Hello iojam,

I downloaded a new copy here, copy the files to the server and overwrote: didn't work. I uninstalled the old copy and installed again, still didn't work.

I deleted the old data folder (including the sitemaps there) and that seems to have fixed it. I guess one or more of those files got damaged somewhere.

Edit: yes, it completed now.

Hi

I have a problem with Reports List, no more *.log files are created in vbseo_sitemap/data/ since april 2009?!

mescalin 11-13-2009 01:33 PM

I have vbseo and when i try to access /forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz it redirects to forumhome.

Code:

RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]
is allready in the htaccess file in the forum root. any idea?

djilou,

make sure that data/ folder permissions are set to 0777.

mescalin,

check that mod_rewrite is enabled on your host: http://www.vbseo.com/f77/how-check-i...my-site-21502/

mod_rewrite is enabled ive tested it and im runing vbseo without problem. however when i try to redirect to sitemap it redirects to homepage and redirection doesnt work for that.

Hello,

what is your full .htaccess file content?

GTX2 11-22-2009 07:56 AM

I'm using this since 2007, but was checking now and have some error:
When clicking "Show SE Bots Activity Log", i get this error:
Warning: file(/home/gsm/public_html/vbseo_sitemap/data/hits/20080125.log) [function.file]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /vbseo_sitemap/index.php on line 216

also, i don't see any new file in data/hits folder, since Jan 2008....
What am i doing wrong?

Basically, when this sends sitemaps to Yahoo/Google- does your CRAWLABILITY LINK get included with the information sent?

Months ago I installed this on a big-board of mine and my rankings took a huge drive in the search engine- and I was penalized. Yes, you could argue there are a number of factors that could lead to that. However, I just realized that this could be the issue.

1. Having your rankings take "a huge drive" (sic) and being penalized are two very different things. Whihc was it and if you were penalized, what for?

2. How could adding one outgoing link possibly cause what you seem to think it caused? Do you really think that is even remotely plausible?

I downloaded this and read the install instructions.

However my forum home is not my website root. It's one directory down from the website root and my .htaccess file is in my root, not my forums directory. I have php code that runs in the root and one of the links off the php code in the root leads to the forums directory.

therefore my question is as follows:

1) I assume that the .htaccess code that's included in this hack which follows should be changed from:
PHP Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule
^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$[L

to:

PHP Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule
^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/forums/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$[L

is this correct?

thanks in advance.
