I just installed everything, and it seems to be working great. However, I'm not getting any images for the latest thread. I checked the image path for it, and it appears ok, but it still is giving me no images. Is there any way I can choose not to show an image?

Thanks

ZGeek 08-01-2004 05:50 AM

I'm customising a theme for vbindex for my site. I am pretty much done except I have a problem with the avatars all showing the default "no avatar" avatar.

I've attached the style, is anyone able to spot my mistake?

Don't worry, I figured it out by reinstalling the hack and uploading my style. No idea what caused it, but its all working now.

As the very first post says, the copyright is mandatory and must remain. If you don't agree to that then you'll need to find another script I'm afraid.

You need to edit the vbindex_latestthreabit template and remove the $vboptions[bburl]/ from the icon <img /> tag.

Read through the README_1ST.html document included in the zip file. It has step by step instructions of where to put the files and what to do.

Big Daddy 08-02-2004 07:57 PM

Hopefully this is a simple issue..... I have recently accidentally uploaded and ovewritten my index.htm file.

How do I put the vbindex page back???

Thanks so much!!!

Blam Forumz 08-02-2004 09:38 PM

could we like add more custom boxes and maybe even more pages?

Shakefire.com 08-04-2004 06:40 PM

I've installed this and followed all instructions. I get into my admincp and I click to add the boxes on the side, etc and it says everything is updated but it isn't appearing on my site (http://www.shakefire.com/boards)

Please help. Thanks!

ZGeek 08-05-2004 11:41 PM

RAAAH!!! my bloody problem with the avatars is back. Even though I chose my avatar and it displays in the forums, the vbindex only shows the "no avatar"

Check it here.

Make sure you have enabled displaying of weekends in the vBindex options.

NTLDR 08-07-2004 02:23 PM

Your index.htm file has nothing to do with vBindex. You need to re-upload whatever you had before to get your specific setup to work. Alternatively rename vbindex.php to index.php and it should appear as the default page on most setups.

KingAdora 08-08-2004 12:47 PM

Can you please tell me how I can change the copyright text to numbers instead of roman letters?

I did look in the vb phrases, and thought I'd found it, but it STILL shows as roman numbers. I'm quite confused.

Thanks :)

NTLDR 08-08-2004 07:31 PM

As I've already stated, the copyright must remain as-is in order to use vBindex.

Blam Forumz 08-08-2004 08:38 PM

How would I show a random image from coppermine in vbindex?

So there's no way we can change to normal numbers? It would just fit in perfectly with my other copyright notices. At the moment it just looks silly.

You can use the dynamic custom blocks to create a coppermine box, however I don't use coppermine so I can provide you with any code.

There's only two options on my "calender option list"

1.Enable Calendar
2.Enable Today's Birthdays

And these are the only two options that I can see so far.. :speechless: Or I miss out anything?

Any help will be much appreciated.:)

Check out the list of features shown in the first post and compare them to what vBadvanced currently offers you. Give both a whirl and see which suits your needs best :)

How do i check which version im currently running of vBindex?

Dorign 08-10-2004 11:18 PM

By default, on the VBINDEX template, this is commented out..

Code:

$vbphrase[threads]: <strong>$home[totalthreads]</strong><br />
$vbphrase[posts]: <strong>$home[totalposts]</strong><br />

I assume because uncommented, it doesn't work anyway. Has this feature been added yet? If not, could someone please tell me how to add it. Thanks!

Comment away the chdir command on line 144. It'll work.

If you haven't edited the footer then the version number will be shown there, otherwise look at the contents of vbindex.php where you will find the version listed in the large comment at the top.

No this feature is no longer included in vBindex as it requires extra queries to display accurate data.

Btw, is it "legal" to remove "vBindex Copyright ? MMII - MMIV Winter Systems." from the bottom of the page if I use an image displaying the same text? (I want to use a nicer font)
