Yes. For transactional pages that require SSL for security or PCI (payment card industry) compliance, the user is taken to a new page. The checkout page is an example of a transactional page that requires SSL (a secure socket layer).

You can check out the experience at any of our partner sites. Go here:
Porsche marketplacehttp://www.planet-9.com/classifieds.php
Click on any item. Click the "Buy Now!" button. You will see that we take the user to a secure page that is not hosted on your domain but references your domain.

Darn.

Looks like you have a great product. Credit card use online is dropping while paypal/google is rising and have secure payment (On Page) transactions. i would buy your product if users didn't have to leave my the website they were purchasing on.

Best of luck

Thanks for your kind words about our marketplace mod.

For the sake of clarity, we have the same 'on page' experience as PayPal or Google. If you don't have a SSL cert, you can't offer 'on page' check out. In the same way you might offer a PayPal powered 'check out' button and that button takes you to a new secure page, we too offer a 'check out' button that takes you to a new cobranded page. Google, PayPal, and we HAVE to do that in order to encrypt the payment information. If you have an SSL cert - that is another story.

Awesome news. Enthusify shipped a bunch of frequently requested features today. We warmly welcome version 2.0.1 of the marketplace plugin for vBulletin.

New features include:
  • When an item sells, the plugin updates the thread version of the listing with a 'sold' status.
  • When a seller edits a listing, the plugin updates the thread version of the listing with the new information.
  • A buyer's email receipt from a purchase now includes the seller's email address.
  • There is now a point-and-click way to redirect the 'Post New Thread' button of any subforum to the plugin.
  • The plugin can now route a listing to a designated subform based on the category the seller assigned to the listing.
  • Significant 'under the hood' changes should eliminiate the need to update 'classifieds.php' in the future.
  • An option to reorder categories.
  • And more. Find more details in the changelog.

We will see what we can do. We desire to move as much functionality under the vBulletin umbrella as possible while keeping the system PCI (payment card industry) compliant. The issue is the triangulation between the vBulletin platform, SSL, and browsers.

Enthusify 03-01-2013 11:40 PM

Today we are excited to release a massive update to the Enthusify marketplace plugin for vBulletin. Below find a list of 35 new features and fixes. A major thanks goes out to the thousands of buyers and sellers who use the tools and give us a steady flow of feedback. Thanks also to the many forum owners who tell us how we can help them improve service, grow revenue, increase engagement, and eliminate disputes.

*) Fixed a bug that left a space for the item image on the checkout page, even when the item has no image.
*) The ?forum username? field can now be used to match purchases with connected user accounts.
Useful for leaving feedback and for the upcoming ?My Orders? page.
*) Fixed a bug where users wouldn?t see any results if they made a search that returned fewer result pages than the amount of pages they had already navigated.
*) Fixed a bug where edits to listings by mods reassigned the owner of the automatically generated thread.
*) Fixed a bug where purchases of offers did not reflect the offer price if the payment was not being processed by Enthusify.
*) Sellers can now collect payment with Enthusify and receive a buyer?s payment on the same day.
To do this, they need to authorize a valid credit card.
This is reflected in all the communication buyers and sellers receive surrounding a listing.
*) If a thread is generated for a new listing, the success page will now link to the newly created thread.

We are looking at this product as it looks very nice and you guys have been great with keeping it up to date.

Question regarding profits... I need a bit more clarification on how conmission is being collected here. Examples

If a members decides to place an item for sale and chooses to collecte via paypal only do you guys charge a fee for that transaction since paypal is already chargeing a fee?
If a member chooses to sell an item and only accepts CC like Visa and discover how does he get paid once the buyers pays with his CC and does that cost the seller 10% of the sale for you
Guys to process that payment for them? Out of the 10% we (the forum owner) gets 5% of that correct?

Just trying to figure out the overall expense because if the seller only accepts Visa and how much does this end up costing the seller, can you give a break down on the fees

Seller is selling an item for $100 and only accepts paypal ?

Seller is selling an item and only accepts major CC card?
How does the seller get paid?
What are the charges to process and sell the $100 item
When does the seller get paid?
What is the refund process and what protection does the buyer have?

Enthusify 03-09-2013 02:51 PM

To put the following answers in context I should note one thing first. At this time, the Enthusify plugin just has a "final value fee" revenue collection/generation feature. Listing fee and promotion fee features are coming soon. In fact if you visit one of our partners today, you are bound to see us testing those forthcoming features.

If a members decides to place an item for sale and chooses to collect a buyer's payment via PayPal, Enthusify does not charge the buyer or seller a fee for that transaction. The seller creates the listing for free. The buyer pays the listing price to the seller via PayPal. PayPal collects their fees.

If a member chooses to have Enthusify collect, verify, and transfer the buyer's payment to the seller, then the seller will incur Enthusify's 3% final value fee and whatever fee you the forum owner add to that. Let's say you want to collect 2% from every successful transaction, then, when a seller sells a $100 item, the seller will get $95, Enthusify will get $3 (most of which goes to credit card interchange fees, and the forum owner will get $2.

Enthusify transfers the seller's $95 to the seller via PayPal (fee free), check, or direct deposit.

If the seller wants Enthusify to collect and verify payment, Enthusify transfers the buyer's payment to the seller via PayPal (fee free), check, or direct deposit.

If a seller collects payment from a buyer via PayPal, Enthusify does not offer any dispute resolution service or protection.

If a seller collects payment from a buyer via Enthusify's payment processing service, then Enthusify offers dispute resolution and full refund protection for up to 14 days. A buyer can extend the 14 day protection period by notifying Enthusify that there is an issue. You can review our terms of service (see section 11) to learn how we handle different kinds of disputes that may arise.
