Thanks for all the hard work Red ;-)

Could you overwrite these files and let me know if they fix the problems.

vb_ad_management.php goes in admincp, vb_ad_management.xml is uploaded via the product manager.

Randall Flagg 11-27-2007 11:23 PM

Awesome , can't wait to try version 4

redlabour 11-28-2007 04:20 AM

Before i try 4 again i need a Backup of my old Settings - again the Question :

Where are the Ads saved at 3.14 ?

I have restored product and templates Tables - no success. I have restored all Files from 3.14 still no success.

And now 4.0 is not longer available?

neopet001 11-28-2007 05:17 AM

We are waiting ....
Keep up your good work!

EricPSF 11-28-2007 05:57 AM

Will it work for the upcoming vB 3.7?

Thank you.

Regards,
Eric

Sure. :) But I'll wait until I upload all the files, just in case I change something in the phrase file.

I am sorry, it looks like you have lost your advertisements. My assumption was that people would read the manual before upgrading, I will make this clearer with the next update.

It's not out yet, I have no idea. I would have thought it would.

To everyone - the old Ads are stored in vb3_setting in the Rows with 'adintegrate'. ;)

@RedTyger - there where no Instructions in the Package.

RedTyger 11-28-2007 10:37 AM

It was linked at the beginning of the update notification. Or more specifically:
http://redtyger.co.uk/manual.php?pro...4.00#upgrading

Please add a instructions.txt with the Link to the Package. Then everybody knows this.

nanaimobar 11-28-2007 03:14 PM

When V4 installed there seems to be a conflict with the Management Attachments popup window failing to properly connect to server and display contents for adding new attachments to a thread.

Tried reinstalling v4, checked v4 file locations for proper placement, checked permissions etc.
At present time am first disabling ad system to add attachments by using the browsing and uploading buttons, then re-enabling ad system after attachments added to thread.

Anyone else experiencing problems with attachments?

Dear RedTyger is there any problem and can we upgrade now ?
thanks

tekguru 11-28-2007 05:49 PM

Well I decided to do the removal of 3.14 and upgrade to 4.00 tonight on my test forum.

The removal of 3.14 went well - no issues at all. The install of 4.xx seemed to go well until I tried to view the forum and I now get:

Quote:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare cache_styles() in /home/windows/public_html/forums_test/includes/local_links_include.php on line 1005
So it looks like there may be a Mod conflict there?

I've already replaced the vb_ad_management.php and vb_ad_management.xml files and it makes no difference.

So unless you have a solution it looks like I'm stuck with 3.14 :(

RedTyger 11-28-2007 07:30 PM

Looks like you're right. Let me know the name of the modification its conflicting with and I'll see if it's avoidable.

tekguru 11-28-2007 08:46 PM

Not a problem, one PM sent.

I have installed as to the exact installation, however I am still getting vb Ads adding itself to the vbulletin options list shown below.

I removed ALL files from v3.14 and done a complete install from start but I still get the same issue. has anyone else seen this in the vboptions list?

VBUsers 11-29-2007 04:18 AM

hope to get this soon.

iogames 11-29-2007 04:42 AM

Wow! great! :D:D:D

[where can I download here on vB.org?]

LGKeiz 11-29-2007 05:07 AM

ATTENTION: Downloads have been temporarily removed due to a couple of bugs found. I will announce an update shortly. lol I hope it comes soon.

I thought that was unavoidable, but apparently not. Fixed in the next release.

Just awaiting feedback from a couple of users with problems now. Sorry for the way everyone.

Ethelbert 11-29-2007 01:53 PM

When it will be available for download?

Suzie 11-29-2007 03:07 PM

Is there any way we can go back to the previous version? I am losing money with google and getting testy advertisers wanting to know where their ads are.

Suzie 11-29-2007 06:25 PM

Got it installed (before it was pulled) and working but a few questions:

- The option for removing sponsored ads - seems to have vanished from the control panel as to where we can set the disablement url. It now seems to be defaulting to registering on site link?

- On the style I use the auto-add templtes appear not to be working so I've added back in the style template edits from 3.14 and these seem to be working well.

The first problem is stopping me going live....

onehost 11-30-2007 05:38 PM

Does this script have any problems with logging in to admin, and Thread Options/Mod Tools, ever since i installed it, I get blank screen on admin, then i have to go back to admincp
then admincp loads, and thread/mod tools come up with a blank screen when i try a mod tools...

Just curious, or if i need to look at something else as being the problem.

AFemaleProdigy 11-30-2007 05:43 PM

Hello! I have this mod installed on nearly all of my forum communities. I am trying to make the post ads float to the right so that all post text is wrapped around it on the left. But no matter how I put the float code in or where I put it, it just won't work. I don't understand it. I must be over looking something simple. Does anyone know where to place the float code and how to best write it?

For now, I put the float code in postbit template, wrapped around the postbit_advertisement variable, but it doesn't work...

Code:

<div id="post_message_$post[postid]">
  $post[message]
  <!-- / message -->
  <div style="display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;">
  $postbit_advertisement</div>
  </div>

Does anyone know how to make this work with this mod? Thanks!

onehost 11-30-2007 06:02 PM

Red,

I have confirmed that your scipt has something to do with admincp and the mod tools not permforming properly.. someone gave me the idea to disable the script, and everything works just fine, when the ad management is on, then those items do not work.

eJM 11-30-2007 08:18 PM

Fer cripes sake, leave it alone, will ya? Red will upload the fixed version just as soon as he can. Anyone who takes the time to see the level of support he has given this modification can see he won't be lallygaggin'. But your juvenile gimme-gimme posts are a pain in the ass for those of us who subscribe to this thread. Shut up and be patient already.

Jim

Randall Flagg 11-30-2007 09:13 PM

Yeah, give the guy time to fix all the bugs. It's better to wait more and have an error free mod , than to rush it out and have tons of bugs.
