I asked in the 3.8 forum but I guess I gotta ask here too. Can this download mp4 instead of flv?

It can't download in mp4 format because the original video in in .flv format. (Flash video file).
However, i have coded another script which will allow users to convert their flv videos into .avi .I don't think so it is important.

Youtube vids can be downloaded in either their high res .mp4 or pre-existing converted format .flv with other download utilities. I'm using a script now which gives you both options. .flv resolution is very grainy and unscalable.

Can you get this to download the video and name it with the .flv so you don't have to rename it? It would be sweet if users would not have to do that extra step. Some users will pass this by because of that extra step...

For people that do not have a free converter I give a link below.

I use this converter and it is free but watch when you install as they ask if you want to install a toolbar - just say no.

It will be there in v 2.3.

Info about v2.3:
Guests can't use this Tool
Auto rename to .flv.

Will add more features if it will be discovered soon.

That would be sweet to get higher res mp4. Could this mod do what your script does?

I found the problem but the solution is also little weird.
UPgrading instructions: Uninstall the product.
Delete the "youtube" template manually from Styles and manager.

Now upload the new product attached in this post.
After doing this Go to Styles and Manager>>Your style>>and open "youtube" template.

Without doing anything,click on save button.
This will make your hack work. Since i am newbie coder,i really wanted to find out why is this happening.
Now i am sure it is working fine.
And also you are using version 2.0 as it is there in your profile.
