I'll need to double check, but in two or three files several <img> tags had double border="0" attributes and there were a couple of opened tags I ran into. I'll need to check again to see what I edited, but I believe it was mostly in files. The glitch with the profile boxes seems to be that they share the same ID name.

I want to weigh in on the working on this for pay issue. You said:

I tried this addon and didn't like it, plus the lack of support, so I decided to remove it. The kill_xperience.php works but after doing that, it completely screwed up my board. This addon is garbage! Just removing all the hack's files doesn't completely remove it, I had to also re-upload all my original Vbulletin files in order for errors to go away. I was getting nothing but blank screens when trying to post or reply.

Garbage. Stay away from this hack.

Yes, this mod stays free. There is is no support for older versions. This counts for vBulletin 3.5 and for 3.6 - and this also counts now for 3.8. As I cannot provide updates for all versions the users may have, you will have to live with that.
Also, FREE means that nobody has to pay money to me to use it. It does not count if you hire another coder to install oder customize it or if you upgrade your server because this modifications eats up cpu....

Oh yes, just another stupid basher that has not read the instructions and did unnecessary actions like re-upload vBulletin. Thanks for your show. This modification has been installed 2500 times, it seems to me not to be garbage.

Yeah, that's two different things. I'm still not sure why people are equating money to time, but it just doesn't work that way for most people.

Lost of things are garbage when you don't read the instructions. Superglue, boric acid, microwave popcorn...

Yea I dont think so , I have been using this mod for a long time as many of us have and this is one of the best supported and if not one of the best ones that have been released here on VB.org ....

As I said in the closing of my post, I like the mod, and appreciate what it does, and time the developer put into it. Just offering a suggestion to please a wider audience. Clearly you guys don't like the idea, which is fine.

So your saying in your world, money equates to extra hours of the day? Seems like it's better in yours.

In any event, I wasn't trying to make a confrontational statement. People keep offering coders money in the hopes that this will somehow section off more time for something that they've already said the don't have time for. I'm only pointing out the futility of that belief.

Thank you. I was hoping/assuming that was the case. None of our limited interactions have been unpleasant, so it didn't make sense that this one was. Thanks for affirming that, nonetheless.

Much of what I do is free for the sheer enjoyment of doing it. On the other hand, I have two kids to support, so sometimes I have to face the tough decision of moving a project from the "I love my work" column to the "gotta pay the bills" column, or else drop it. I wasn't making any assumptions about the developer (or any developer for that matter). Just putting out an idea for him/her to consider, as I would like to stay on this particular bus without moving my board and it's mods to vb4.

No doubt I'll see you in other areas here, so I'll see you later.

Just a short note: Today I installed vB4 and started the work. Till now the progress is going forward. It's just that I have to re-design around 70 templates and make the required code changes.
I expect a release of the first beta in the next 2-3 weeks.

man, i really am glad you are putting this on VB 4!! I've been waiting on the 'yet another awards system' mod to put automation to their awards, but it looks like this probably already has this ability?
I'm hoping to put many awards in the postbit. This is possible, right? And adding lots of new awards will be do-able too, right?

Might i suggest an item. Could there possibly be a mystery item you can buy? What i mean is this: say you have this mystery item in your shop. the icon maybe is a box with a ? on the side. Ok. Now, when a person purchases that mystery item, it adds to your inventory a random item from your shop. Perhaps even make it so that certain items have a better chance of getting picked than others.

I've been using vbPlaza for the last few years so never really looked at this mod, but I'm finally deciding to install it on my board :).

Don't know if this has ever been mentioned, but I think it would be great to incorporate "quests" like www.thesixtyone.com does to try and get new users into exploring all the features of the site :). For example, on thesixtyone when you sign up you get little pop-ups in the corner of the window saying "Rate five songs to level up to the next ranking!" Then you can complete other tasks to earn points. Maybe you could include quests like "Vote in 2 polls" or "Add three people as your friend" :).

Phalynx, I take 3.8.5 Beta 3 is the final release for the 3.8 series?

I was wondering is it stable?

Any chance you can upgrade it to GOLD (for one final release) once the vB 4 is out?

I highly doubt there will be a final version of 3.8.5 - use the stable 3.8.4 instead.
Also I have a Beta 4 of 3.8.4, but this is like the Beta 3 not really stable.

Ok and what about some kind of global currency "gold" and a banking system, sure the points are nice but having a common currency like gold to buy stuff with seems much more sensible. A bank would help encourage people to save up to.
