This plugin seems to not allow me to save changes in the backend as far as plugins go, but I could disable it and make the changes. So I updated to 2.5 and now I can't disable or uninstall it or make changes to it's setting to enable xCache authentication or even shut it off. It also seems if I manually remove the files my site just has white screens front end and back end.
Any advice? |

Thank you, that allowed me to make changes.

It won't really provide a noticeable difference in performance unless you have a very high concurrent users count, I'm glad you got it working :)

It's actually been slower, but perhaps it is a coincidence? I just got an email from one of my moderators (who didn't know I installed this):
"The site has been running very slow for me today. Is that just on my end or have you noticed also? Other sites seem to work fine. I'm also using Chrome." I may have to disable to see if it makes any difference. |
It could be, we have had no reports of vB Optimise slowing down page loads before :)

My forum has indeed been very bogged down since installing, but we did have some pretty high traffic so it seems that would be more likely the reason. Optimise has saved us 4.4 million queries in just a few days.
I see this feature in the Pro version: Full Guest Caching Ability to cache entire pages and serve them saving not only hundreds of queries but upto 90% of CPU processing towards Guests. This may be what I'm looking for since a lot of our visitors are guests. If 75% of our visitors are guests, would you be confident that this "90%" savings in CPU usage from guests would be our solution? I'm looking to upgrade the server but considering trying this first. Although the server upgrade might be cheaper. :) |
There's zero way for me to confidently say one way or the other, but I do know that if the majority of your users are guests then you would see a major increase in performance relative to the guest:member ratio :)

Can someone please help me?
Getting this error after converting to CloudLinux (confirmed its APC though, since sites work after I remove APC info from php.ini) Quote:
