You don't, if you don't understand it. You should always read the entire mod's thread before installing any mod. All your questions have probably already been answered. And if they haven't, you shouldn't install it.

Been having lots of slowdown issues due to this mod but it's central to my forum so required. My hosting co had to disable it finally due to over 39K tables reads per second on vsa_chatbox. Has there been any optimization done around this? I can't keep upgrading forever :D

Any chatbox can be a serious resource drag, especially if it's 'central' to your forum. I've got mine configured as a shoutbox, but you may want to look into hosted chatboxes like Addon Chat.

Unlikely, as there wouldn't be enough room. But by all means search the thread and see if anyone's done it.

The title can be changed in Phrases. AdminCP>Languages and Phrases>Search in Phrases>"Chatbox" leads you to vsacb_chatbox - just hit the Edit button next to it.

We are having the same issue with no Smilie icon image in chat box :( been working on it now for hours, installed on other 4.15 and all is good same mods and Nojoy here:down:

if u want to fix this problem just save sum smiles then rename that smiles into "smilie" then upload into ur editor folder of ur skin

Unfortunately I tried this and all directories and rest of site does not has image issues. To make sure I included the gif images which already had the same images in png format as you provided.

I am perplexed, I have load this same mod on numerous other boards and 4.15 so not sure where to look hoping coder can offer fix.

Can't get the chatbox to work, just says loading all the time, even when i try and enter a messager. :(

might be a problem with the server .. some shared servers will not let this mod work..
from what I have seen

Anyone getting the DB error above the chat? Other than that, everything seems to be working. vB4.1.6

If you "Search this mod" for a distinctive term like "class_bootstrap" you'll find a solution that worked for at least one person. Let us know if the same works for you.

I did the search, and thank btw. I found another post that recommended installing VSa Advanced Rules, and the next post said it worked. I installed the Advances Rules, but the DB error is still showing. I reviews the settings of the Advances Rules as well. Is there something I am missing?

I have been facing this right from beginning of forum and not able to sort it out. I use VSA- Chat Box & Vsa Advance Forum Statistics. When i login into forum the chat box & advance forum statistics doesn't load. The screen shows loading, but no progress is seen. when i click on the main Forum button next to What's New the Chat Box & Advance Forum Statistics gets loaded. I made changes in Index file located in Public_html, but didn't succeed. I have given the contents of my Index file below. Can someone pls advise me the exact problem and changes to be done, it will be very much helpful to me as i am beginner to Vbulletin.

My Vbulletin Version is 4.0.8

I think you misread that. He had an older version of AFR and solved the problem by updating it. More importantly, as they did when solving it then, try disabling all your other mods one at a time to see if one of them isn't the culprit and maybe needs updating. Other than that, maybe try writing directly one of the people involved before.

If you have problems with missing icons quick fix is provided in attached OPTIONAL_icons.zip.

These questions have all been answered previously in the thread, some quite recently. If you simply use the 'Search this Mod' function, you should find your answers in short order.

The "OPTIONAL icons" has been fixed the problem with chatbox in Internet explorer.

Grettings, how would I go about displaying the chatbox in only one category.

For instance we have a podcast section of the forums and would find this handy for users to be able to chat with guys on the show. However, we find it an unnecessary feature elsewhere and wouldn't be of much use. Is it possible to display this only in a specified section, and not others.

As a suggestion.. I would recommend you creating a good hide mod. There's no performant hide mod around and I think it would be a success.
