It's very nice, I wish this hack could show usergroup colors though.
A few things I would also like to see is:

1. Add remove users from the list at random(improve realism).
2. Assign no. of fake users by range ( ex: 10 - 50 ).
3. Enter a time(range) for username redistribution (ex: 5 - 45 Mins) for shuffle. (see no.2)
4. Make compatible with usergroup colors.

imo this could greatly enhance the realism of this hack and make it a tremendous help to forum owners.

one small issue. If users click on a link of one of the currently active users, they'll transfered to the users memberinfo and there they can see the "real" last activity option.

Your hack should fake this also for the time being or?

Ok, I know this is not my modification, but this guy has not updated in a long time and I've managed to find a temporary fix to a big problem involving this modification.


As it stands, this modification when installed, shows all members in usegroup 2 (registered members) as being online in the "what's going area." Although this is a grand idea, a problem arises when actual members see their username online while they are not online. This could actually harm your forum, I think. So to alleviate this problem, you have to edit this modification a little bit.

I chose to edit this mod using notepad and this is what I did.

Open the .xml file using notepad and look for the following code:"user WHERE usergroupid = '6'

Mine says '6' because I tested this with the admins at my forum, but your .xml file will display usergroup 2.

It is obvious that this modification already functions on usergroup permissions, so what you have to edit is the usergroup id that you want to appear online. Usergroup id 2 is for actual members, so if I were you, I would create a whole new usergroup just for this modification alone and place the id in the appropriate location in the .xml file and then upload it to your admincp.

This should not be difficult as most of us already have fake users in our admincp, I know I do and I'm sure you do too.

Notice: this slight update from me only addresses that one problem. I'm currently looking at other means of updating the others issues surrounding this modification, even though it is not mine.

This modification is just too good to let it "sit here and rot."


There you have it, one problem, slightly fixed.
