Can anyone confirm this if it works fine on 3.6.4 please?

GNDI 01-21-2007 07:39 AM

Take a look at my site *** Removed *** I'm running vb 3.6.4 with a lot of other modifications and it works like a charm

Snake 01-21-2007 09:50 AM

Okay thanks, gotta install this then! :)

The Notorious 01-22-2007 12:41 AM

Can we use this hack as a suffix also? (Adds a word after thread title)

Snake 01-23-2007 09:08 AM

No, I'm not sure if you can do that with this hack I'm afraid.

TeamDevotion 01-27-2007 02:44 PM

not sure if this has been covered already but on my forums, users use threads to "+++++" and chat and i make them put *chat* in the thread title, these usually get deleted after a while so their post count doesn't increase as a result of whoring. Can you set a certain prefix to not count posts?

Shazz 01-27-2007 02:47 PM

Ever since this is the latest thing Ive put on the board I receive some mysql errors everyday
Only mod I have that does to it and I have over 35 Products installed mmmm..

It would probably be easier to set up a sub-forum specifically for that and choose the 'no count' option for it.

change the hook of plugin "Prefix: Get selected Prefix (Search Forums) " from "search_start" to "search_process_start" will fix it.

bjhuang 02-03-2007 04:31 PM

any answers? the bot fails if prefixes were required.

banuchi2 02-03-2007 10:36 PM

Can't hurt to ask....

I understand that we can set the number of prefixes to whatever number we want, i.e. 20
However, I would like to know if it is at all possible to have TWO prefix colums. i.e. 20 each or so.

I have a forum where I want members to post medical jobs. Having this THREAD PREFIX Mod allows me to put in an extra column such as STATE. However, I wanted another column such as "SPECIALTY"

So, my question is this...Can this be done?

Thanks.

banuchi2 02-04-2007 02:53 PM

One more question....
When installing, is it normal for the "Replace it with code" box to be empty on Showtread.php and functions_online.php ??

maxicep 02-04-2007 02:59 PM

nice reserved

Your reserving a post on page 12?

banuchi2 02-04-2007 11:00 PM

Ok, figured out that it's NOT normal to empty fields. In one of my steps it shows a "find this" to be blank....and then it says, "add this above that" Above what? Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

JohnBee 02-05-2007 12:59 PM

I installed and used this on many v3.5 forums and it worked well. However this version seems quirky. I am embarrassed to say that whenever I install it the entire post interface controls are rendered useless. (text formating, smilies, quote, code etc. ... not clickable)

Anyone seen this problem before?

*update, there was some confusion in the vbulletin_textedit.js file edits. I sorted it out - thx

JohnBee 02-05-2007 01:43 PM

Everything seems to work as advertised(so far) :)

I was wondering... is it possible to preload a default prefix in the drop down selector upon thread creation? I set the default thread prefix but it did not include it as a default prefix.

MimeSong Erk 02-06-2007 09:01 AM

Hello! I am enjoying your mod very much. I have a question, though, that with my limited understanding of vBulletin is pretty hard for me to figure out on my own. I would like to STOP the prefix from getting added to the browser title bar (ie. the top of the browser window). Everywhere else is fine, but up there causes some problems with the way I am using the prefixes. What do I have to take out to prevent the prefix being added there?

Thanks very much. Great mod, very handy! Bit of a beast to install >.< but worth it.

NOTE: an alternative solution that would be great would be to be able to specify images instead of text for the thread prefix. The reason I am having this problem is because my system to put images in the thread prefixes is rather complicated.

the coldfusion 02-06-2007 06:48 PM

Thanks! It works, but i got this problem:

What's the problem?

Shazz 02-06-2007 07:42 PM

looks like a template edit wasen't install right

JohnBee 02-07-2007 05:15 PM

Great mode! - Is it possible to remove the prefix from the postbit title?

SCRIPT3R 02-09-2007 04:53 PM

Mark as Uninstalled.

blankoboy 02-11-2007 12:13 PM

Mystics, any word on this getting bundled into a future release of Vbulletin (and thus being officially supported)?? :o

Is it possible to make (as a change of the normal mod) the prefix choice required, but you can choose an empty prefix? I'dd like to make my users obligate to choose, but the may also choose an empty prefix.

Snake 02-20-2007 08:43 AM

Mystics, first of all, great job on making this hack and I'm loving it. Though I'm having a problem here. My templates such as search_newposts are kinda messed up and that's prolly because of having the thread starter as it's own column. Here's the hack that I've installed on vB.com (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197265).

Could you help me out and fix this please? Would you like me to send you my templates or what?

Many thanks!

GNeRaL 02-21-2007 05:18 PM

Great hack, thanks.

Snake 02-27-2007 12:49 PM

Bump!

Sephirot 02-28-2007 06:23 PM

In reported posts the prefix was not displayed, although I've modified class_dm_threadpost.php.

For those of you who have this problem too, here is a the plugin code that fixes this problem.

prodcut: Thread Prefixes
hook: report_send_process
title: Prefix: Display Prefix in Front of Title (reports)
PHP Code:

if (!empty($threadinfo['threadprefix']) AND $foruminfo['allowprefix'])
{

$threadinfo['title'] = unhtmlspecialchars($vbulletin->options['prefixmarkup_start'] . $threadinfo['threadprefix']) . $vbulletin->options['prefixmarkup_end'] . $threadinfo['title'];

Amavisca 03-01-2007 08:47 AM

I got this error all arround
Call to undefined function: fetch_thread_prefixes() in /home/vietshar/public_html/newthread.php(457) : eval()'d code on line 4
also this happens for search.php

PLEASE HELP!!!!

SpanishHarlem 03-14-2007 06:10 PM

Great hack and in the process of installing it on a new forum . I have the default skin and in the editpost template when I look for this

<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="title" value="$title" size="50" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" title="$vbphrase[optional]" /></td>

It's not being found. Any idea what could be the problem?

Thank you.

Bye!

Yes, its on basically every mod :)

Bree 03-16-2007 08:06 AM

*Installed* This took a while to install (I'm probably just slow) but it was definately worth the work!! I love it! Thanks so much! vB 3.6.5 Always, Bree

TheMilkCarton 03-16-2007 08:36 AM

It took me a long time too. haha.

Any chance of somehow incorporating this with vB Event Forums mod??

The main reason I installed this was for my Events forum.. and now I can't use it. :(

I'll still enjoy this mod in other forums though. Good job!
