When I started vBSEO Sitemap Generator for the first time, I got this error message:

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.4:

Invalid SQL:

INSERT INTO cronlog
(varname, dateline, description, type)
VALUES
('vbseo_sitemap_task',
1260252102,
'Google Sitemap Created',
0);

MySQL Error : MySQL server has gone away
Error Number : 2006

The waiting for page automatic reload was very long, about 40 seconds. At the end it said this error message. What went wrong?

Dang can't figure this out I did not change ANYTHING in the settings - the sitemaps get created OK they all go to /forum/vbseo_sitemap/data/ but in the sitemap_index.xml.gz all the URL's for the 150 sitemap files show the URL as forum/sitemap_148.xml.gz ???
Show Google says "it appears your sitemap is a HTML page..''
Any idea's ??

Did you put the .htaccess file in your forum root? This will redirect Google to these URL's!

After uploading the attached file to your forum directory, rename file (delete the ".txt") so that it can be read as a .htaccess file. After that the file should be ".htaccess" in your forum root. Try that and let me know.....

Thanks I figured it out I had to modify the vbseo_sitemap_config.php file to use forum root all is ok now

Oh yeah, I had to do that as well, if you scroll up you will see the link to edit the index.php file.

Here is the link: http://www.vbseo.com/f67/sitemap-dow...tml#post197608 is this what you mean?

Really, everyone should read and re-read the recommendations for installing vBulletin 4 over at vBulletin.com.

The majority of the add-ons you've been using with 3.x are NOT going to work with 4.0. That means you have a choice: uninstall any add-on not yet upgraded, or wait to upgrade to 4.0 until the add-ons you consider to be essential have been updated. Otherwise, you are just begging for grief.

I believe that is a given, I have a fresh install of 4.0 gold. I have no add ons out side of what I will be testing as a tester for various like VBseo. I am looking to get 2.6 and am waiting for addons to be updated

Very good Point though
