This is one of the things that's supposed to come in the next version I think. It was stated many pages back in this thread by the author. Hopefully that version comes soon.

I have users reporting that anytime a new post is made to the shoutbox, their entire browser window flashes every time a new line is typed out. As you can imagine, this is a lot of flashing lights on a busy day. I haven't personally seen it that bad, but I will get my browser to flash once or twice towards the end of a rendering.

It was suggested to me by a friend that this might be because the MySQL packet size on my server was set too high (32MB). Set it down to 16MB, but this didn't really do much. Any other suggestions on how to alleviate this?

Just a quick question, when i try and use the /help or /clear command nothing happens.

I'm not too worried about /help but definetly would like to get /clear working, or another way to clear the shoutbox! Thanks!

I have know idea whats going on there since this version of GCBOS (0.6) does not contain any hooks that touch thread's or posts it could possibly be another modification.

The none typing in 0.6 was done for a board i use a i didnt include it in this release, however i think i have a better method of disabling it and it will realesed soon.

Ok in the above where you have "{vb:rawphrase Shoutbox}" change that to ShoutBox

or change {vb:rawphrase Shoutbox} back to {vb:rawphrase GCBOS} and then search your phrases for CGBOS and change the appropriate phrase.

the second is the correct way to do but either way will work.

That worked, thanks.

Is there any way to turn off Private Message notice?

I don't have any other mods installed, so I think it's probably some interaction with the forum software itself. As you say, most likely having the shoutbox set to not type everything out on refresh will alleviate the problem, so I'll wait and try your next update. Thank you kindly for the reply!

Is there a way to turn it off? Please let me know, because it is displaying EVERYONE'S pms , basically spamming the chatbox, would be better if it could show who received pm, PRIVATELY, not to the public.
