It's been a awhile since I installed this hack but ... there's a place in the instructions to exclude.

I think it may be in the mods to the index.php.

I installed it and excluded the forums I didn't want listed.

I agree however in the intructions it shows u a way around it
although when i tried it i messed ma forums up :p

Hello everyone i thought i'd make this quickly for those who want statistics that are huge. ( 20 is a big number )
--
Anyway this adds a table to your index.php forum page, which shows top20statistics.
--
it shows:
Top 20 posters
Top 20 Newest Members
Top 20 Latest Replies.
--------------------------------------------
I have tested the hack on vBulletin 2.2.9 and it should work on 2.2.x and it should also work on 2.3 though i havent tested it on that.
--
Expect in the near future a topstatistics page, Which gives tons of statistics, and you can choose how many by changing one field!
-------------
<B> Bug Reports/ Updates</B>
Found bug that stops it from showing top 20posters, which was just my porecoding. fixed though!
----------
Guys please click install!

That is just a rip-off of nano-entity's top10 statistics v1!!!

http://www.hololith.com/

this is the site with version v2, but you can still see your code was just ripped, since that hack exists for over a year now!

Neopiper 07-07-2003 12:12 AM

agree, it's a rip off, only seems to see how he change the installation order instructions

agree, it's a rip off,
After getting some complaints about this hack, I checked its source code and compared it with NanoEntity's code.

I can not say it is a rip off as structures do not exactly match. I don't think Chad copy/paste'd from NanoEntity's hack to create this one, it seems that he coded it with his own PHP knowledge.

However these 2 hacks are not "large hack projects" and at the end they do the same thing. Our policy about similiar hacks are:
a) If someone codes a large hack that already exists, it is allowed to release here, provided that he used his own algorithms and structures and coded from the ground without using any part of the former hack.
b) If someone codes a small hack that already exists, he is expected to release it in the existing hack's thread or get the other author's permission to open his own thread even if it was coded from the ground.

So I'm merging this thread with NanoEntity's hack's thread which would hopefully make everybody happy. :)

Thank you.

heh.. "Top 20 Newest Members" doesn't makes since if you think about it.

lifesourcerec 08-13-2003 05:15 PM

Is there a way to have a full length post titles? Going to remove the Newest Members tables to make room.

Okay, the installation was confusiong, while I was trying to figure out how to make it so that certain forums does NOT show up on the top 5 bar. How do I do that?
