That's normal, because mutual friends are friends you and some other user have in common. You can see them on the profile of that other user. It would make no sense to have them shown on your profile, because that would compare your friends with your friends.
So basically, everytime you visit someone's profile, your friends are compared with the friend's of that person and those you have in common are shown in the mutual friends block of that person. So in a way you don't have one "own Mutual friends block" but you can find a different "own Mutual friends block" on every profile you visit.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that Mutual Friends are friends that have befriended you back. In vB normal friends are only shown when they have befriended you back. Otherwise they would be contacts and not friends.
