Has there been any thought of integrating this into the Google Desktop sidebar?

Possibly in the future, but it will not be a primary focus as supporting a 3rd party product is not really something im looking forward 2.

Not only will it require a seperate codebase, i would have to learn how to use the google desktop api.. I just dont have time to expand into new areas right now.

Thanks for the response. It really is a great "hack" you've got. I'd love to see it integrated with Google, so I'm subscribing to this thread for updates.

Does this app affects the "las time online" date? I mean, if i dont enter X forum within 2 days but the program is running, when I go back to the forum it says "Your last visit was 1 minute ago".

You have to be logged in to check new messages, which is why it uses the cookie bbuserid/bbpassword.

If there was an API developed by vbulletin or possibly myself in the future; we could handle plaintext username/password logins and retrieval of personalized forum info without the need to route through the vbulletin session system.

In short; currently yes you will be shown as logged in as long as its checking your private messages.

I was working on a system like this, but used a java server to communicate to the apps. But it was site dependent. Imma look at the source, wish it was .NEt tho.

Menu Configuration is in process, should be available soon; manual editing of the configuration file is to be a thing of the past very soon.

As for .NET sorry; I dont code in any Microsoft derived languages or libraries for a reason. :)

I haven't installed it, yet, as I am on a Mac. But once your Mac version comes out I would be delighted to help with the testing process.
