Why am I a jerk? Because I refuse to own a Mac?

I actually happen to like Windows and Switched from Macintoshes to a Windows Platform years ago. I got tired of not being able to swap hardware, find programs that I wanted or play a lot of games. I don't have an Apple store near me. The closest one is 60 miles away in Los Angeles which I avoid. Exactly one computer store in town sells Macs and they will only deal with you if your buying ten units or more.

Every single computer in the local schools are Windows-based PCs (thanks to Microsoft and Lockheed-Martin). My son is required to have a Windows-based PC for his homework. I could go on.

I, personally, know exactly one person who has a Mac as her personal computer. She is always having problems with it. I never have problems with my Vista computer. I never had problems with XP. Windows 98 and 95 were shaky but that isn't an issue these days.

please, population, consider this comment as a non-standard among Mac users... this is just a pathetic attack from someone without any idea what the word jerk means... neither elitist if i understand right...

when I had a PC I had millions of problrms with them. Vista is just a failure operating system. XP was good but the problems I had were stupid.

So now I have a mac I have not got in to any problems so far...

Why do threads like these always turn into debates on which is better? Can't it just be put down to personal preference?

personal preferences are related to the better... someone told me to stop starting debates... close the thread if you are not happy...(i talk about the moderator side of view here, not you personally) when people compare what they have and what they don't it is ALWAYS a comparaison... not difficult to understand the statement.

though, i gave facts on why i personally prefer a Mac vs Windows... some are just "i heard that"... this is not related to the topic... as the starter asked YOU... not "others"... this is when the point is not made and where people are going off-topic just to say their word...

though, a community lounge have its rage of debates, usually they are locked down because of some insults... this thread did not go there yet

Friendly debate is fine. Personally, I am a Mac user. I despise windows only because I have real experience with it at school and -- trust me on this one -- any body would hate it. Can't do anything and half the operating system is locked and it's just a pain in the ass.

oh, and if i remember right, there was never a horror film with a Mac involved... a lot of Maniac Computers were run the nix way, or like Collossus, driven by DOS... killed millions. lol the only Mac based adventure i know about is an old version of Flubber... :)
