I moved my database a few days ago and when I went to test this great component I got an error message when trying to download :

Warning: copy(./downloads///ec_tmp/file name) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /downloads.php on line 708
ERROR: File not found.

Uploads and everything else works fine.

thanks, install. have a problem. my file can't download by soft Idm ??? why ??, when i upload file to folders Downloads by soft ftp and what much i do when i want insert file to system Download ??? upload by forum is very slow :D

It looks great until you have to have the first link as the clickable download, but the rest of the parts in the description.

Have nen bigger problem. Everybody datei the loaded as high becomes, indeed, can be downloaded, however, it is not opened... It always stands there: Citation: Unknown form kind or the file is damaged... Besides, it concerns around scarce and txt dateien! with zip etc. I do not know there I with it not works.

how can i change the relative download path to the absolute path in the settings because
i want that two websites used the same downloadfiles. The Websites are not in the same folder on the webserver. The Forum is in /srv/www/htdocs/forum/ and the website is in /srv/www/htdocs/website/.

It is possible to change it?

The path to the downloads must be se same in both cases. If you have the rights to acces the file at the server it will be okay.

Any fix for this? or will this be fixed in the next version.

I'm not sure how link to external files work.

1. I assume the external files location is hidden from visitor as well.
2. If so, when the visitors click on external link, do the bandwidth count on the external server as well as the main server?
3. Is there a limit download, say 1gb per day or per week?

I'd like to have those answer before trying out, and reply is greatly appreciated.

Found a solution to my problem with rewriting rules on the vbseo forum.

I have another question: would it be possible to add a reputation button into the downloads? So if wanted users can give reputation whenever someone posted some downloads.

Hi, my Problem is.

1. I cannot sort the categories. 1,2,3 does not bring the desired result.
2. And the under category attitude does not go also.

I've set some categories only visible by some groups, but I see that files uploaded to those categories are still listed for everyone in Latest Files. How can i make it so it's only listed by those who have permission to view the categories?

I was hoping to get this fixed as the changelog says but problem is still there for me, too. Any update, please?

Sorry, that's a known limitation. There's no way around it right now.

Let me see what I can do. That's a real shortcoming with the "Update Counters" feature. The comments didn't exists when we first wrote "Update Counters" and we keep forgetting to include it. I may even give you a separate php file as a quick fix.

Hello, for some reason counters doesn't update, it loads, loads and then an error page :S

Also all categories are showin 0 files :S but I do have a lot of iles, oddly the number of files is showing correctly just below :(

I'm not sure there even is a way to do that. If we hide it for external files, we'd have to copy the file to the local server, then serve it. That's not a very nice solution.

Plus, you can link to not only external files but also to web pages. Working those into a hidden solution along with possible files would be tricky.

BTW - I don't mention this much but DownloadsII can be used as not only a file manager but also a links manager. Like I said above, you can point to not only files but also sites.

Does this happen to every file you try to download? What is the url of your site? PM me an admin login and password and I'll check it out.

Well, your question in English was difficult to understand. We do our best to support non-English speakers but can only do so much for a free vb modification that is used world-wide. It's an open area without a login required.

The only thing I wish it had more was permissions by usergroup, but I see that is coming soon.

Yes this was with everybody datei. After I have changed 745 following in the file downloads.php in line: readfile ("$filename"); in echo file_get_contents ("$filename"); changed. If everything functions now. Thank you, nevertheless, for yours hilfe.

My problem is:
My forum host is not big enough to store files. Then I upload my files to the external host. I got my link to the file then post it into DownloadII section. When my member download it. It will show the real link to my external host. Like: hxxp://myhost.net/myfile.rar Can you make the real link turn into something like the link for the file into internal host, like: hxxp://mysite.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=1&act=down. I don't want member to know the real link to my external host. :D

To fix the comment counter problem:

OPEN /includes/class_downloads.php

FIND
REPLACE WITH
Then rerun the Update Counters.

It seems that there were two typo's in it and I only fixed one of them (and didn't test it, my mistake) :)
I'm wrapping together a new release at the moment to fix this and some other small issues.

eh i replaced the code and update counters now it shows one comment on every single files

also when you add the llinks the file url wont be cloaked as if you wouldimportthe files!

also fdorsome reason myentire category is gone, but not entierly since i can access a file that were located at that directory that was supposed to be deleted but it still exist!!!!

it says thefile is on main downloadpage when i cant see a single file there

beside can you make a own section for moderator to import incase its not possible to cloak the url, since it seems on /downloads/ have a protection against reveealing the true url location

It's a standard vBulletin template as these are template edits (very common for vBulletin.org mods, so there's not documentation).

You can find it at AdminCP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Edit Templates (select it in the dropdown menu of the style you want to edit) -> Memberinfo Templates (double click on this category to expand it) -> MEMBERINFO (double click on it to open the edit form)
