41 AM

I'm having trouble adding the vbadvanced buttons for Home and Forums.

How do I add these buttons so that one shows up at the portal and the other shows up at the forums?

mtlcore: go to the folder with the english buttons and just replace the french buttons in their respective folders with them.

leitian 02-07-2007 04:54 AM

wow its cool~~~

I actually used the psd files that came with it and created a button that said reply to replace the quote button myself. named it the same as the quote button (which I think is actually reply, lol) and switched it out. It only took a couple of seconds.

If anyone has vbadvanced with this style could you please help me with the buttons (on the navbar)? I am having humongo difficulties figuring it out myself.

talenak 02-16-2007 04:37 PM

Nevermind, we got our buttons on.

Now we have another issue. lol When you rollover the UserCP button the rollover image shows up over the home button instead of where it belongs...

norollover shows the buttons where they are. the other (although printscreen doesn't capture the mouse) is what happens when I put my mouse over the UserCP button.

dbirosel 02-17-2007 07:56 PM

I love this style. Clean, smooth, different, love it. But i'm having a problem adding new forums. The new forum becomes out of sync and all messy. What's going on?

dbirosel 02-17-2007 08:04 PM

nevermind i fixed the problem thanks.
