thumbs.db is a file created by Windows, you dont need to upload it to your webspace.

I currently use the 3.6.7 version of the thank hack. However, I was not able to prune all thanks given by a single user using the ACP's Special Actions. Do you know if this is some error in the code?

Just a note to say that the Post Thank You row under posts did not have the same thin, dark border that we have around our posts. To fix this, I changed the first bit of the post_thanks_postbit_legacy template from

This must be because you still have the search option up. remove it from your nav_bar and member_info template.

I have to admit that Im not a coder :o

search in it for the word 'thank' see what comes up. it should be totally inclosed in tags for the hack so you should be able to remove the code easily.

This is a much needed feature. I have one user that has taken it upon himself to thank every damn post on the board. This is not a situation where I can easily ban or reprimand him, but I sure would like an admin button to DUMP what he has done. That particular user has thanked 5,260 posts!

HOT DAMN! I found it!

It went through the motions, but it didn't do anything.

I can find the word 'thank' in my default style in 'Cybernetics Templates' and 'cyb_topstats_thanks'

Its weird as some days I get 1 error, sometimes multiple!

I'd like to see this feature added too. I love this add-on (thanks Abe!), but as it works today people have no way of knowing when someone thanks them for an old post unless they go looking for it.

ETA: It'd be even better if receiving notifications was user-optional.

Admincp > Post Thanks > Special Actions
Delete All of a User's Thanks
This action will delete all thanks a single user gave.

Has anyone used this? Does it work at all?

I ran it on both a user number and user name and it does absolutely nothing. It acts like it's processing, but the thanks are all still there.

User's Total Thanks: 5,275

I advise caution before you put this on a big board! I have 3,497 pages of table data in post_thanks which apparently includes 105,886 thanks.

The users love it, but thats the problem. I have users who think it's their lot in life to thank every damn post on the board!

I really need to do a query on this thing, flush the toilet and start over.

Does uninstalling this hack empty the table?

Or, is this as simple as selecting the post_thanks table in PhpMyadmin, selecting all five fields and hitting the EMPTY button?

gbml4u 11-14-2007 07:04 PM

everything is working for me well , but i have some problem that thank buttons can be displayed in my Forum and in the readme file , i have found not thing.

Can anybody in here tell me how can i add this thank button to my site ?

I have some serious issues with using this hack on a big board. I tried the truncating and that made a mess, so I restored my backup.

I tried uninstalling and that ends up timing out with a white screen on the admin control panel.

I tried reinstalling and now I'm sitting on a screen that says Importing Product, Please Wait...
It just sits there after showing: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: to infinity...

Maybe my board is too big? Posts: 243,952

As it sits now, I have the hack disabled and the post_thanks table did empty out after several attempts at uninstalling. Basically, I think there are time-out issues when doing the install/uninstall functions through admincp on a board of this size. As I said above, I have had this hack for a long time, but over that time, users have abused the function and put it into overload.

This is an excellent hack that is appreciated by the majority of users. Like as in anything else, 10% of the users will cause 90% of your trouble. The best resolution is to make sure that the REMOVE ALL thanks by a user function is working well.

Installed and testing ....

How does one get the graphic "Thanks" button to match our style, instead of being the standard default vBulletin colors?

Thanks ... :)

Regards,
Badger

Edit: Tested....

There's some kind of problem with Horizontal and Vertical postbit templates....

This phrase:

Quote:

Thanks: 0
Thanked 2 Times in 1 Post
Appears under the UserName information etc, in the Horizontal post bit template, even when the mod is turned OFF. Ironically, it doesn't appear at all in the Vertical postbit template, whether the mod is turned OFF or ON. Anyone else notice this and have a fix?

pvalderh 11-19-2007 03:21 PM

Couldnt find any info on this, but the users of our forum who uses Opera cant get this feature to work. Simply nothing happens when they click the button. It works fine in IE, FF, Safari, but not in Opera.

Are there any known issues with this hack and Opera? Or maybe it is Ajax in Opera?
