I have been all over this and there has been no clear instructions on how to add a link into the navbar I have tried but it does not disply within the navbar always outside the navbar.

Some help please.

I already have a forum section for people to submit images and people to comment on them. By any chance can i convert that particular section into photoplog ?

Its hundreds of threads and images already in my forums..

That would be beyond the scope of the modification.

Hence the reason it says Not Supported at the top of the thread. ;) And if you read a little bit further down, you'll see that Full Support is given at Photoplog.com.

Support is not making new versions all the time. Support is keeping up with the questions and issues that people have with your product. Making new versions has nothing to do with that.

Besides, if the product still works, has no vulnerabilities, then what are you supposed to add? If there's nothing to add or change, then a new version isn't necessary.

tom212 11-19-2008 08:22 PM

vB 3.7 of course has features like albums, etc to display some photos.

What happens IF I install this and then down the road decide to uninstall it? Obviously all the images remain on my server, but are they usable anywhere else? Actually that sounds like a dumb question I guess. I'm wondering if down the road if this product goes away, do I just have a folder of useless images or are they shared with some other vB feature that would continue to be in existence such as albums.

I suspect the answer is no, but I was interested in users experiences.

Thanks,

Tom

They are not shared with any vB feature. So if you uninstall it, the images are only salvagable through FTP.

I'm getting these errors

However once i remove a , in the config i then get a new error

Help would be appriciated :)

Digital Jedi 11-21-2008 03:38 AM

For your first error, take a look at the second post of this thread. It means your path was improperly set in your config.php file. Not sure why you removed that comma but you may need to start over with a fresh config file

Whats the difference between this and the albums built into Vb?

I'll take KIS and best coding practice over 'feature rich' any day.

This was created before the Albums feature was. This allows users to put images in a categorized Gallery, rather then a personalized photo album. Think of the difference between an actual gallery and an actuall photo album. That would essentially be the same difference.

Can anyone help me, i have just installed photoplog and when i try and upload an image i just get a blank page, i have check the full path in the config file and that is correct and i have also check the url link in the settings and that seems to be ok.

Thanks for any help :)

GotWalked 11-29-2008 09:53 AM

Great work! Installed-

A word of suggestion-
for the first page where you put the code for the navbar and memberinfo ect, put the regular "find x, add below". That would make this mod complete!

Please help, simple query -

How do I add a 1 pixel border around each thumbnail on the forum index page?

Nintendo-Daily 12-04-2008 11:16 PM

Hey guys, I just installed it and I can see the PhotoPlog Group in my AdminCP but I don't notice any change on my forum homepage. I've create 2 test categories and I still do not see any change on my forum home page.

Any ideas?

Categories are created in Photoplog, on the photoplog index page. They are not part of your forum home page. They are not the same as forum categories.

Nintendo-Daily 12-09-2008 09:33 PM

I figured it out...thanks :)

I was equally as confused. But if you go to http://yourdomainname.com/photoblog (or wherever you put the photoblog folder) you'll see it there (if you change the usergroup permissions). Even the admin group is set not to be able to see/do anything at first. But if you edit the permissions & go to that URL you should see something.

If you still don't you might want to try adding categories.

Otherwise you do have to add the link to your navbar yourself. I actually created a board that redirects to it (for web graphic designers & that's what the gallery is for).

Also did you go all the way to the bottom of the page for the extra notes? I just did this following the directions & I can see random thumbs on the forum home-page like we're supposed to: http://www.dawnswebdesigns.com/forum/index.php. Plus if you look at a post you'll see under the arcade scroll the link for gallery & that I've added 2 images so far.

Which was why I came in here. THANK YOU so much for making this. I've been looking for a gallery mod forever. It's working pretty good so far. TY TY TY TY. :D

Somewhere either at the top of this thread or perhaps some of the first couple of posts you have the code to add this link to the navbar. It don't tell you where to put it. I tried posting that code in a few places...first of all it adds 2 links side by side. Plus it goes above all the rest of the links. I could chop up some code around it & get it added but I decided to have a board redirect to the URL instead. But others might want it added. If you could get the correct code plus note in the instructions people must add the link to the navbar manually I think this mod would be as close to perfect as a mod could get. I think for the first time I'm gonna vote for a mod of the month & it's gonna be this one. :p

Did you run this script to make sure your path is correct:

PHP Code:

<?php
echo getcwd();
?>

And is the http:// link set up properly in the Admin CP?

Copy and paste the script into whatever HTML editor you use and save it as a PHP file. Upload it to your forum root and then navigate to the file in your browser window. It will then return the correct path to your forum.

Hi guys,

I have installed photoplog and I simply love it. However there is 1 tiny bit of help that I need and that is changing teh <title> tag of the gallery/photoplog homepage page. I tried registering an account on photoplog.com but they always gave me a "Image verification unsuccessful due to incorrect reCAPTCHA™ parameters. Contact the admin." error.

So does anyone know how to change the title tag? My url is: http://forums.webproxytalk.com/free-proxy-templates/

I re-named photoplog folder name to free-proxy-templates for SEO purposes. The current title tag on that page is "Proxy Forum - PhotoPlog - Gallery". Is there any way I can change that title to "Free Proxy Templates - Phproxy, Glype Themes" ? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

My config.php path setting...

If my vbulletin forum is located in the home directory what would the path be?

PhotoPlog is a phrase. To change yours, in your admincp, Click Languages & Phrases, Search in Phrases. Search for PhotoPlog. You will find what you are looking for.

I am getting "security token" error when trying to test the upload on a new install.

vb 3.6.12, new install, no addons
photoplog lite 2.0.7

forum home: /var/www/html/vb368
1. tried installing /var/www/html/vb368/photoplog (underneath forum home)
link: 127.0.0.1/vb368/photoplog

2. tried installing /var/www/html/photoplog (outside forum home)
link: 127.0.0.1/photoplog

same error both times.

Cookies are still at default set by vb install.

Using Administrator login
All Permissions set
Able to create categories, etc, just cannot upload an image to any category.

If I can get this working reliably, I have no problems upgrading to Pro version.
