Is it possible to somehow import the following thumbs/dislikes from the following plugin: [AJAX]Thumbs Up?

Thanks in advance,

Sorry, no, only vBSEO Likes and Abe's Post Thank You Hack is supported at this time.

I don't see it anywhere in the post.php file

The code exists on line 259 in /vb/legacy/post.php.

The Thanks mod doesn't add a "tagged" tab to any chat box. For the User Tagging mod, you can disable the plugins running on plugin names starting with "dbtech_vbshout" :)

One question and one request.

The question: Is the Thanks and Like button will ever be avaiable in Tapatalk ? I've read on Tapatalk forum that they will not support it.
http://support.tapatalk.com/threads/...t-thanks.9734/

The request: Please, update the OP. There's a new version out there: 3.1.0.

Is there a way to defines what content within the post may only be readable after the person click thank you.

Where the the poster define the desired content to be hidden by putting them between a bb code (e.g. [hide] CONTENT OR LINK [/hide]).

And before he hits the button an elegant message appear as (Hidden content please click "Thank you button" to see hidden content.)

That is indeed a feature, yeah. You can set a default button to be required, or users can click Go Advanced and configure it themselves.

Ensure you've configured "Can Click" permissions for each of your usergroups in the Manage Buttons interface in the AdminCP.

EDIT.

whitey92lx 04-16-2013 08:17 PM

figured it out.

animeking1120 04-21-2013 02:39 AM

I installed this on 4.2.1 and get this when I visit anything on the forums
Code:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/cherrysk/public_html/forums/dbtech/thanks/includes/class_cache.php on line 199

Protium 04-21-2013 04:18 AM

I upgraded to 4.2.1 yesterday with no issues.

I am not using VB Optimise though which line 199 appears to refer to in your error.

Yeah it appears hat vb optimise interferes with this plugin. I disabled vb optimise and it works fine.

DragonByte Tech 04-22-2013 06:31 PM

Be sure you're running the latest version of vB Optimise. You can also turn off the integration via the vBulletin Options so you don't have to disable vB Optimise.

How can I stop the links in the tab from opening in a new window? For example this variable dbtech_thanks_x_clicked_y_for_z_post_a contains {3} which is a link to the post the person Liked, and it opens in a new window with target="_blank". The profile links also have target blank and I want to remove them. Thank you for any assistance.

iraqiboy90 04-28-2013 08:13 PM

I have installed it and enabled for all usergroups. but I still dont see the buttons on the threads.

Search for target= in /dbtech/thanks/includes/class_core.php

Please note that file edits are not supported and you may be asked to restore the original files if something goes wrong.

Additionally, removing the target="_blank" decreases the user friendliness of the feature as it means people will have to click the Back button and find the post again when they want to go back to the thread - it's not advised to remove this code for this reason.

on the profile page the line looks like this:
http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/3875/wrongline.png
removing "clear:both;" within dbtech_thanks_compat.css fixed the problem
PHP Code:

#view-thanks .member_content .subsection {

clear:both;

border-top: {vb:stylevar profile_content_subsection_border};

padding-top: {vb:stylevar padding};

ps. running version 3.1.1

I removed target="_blank" or changed it to target="_top" but it still behaves the same. I don't know if it because of template caching but I cleared caches. I have the newest paid Pro version if it matters. Sorry, it is easier to post here than on your forum.

DragonByte Tech 05-06-2013 04:13 PM

Please post Pro support questions in our Pro support forums, we cannot give support for the Pro version here :)

Have you thought about updating the mod's description to include the new vbseo likes importing tool? I saw someone asking that question on your site and wondered why until I realized it was absent from your description. Only Abe's Thanks are referenced:

Import Thanks: Import script to import "thanks" from Abe's [AJAX] Post Thank You Hack on vBulletin.org. It will work with both vB3 and vB4 versions of this mod.

I added this hack, it installed fine, I see everything but none of the buttons work at all, they do nothing when clicked.

4.2.0 CMS

Sherrie 05-07-2013 09:35 AM

I have 3.0.3 installed and am about to upgrade now.

I have around 500 not found errors in my webmaster tools full of these
Quote:

vbb/post_thanks.php?do=findthanks&u=3168
from various member profiles. I did previously have Abes post thank you hack installed until I installed yours last year.

Is this fixable? will the upgrade fix it?

Thank you for a great mod, everyone really likes the like button :)

Mercenary 05-17-2013 08:33 AM

Hi DragonByte Tech,

I was wondering if you could tell me how I might be able to trigger the action of the thank you button from another plug-in? In other words I would like to have the thank you get added when a user clicks "yes" using the Helpful Answers plug-in.

The code that that is inside that plug-ins template is:

Code:

<a href="./helpfulanswers.php?do=rate&postid=$post[postid]&rank=1" <if condition="$vboptions[disable_ajax] != 2"> onclick="return helpfulanswers_rate($post[postid], 1);" </if> rel="nofollow">$helpfulanswer_yes</a> /
<a href="./helpfulanswers.php?do=rate&postid=$post[postid]&rank=0" <if condition="$vboptions[disable_ajax] != 2"> onclick="return helpfulanswers_rate($post[postid], 0);" </if> rel="nofollow">$helpfulanswer_no</a>

and obviously the DragonByte Thank You code is:

Code:

<a href="javascript://" name="dbtech_thanks_button" data-postid="{$post[postid]}" data-button="{$button[varname]}"><img src="dbtech/thanks/images/{$button[varname]}.gif" alt="{$button[title]}" border="0" /> {$phrase}</a>

~ any help would be appeciated! :)

DragonByte Tech 05-17-2013 08:44 AM

You can look at the way the code in the /dbtech/thanks/contenttypes files work - if you call the /dbtech/thanks/contenttypes/post/save.php file manually in the helpfulanswers.php file and set the required $_POST variables you should be able to get it working :)

Mercenary 05-17-2013 11:56 AM

Hi Fillip,

Thanks for the quick reply - I actually have no idea how to do that, and was hoping it was not too complicated. I'm not sure what you mean by 'call the /dbtech/thanks/contenttypes/post/save.php' manually and set the required $_POST variables. If there's any code examples that you might know of floating around that might help in this circumstance that would great; I appreciate the tips.

If it would be easier to call the other plug-in from the Thank You plug-in I could do that too, although I imagine it would be the same process more or less to implement?

I get this error now several times. I uninstalled and installed it again but no luck.

There's no simple API available for this mod so hands would have to get dirty I'm afraid :(

I'm having trouble liking posts that were created via RSS import. Is this my mistake or a bug?

This post can not be thanked or liked and it was created via import of an RSS feed.
