Release that admin kidnap thing. I'd love to be albe to redirect people to a diffrent page. Like when I send them a important PM redirect them there.

for those of us who will never be upgrading again past 2.3.0 due to the horror stories that we read about the rediculas time it takes if your site is big.

please consider releasing this for 2.0.3 first

although...I would rather have one that needs downloading since if you have a big site....there are too many that barely know how to turn their computers on rather than having to read all the e-mails from them complaining thaqt they don't know how to install plug-ins i.e. java or active-x

It would be kind of difficult (and a little useless) to release a hack for 2.0.3, when it is over 2-3 years old, and it has a lot of security holes anyways. Also, you'd have to acquire a fresh package of 2.0.3 to be able to make a hack that is completely compatible with 2.0.3, and it's not everyday that you find one of those.

If this hack does not use a server-push / client-pull method of transmission, then, Erwin is entirely correct -- it is essentially a variant of a static shoutbox with an adjustable interval refresh/reload time, and that spells really bad news if you expect to have more than 5-10 users simultaneously using this script. Server loads just are not meant to handle PHP output with a MySQL backend for streaming emulation, like a chat service would have.

I'd strongly advise looking into a server-push/client-pull mechanism for use with this script if you don't want to start consuming all of your CPU resources. Best of luck to you in this exciting endeavour!

First of all, it's its own thing, it doesn't support other chat software.

Second of all, why would you want a vBulletin messenger to support ICQ, when you can already use ICQ itself? ;)
