cant wait for the vb4 version,recently upgraded my forum and not having xperience is something members really miss,we had hundreds of achievements and a great promotion system that really kept users active in pursuit of those things.

I'll be glad to give feedback on the beta when it arrives,which cant be soon enough for me

Phalynx can you maybe provide us a link to your vb4 test board for now? So we can take a look around just for curiosity and maybe even find some bugs??

If there is a critical bug then you will get an update.

As for the beta it seems that I will not release it today. There are still showstoppers regarding Promotions and Shop. I will release today evening (European time...) some screenshots so you can see the progress for yourself. I expect the beta in the week of 7th June.

Next week I'm on vacation, so no updates and no support during this time.

As promised, here are a view impressions of the new vBExperience 4 for vBulletin 4.0.x

Beside the new features that vBulletin 4 has like a reworked interface, there are a few new features like easier handling of plugins, around ten colors for the bars. Achievements and promotions have been fully integrated since they were introduced in vBulletin 3.8.5

How do I set up achievements? I had an achievement for no infractions and I said Infractions = 0, but I nor anyone else gets the achievement.

Also if I set it up so if they have no infractions, when I they get an infraction, will it take away the achievement?

I have the problem that users doent earn new achievements - they only get them when I manually refresh the achievements via AdminCP.
It seems that a scheduled task or something is missing - I didnt find anything relating to achievements in them. Do i need to manually add something there?

Hello Phalynx, this looks very interesting, will you have the ability to integrate 3rd party add-ons like downloadsII in the vB4 version? Or will we be able to add actual downloads like style downloads as zip-files in the shop?

(I have not clicked installed as I do not use this yet, I am hoping to be able to use it on my styles site with the vB4 version!)

How can we enable users to sort which shop items they want to display in postbit?

Is there any way of using the ranking list for a single sub forum permissions without using the vBExperience internal promotion system? We have several promotion rules in the forum already, and are not sure that rebuilding this is the best option.

Can someone please give me a comparison between vbexperience (free) and vbactivity (you have to buy this one)? I hate to pay that much for VBactivity if it is gonna be basically the same thing.

While I'd also love to have it now, It's going to be damn near impossible for him to release a stable version of this mod with the current issues in 4.x . The ratings system in the software STILL doesn't function properly in CMS, particularly if blogs are disabled. Not only does he have to convert the mod to 4.x- he has to fix the BUGS (in 4.x) for it to work properly.

vBExperience will always stay "full version" without "light" or "limited". Tell me what you need and I can say you if will be satisfied with vBExperience.

Yes. The plugins will be refreshed to reflect changes to templates. So you can install around 20 plugins - as long as there is a vB4-version of the relevant hack.

These seems to be a very good hack. Installed.

I am thinking about creating some atmosphere of competition between my users, and this seems a very good choice. Will be better though if there can be some 'mini games' where users can 'attack' each other with their strength is correlated to their points, or maybe they can use some of their points to buy items that can enhance their attack or defense stats.

My goal is to have 6 different questions in their profile that would trigger 6 different achievements. In other words, if they want an achievement, no problem... check this box if you earned it - we believe you. It seems their profile is the easiest way to trigger this - since I can look up the data in vBE.

I've modified the XML to accomplish that what you are searching for. In the XML you need to duplicate the points for all achievements. With that XML you should be able to collect data that can be used for achievements

You don't need any options to play with.

Just some questions.. I already uploaded all my files and overwrote it, those in the folder upload via ftp.

But what about the xml? It's name is "product_vbexperience385.xml"

and I see there is a second one named "vbexperience_level_2_average.xml" What's this for?

EDIT: Ok so I imported the 385 one, and it said ...

"This product is not compatible with version 4.0.3 of vBulletin. (Compatible starting with 3.6.99 / Incompatible with 3.9.99 and greater)"

EDIT: nvm.... it's for 3.8.5...should look better. Eh, well I guess I'll keep waiting for vb4 :(
