Digital Jedi 10-12-2011 11:06 AM

It's temporarily closed until I can come up with a replacement. Site is having issues.

ShackMaster 10-12-2011 01:20 PM

So... are you closed to taking suggestions on potential definitions as well?

Maybe you could let folks know so they don't keep asking over and over?

Thank you... I thought I was loosing my mind there for a bit. I'll keep an eye out for the definition updates.

I plan to. As soon as I come up with an alternative. ;)

A few requests:

Bloomberg Videos ( for example: http://www.bloomberg.com/video/77441090/ and more: http://www.bloomberg.com/video/featured/ )

CNBC (for example: http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000051012 and more: http://www.cnbc.com/id/15839263/?tab...abheader=false )

Google Video (I only saw definitions for search results. For example: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...7754264973286# )

KingWorldNews (.MP3) (for example: http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldne...d_Celente.html contains a link to a .MP3 file)

Any help would be appreciated.

How do I get this to stop converting wiki links? I deleted the wiki definitions over 2 weeks ago yet it is still embedding the links.

slowstreamer 10-20-2011 03:59 PM

Our users love the simplicity and the number of sites your mod covers and would like to thank you for all your efforts !

I tried to provide Def. Request feedback via the COG link but could not find or location to submit.

Embedding PhotoBucket SlideShow links is not working. I loaded latest Delta file but still no go. Wondering if you have any tips or know if there is a definition for the PhotoBucket SlideShows ?

M.C. 10-22-2011 01:07 AM

have similar problem not installing all definition but maybe just half of it... try install one-by-one starting from youtube - not working too :( but first half is OK. may be something in XML-file?

I don't know may be it was posted here but is it any way it can parce this links http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=h-zcLI2aRnY
Becouse for now if there is something before v=XXX it's not parsing :(

and finally I have problem with youtube and vbadvanced:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

and it's braking all other modules in vbadvanced after that.

That should be all you need to do. Possibly re-sync you cache.

I'll look into it first chance I get. I retested videos during the last update, but forgot about their slideshow option.

I've never seen that string before. Where did you pick that up? Standard embedded videos should have player_embedded after the video ID. I might be able to compensate, but I'd like to know where those particular strings are originating from.

As mentioned in the FAQ post, the character count you allow in a vBa module will include all the characters in the HTML, too. So you if you have fewer characters allowed in a module than is in the embed code, it will get truncated and create issues like shown here.

YouTube itself had been giving me those types of URLs lately after I finished watching a video... but even more recently now I don't see the link anymore when a video finishes, just a grid of more videos.

The old embed code still displays the URL after the video. The new iframe embed doesn't, but I notice you still have the option to grab the old version if you look deep enough. Places like Facebook still use it, but I've always seen it with video_embedded after the video ID. Odd.

Does someone have a code that works for Daily Motion?

Tourmeister 11-04-2011 07:44 AM

I imported the full definition file (Master). YouTube long links work fine, but the short links won't work. I tried searching this thread for info and did not find anything. The definition for the short links is enabled. Not sure what to do?

What problems are you having with Dailymotion, specifically?

Short Links are embedding for me, but if you can post the links you tried, I can try them on my demo. Alternatively, there's a mod by BirdOPrey that converts short URLs to long ones, if that turns out to be the issue.

Howdy,

Here's one that won't convert. It just displays the link and if I click it, it does load the correct video.

Working on my installation. You said you have the most recent update, right? Only thing we can do is try to double check all your settings. Make sure Disable New items is set to No, resync your File Cache, etc,.

So far all the links I tested are still embedding. Can I see some of the links your using?

I try to update definitions as often as I can, provided people keep me up to date on sites that have stopped working. But the nature of my life prevents me from setting down an actual timeline.

That's an example. The end result on my site is this:

There also seems to be some sort of conflict between this modification and [DBTech] Advanced @User Tagging v2 (vB3)

They seem to be stumped on how to fix this issue on their end:

I know its more than likely been asked before but can i use AME for images? We used to have a plugin called uploader installed (vb3.8.7pl2) and we have images stored in mysite.com/forum/uploader/ how would I go about getting AME to work with those images?

You can create a definition to embed images, and it's probably best if they are located at a specific location, like you've done there. All that would change is, instead of embed code, you would use <img></img> tags and have the RegEx identify something unique to each image URL. If you haven't checked the tutorials on the first page of this thread yet, you might want to check them out.

meijin 12-15-2011 12:17 PM

I have this installed with the latest version of AME. Testing the templates shows pretty much everything working except for eBay. When I paste in the eBay link, all I get is just the http link. I did download the image for eBay. Just cannot seem to make it work. I did notice that there are 3 different versions of template for eBay. Perhaps some sort of conflict? Sorry if this has already been asked, but I could not go through all 119 pages of this thread.

Thanks!

There's three eBay definitions so as to match the three different kinds of eBay links. But eBay could easily have or added more. Can you show the me the URL you tried to embed?

meijin 12-16-2011 08:24 AM

I just pulled this one out at random and just tried it again with the same result. Pasting the following link into a post (verified that all 3 eBay definitions are active) does nothing except give me a clickable link.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/260670311006...ht_3573wt_1163

Thanks for your help!

Digital Jedi 12-19-2011 03:04 PM

Open the definition with the key ebay3, and in the Regular expression field, put a colon right about here:
Code:

[\w&;:\#.%\?=]*

meijin 12-19-2011 10:50 PM

Bingo! Thanks Mark! You're help is much appreciated!

I finally got it to work and made an xml file that will let ya post a .pdf from any site, including locally.

Regular Expression
Code:

Replacement
Code:

<iframe src="http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=$p1&embedded=true" width="$ameinfo[width]" height="$ameinfo[height]" align="center" style="border: none;"><param name="url" value="pdf=$p1" /></iframe>
One down, now if I can get one for DocStoc I'll be doing Great, I can do them with BBcode, but they pass 2 varibles so I have to use the "Option" in BBCode.
(ex. [doc=MemID]Document ID[/doc]) I dont know how to code that in AME definitions.

Thanks Again DJ and Please check my xml and make sure it's up to standards, and as it should be.

LOL what a way to spend New years Eve, troubleshooting embedding code...Go Figure....LOL

i have installed this definition.. great for me using external pdfs... i just want to change the title on to middle from 'PDF' to thread title like in youtube embed..... may be this 'pdf=$p1' part in replacement to be changed.... i tried $threadtitle not working....

AME will only pull the title of URL source. So if it doesn't have one, such as a PDF, you have to use the default name of the definition. Template variables do not parse inside of of the replacement field.

facebook videos are not working for me. I have the latest AME and just imported the definition and enabled it. Currently I only have YouTube, Vimeo and facebook enabled.

Sorry.. I have a dumb question. How do I get ALL of the definitions to show up in the AME CP?

It stops at the key "godtube". I'm assuming there are additional pages of definitions, but how do I get to the next page to see them?

When I imported, it said worked like a charm.

Is there a limitation on how many I can import?

Anyone? I can't get vimeo and a lot of others to embed.

Yes.. I read the FAQ and see that sometimes it will only import half. I tried importing the others and it just won't import them, although it says it worked like a charm. Frustrating for newbies!

I even deleted a bunch that I didn't want and tried to re-import just vimeo, photobucket, and a few others and would not import.

Pahonix 01-26-2012 12:41 PM

Looks like the request forum is offline again...

This GameSpot video isn't parsing:

http://www.gamespot.com/the-secret-w...video-6349173/

Has GameSpot has changed their video URL scheme? Almost all that I can find at http://www.gamespot.com/videos/index.html are www.gamespot.com / <gamename> / videos / videoname-videoid which doesn't match either of the conditions in the two GameSpot definitions (at least what my limited knowledge of expressions tells me).
