Then there's nothing more I can do, sorry :(

The problem is not in my mod, it's in AME. I have previously given the author a 2 line fix for the error but he refused to add it to his mod.

I have installed everything correctly, but for some reason it doesn't show under my navbar. Any solutions?

To put vBShout in a custom location, do the following:

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

Step 2: Change the Auto-Display Shoutbox setting to Disabled.

Step 3: Write down the the Varname setting. For the default shoutbox, it's instance1. The rest of this guide will assume you replace instance1 with the actual Varname if it is different.

Step 4: Enter the Style Manager and add either {vb:raw show.vbshout_instance1} (vB4) or {$show[vbshout_instance1]} (vB3) to the templates you wish the shoutbox to appear in.

Follow these steps as described and you will have total control over the position of the Shoutbox.
Please note that some locations may not work as intended on vBulletin 3.8, and also note that it is not designed to go in the Forum Blocks side-bar (vBulletin 4).

after upgrading to vBShout v6.0.3

the shoutbox doesn't autorefresh anymore. I've checked the permission of aop and it's 777

update: after reverting to 5.4.8, auto refresh is working again

theredone 02-05-2012 04:21 AM

Is it possible to disable the Thread replies thing for certain forums only?

Sadly doing that makes it impossible for me to assist you :(

You probably just forgot to revert some templates that were updated :)

Lite version can only manage by Category, Pro version can manage by forum as well :)

We have not enabled the shoutbox in the admincp since we upgraded our site from 3.X to 4.X. We would like to get it back up and running, but knowing how many times things have been upgraded and all we thought uninstalling and starting fresh might be the best idea. However, I don't know the procedure 100% for removal of the old files in the cpannel. Can you tell me what to remove to get the old 3.X out of the cpannel so I can get the upgraded files installed? I feel confident installing the new, just not un-installing the old.

DragonByte Tech 03-02-2012 10:22 AM

Uninstalling and reinstalling isn't necessary, upgrades should work fine. In either case, beyond following the various Upgrade Instructions files, deleting files aren't necessary either.

To delete the files, open your downloaded zip and find the files within, then delete those files on the server :)
