Brandon Sheley 11-10-2006 02:27 AM

I installed it but for some reason my pin isn't showing ?

scottreeve 11-12-2006 06:31 AM

Great add-on.

All works fine, expect I can't get the 'usergroup legend' icons to work. Any hints?

Thanks

ditto, you can see the pins below, but not on the map ?

Did you make sure that the auto approve is on? You have to add your pin manually and either approve it or make sure the uato approve is on in the ACP.

I can't see the pins on the 'legend' (circled in your attachment) or on the map itself. On the map, all we can see is a shadow where the pins should be.

I wish the members could add their pins easier..
for them to copy and past the lat and log. takes to many steps :(

I just plop my pin in the location with the map that comes up and it works for me. I dont have to copy/paste my longitute at all. If I wanted to I could, but the map part of it makes it much easier.

ah, well i wasn't able to do that when i placed my pin, and a user said it was a bit of a task. maybe we just did it the hard way :hurt:

Its ok Guy's got it working now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

For thoes running a windows enviroment.
You need to add Everybody and make it read/write, You dont need execute. This is at the file level, not IIS level.

Great Mod

Desworks 11-27-2006 08:21 AM

I installed is using the instructions in the pdf. But no matter what I do under ME Full view & ME unapproved view show this in the admin panel:

No Elements available [ Return to previous page ]

Greek Wizard 11-27-2006 12:30 PM

I have this working fine, but when i changed over a registered user to a Super Moderator, his pin did not change color.

I have registered users as blue and super Mod as Green, and Admins as red.

the blue and red work fine, but no matter what color I make the super mod, it does not change.

i even tried to manually cron and update user ranks in maintenance and still nothing.

Any ideas?

Greek Wizard 11-28-2006 08:34 AM

Also, i am now starting to see apostrophes and slashes where I should not.

Seems to be like a php "Magic Quote" issue I seen a while back on something else.

I see the author has released a new hack, but yet does not support this one anymore.

That's probably because the value in the table hasn't changed.

In the next version this will work completely different.

I told a while ago that I'm working on the new version so changes in this one are a bit userless as the new version is progressing quite nicely.

I do have a lot to do.

Demanding support like you do feels a bit like a personal attack

Hello,

Been running the latest 2.5.2 version for a long time with no problems at all.

Today I installed memcached and starting using it for vBulletin, no problems at all.

However since I've installed and started running memcached the googlemap has stopped working.

At first it was telling me the key was wrong, so I hardcoded that in, but basically it appears it's not pulling anything from the database since I installed memcache and memcached.

It seems everything else I have on my site and forum is working fine, any ideas or suggestions?

I know that the previous version of vbadvanced also didn't work with memcached, but now does, so maybe whatever they did will work here too?

Thanks!

Hey mini,

Is it possible to exclude the googlemap script from memcached? just like VBSEO

I think you may need to contact the danga devs for that one. I don't know that script in detail

MThornback 12-09-2006 04:50 PM

Is it possible to run both this and hotspot edition together? If I wanted to use one for members and one for events.

Yes you can run both together.

Viper007Bond 12-10-2006 01:58 PM

Just tried it out. Pretty sweet! :D

However, it seems that by default, groups don't have a color of marker assigned to them. This results in a bunch of broken markers in the legend as it looks for "/images/googlemapme/mm_20_.png". Perhaps a default color is in order? :)

Viper007Bond 12-10-2006 02:52 PM

Found another problem. You need to run stripslashes(). ;)

Viper007Bond 12-13-2006 10:31 PM

I had to disable the part of the plugin that queries for each postbit. It was hammering my MySQL server. :(

"vbgooglemapme findme" which hooks into "postbit_display_complete". It made the queries required to make a thread nearly double. :(

Shazz 12-14-2006 11:27 AM

I stilll don't notice what it does
